There is simply not enough information in this request for help. 1) What map are you on? 2) What server are you on? 3) What if anything are you offering for your repaired leg I am not being a jerk including the answers to these three questions may help you get a response.

My adopted home on NL forces is gone =*( I am looking for a new server for my squad to operate in. Last night I tried a couple of open servers, one even claiming to have active admins but had the misfortune of running across a hacker with the in game name of "Smarter" who wasted a weeks worth of gear acquisition with a teleport and an Enfield...an Enfield really?! I mean man if your going to fkn hack have a weapon that will vaporize someone or something get fkn creative...but I digress. I am looking for a dedicated, vilayer hive preferably, Takistan server to play on with a squad of 4-5 regularly. I know many are on the Fallujah bandwagon currently, but Takistan seems much more challenging to me and more fun. If you read this and are privy to some information that can help us out...PM or post please! ~Skin~

Unless I know the person, they are in TS with me, are unarmed or obviously a freshy they are considered hostile until they provide me with any reason to believe otherwise. After a month of solid playing, this world has created the bandit in me, call me a product of my environment. I tried to be friendly in the beginning, it is my natural inclination but DayZ has taught me that unlike the real world...in DayZ nice guys really DO finish last. Since I changed to the new policy I have enjoyed unending success....except to hackers which I have not found an answer to other than an admin with a ban hammer!!

I am. I sense some angst Dgeesio, as if you don't appreciate the opportunity that has been handed to you. BI is investing it's resources into the team that is developing DayZ SA and paying them well hopefully. We the gaming community will receive a polished, secure and AWESOME game to play for which we will pay BI to own our slice of the pie. For those that choose to create modifications to the original mod, they are FREELY contributing their talents in the hopes others will enjoy, sharing in their passion. It's almost as if you resent their efforts for some reason and are trying to champion some misguided cause to seek compensation for the work they have given to you, asking nothing in return. Generosity must not be a part of your vocabulary.

I agree with Riem...with the exception of it being "cheesy" I like DayZ. It's short, clean and leaves the door open for so many interpretations that the tagline "this is your story" also applies to the title!!

I think it's brilliant, Rocket is tapping into the fervor and creativity of the people he CREATED this mod for to begin with! It's synergy in action!! Allowing the community to contribute to the final product in itself says "I appreciate what you bring to the table" and I for one applaud him for it. No other game has had the kind of emotional effect on me like this game, one moment I am elated, the next my hands are sweaty and I am shaking from the sudden rush of adrenaline through my bloodstream...whatever Rocket is cooking up with the standalone WITH THE HELP OF THIS COMMUNITY, Will earn not only my beans but whatever dollar amount they decide to slap on the software. If I do indeed become a victim of post traumatic stress disorder like my wife claims is inevitable, will I be able to include the private mod dev's in the litigation?!?!

Ok...so my friend just sent me a text and said "all Takistan maps are on Vilayer" while I am not sure this is accurate I am willing to start over on ANOTHER hive if we can actually have legit combat without the hackers. My clan has servers for Lingor and Fallujah and I have geared toons on all the maps but Takistan with it's nonexistant hospitals, trees you can't garner wood from and wide open spaces that scream PLEASE SNIPE ME is the hardest (and most fun) for me. If you belong to an active community on a Takistan server please holler at me.

Upgrade from your 14.4 connection and commodore 64 computer and you will enjoy this fantastic game much more.

@ BudBaker. It's "their lives" and "their lawns"...you probably cheated your way through English class... @ the OP, you sir have my beans, teaching the young man that actions have consequences is a valuable lesson indeed. Cheating, Harvard or no, will only get you so far and in the real world where one is expected to PERFORM, those that cheat will quickly be discovered to be nothing more than an empty suit.

How does it feel? You had me dead to rights didn't you? I was the guy approaching the north airfield in Takistan at 1pm today. You must have been elated thinking of the loot you would glean from this kill. You shouldn't have missed, it would have prevented me from diving behind the bushes and small rock that absorbed your next dozen shots. I wonder how it felt as my round tore through your face as you were logging out because I had the audacity to return fire. If you feel like a small pathetic little boy, it's because you are. Go back to modern warfare, this game is for the big boys who have the balls to stick around during a fire fight. ~Skin~

Tabbing out has a habit of doing that, I have the fix however!!! Whenever I need to tab out I press M and go to map, you can also hit Esc either will work. It will prevent your gun from firing when you tab back in. I went through a whole clip of stanag once tabbing over to windows to check a TS typed message and about soiled myself....found the fix quickly after THAT experience!

Before I knew what guns were what I had a similair experience, an unpleasant one in fact. Had the weapon for about a week, racked up plenty of kills and enjoyed the piss out of the thermal...until I logged in a server and was promptly banned upon log in for HAVING it! I have never hacked or cheated and was rather embarrassed to be lumped in with the likes of those people. I killed a zombie and promptly buried the gun and appealed my ban. Morale to the story? Don't even pick the damn thing up because although it is an extremely effective weapon, it is NOT a natural part of the DayZ mod. That in and of itself makes it cheating and therefore unworthy of legit players.

No sir, not me you may have run afoul of the sniper that drew down on me as well. I only have an hour at lunch and was getting into position to get more ammo tonight when I took the incoming rounds. I am grateful you guys started with the regular restarts, I may be able to get some NATO rounds for my .50!! From what I can gather they only come from chopper crashes =(

NL forces is an excellent server, I have had some serious fun in Takistan there and that is why it is EcF's adopted home. We have our own Chernarus, Lingor and Fallujah servers but we liked NL Forces so much we didn't even bother getting a Takistan server and made ourselves comfortable. We have experienced many loggers during firefights on every server we go to because we usually bring superior force projection to bear in fights, overwhelming most enemies. This instance surprised me because I was alone AND he had the jump on me from the beginning!! I scored with my .50 as he was leaving....I hope he died and the hive logged it as such, I didn't need his gear anyway.

I belong to an amazing Clan, but we are having a difference of opinion on server providers. I think Vilayer is the way to go and some think HFB is better. Those "in the know" please make a case for what YOU believe to be the better experience, provider etc. and WHY! Thank you, I appreciate this community and their proactive nature and look forward to the responses.

Anyone who has ever had the "pleasure" of playing with a screeching pre-pubescent in comms will attest that this policy is as far from "junk" as one could get.

It sounds like you will make a fine addition to a clan, unfortunately EcF is a 21+ community and will not be able to extend an invitation. Thank you for your timely response however and the best of luck to you!!

I have a few questions Laney. How old are you? What is your experience (time played etc) on DayZ including Lingor and Takistan. Do you have TS? As a self described "lonewolf" how do you see yourself fitting in to a squad based environment? I am {EcF}Skin (just Skin is fine =D) and am asking these questions to see if you may be a fit to run with one of our squads. This is an established clan and the criteria for acceptance are not malleable.
