I have never recorded...our TS is a bit salty and not much for the kiddies if you know what I mean. I really would like to however. We have played since the release of the mod and are primarily a bunch of older guys employing military strategy and tactics to survive. We never hunt bambis but well geared and organized squads because there is not only honor in it, but MUCH more fun!! Had we recorded some of our exploits I would love to be able to look back and view them as just the oral "war stories" of our conquests leave me in stitches. I would of course share them as well as long as no tactical information that could be used against us in theater were revealed...that could of course be edited I am sure....what recording service do you guys use?

" how do you guys feel about us turning off persistence Tuesday night and turning it back on Wednesday night like we did? " I can only speak for myself, I like it. It serves two purposes in my mind. It not only adds the fun and adventure of looking for birds BUT also adds to the culling of hoarded loot. KNOWING once a week that the countless little stash spots will be wiped will not allow groups like yours and ours to sit on our laurels and need to keep inventory of quality items stocked. This answer surprises me to be honest because after I actually weighed the pros and cons of it, I think overall it will have a positive effect for server performance as well. Originally I was a bit miffed that my nest egg was gone but after further review I would stick with it...I love hunting choppers though so I am horribly biased truth be told! The only "end around" that I can see to this opinion is the backpack within a backpack deal. This will allow everything except guns (sans the mp5, sawed off, 74u and pistols) to be saved so I don't see an answer to that until the devs fix it.

I agree wholeheartedly about the sportsmanship Punisher, your initial contact is a coward and is very lucky he escaped you. Our squad was indeed responsible for the coup de grace but your initial contact in the mountain pack was a separate operator. We were en route to rendezvous with one of our guys nearby when we heard the shooting and closed in. While we do not have clan tags, our names do not change and we do not combat log as the previous weeks engagements have shown. If one of ours ever tried to log in a fight, he would be shamed off of teamspeak for life. I appreciate you putting the vid up, I got a kick out of seeing it from your perspective! This was by no means a major tactical victory for us, you were merely a target of opportunity and from the looks of it still reeling from a scrape before we arrived. Soon the server files will be made available and administrators will be able to discern what spineless bitches DO combat log ( I can hardly wait ) and you can ban them from the private shard. Be careful however because while we were engaged with you above Zel by the chopper crash one of FOG "lost connection" while being chased and I am almost positive it was a "DayZ stopped working" crash because within 2 minutes he logged back in knowing he was going to die...which of course he did. This bug is known and a royal pain in the ass when it happens in inopportune times such as those!! Lastly, thanks for hosting this server. The competition is not only fun but it keeps our squad sharp and well rehearsed. Having another cohesive unit in the territory keeps people from getting lax on security and keeps their heads in the game of survival. ~Skin~

I am looking for a new home for my squad, after burying hacked weapons with the last three kills I have made I am done with public servers. This request is for a high population whitelist only Chenarus server. I dont care about how many vehicles, I dont bother with them anyway, my only request is that name plates be disabled. Tonight would be great but everyone is probably playing so anytime is fine. ~Skin~

I prefer squad operations to be honest....any game that gives me a ghillie and a rifle doesnt scream friendly at me if you get my drift. I would like a challenging environment of squad based combat sans hackers.

I was invited to this server and two of my squad members joined me, the server runs well and I didn't have any experience with hackers. I hope to see more people join as having a target rich environment suits me just fine >: )

The thermal capabilities the l85 employs is by FAR the most powerful tool in the game. It renders most of the tactics used by players useless except for the heaviest of cover. It has dual scope capabilities, night vision and thermal making it an extremely effective weapon. The range is not as great as the FN FAL but I have used it effectively up to 500m. While I hope they do away with the weapon in the standalone, the L85 is in my opinion the greatest strategic weapon in the game.

I see a lot of ideas posted here and everyone seems to have a different opinion about most things, making the old adage "you can't please all of the people all of the time" glaringly true. I would like to see thermal removed, that is my only request with regard to weapons. Lock up the game from hackers as much as possible and I will enjoy whatever new ideas you and your team come up with. Thanks Rocket, I have sincerely enjoyed my DayZ experience and will support the new game as soon as it is commercially available.

Good morning good peoples. Well as anyone who plays with me regularly knows, I have been spending a lot of time in the unforgiving terrain of Takistan lately. Tonight however at the behest of my clanmates I came back to my first love Chernarus to snipe for my squad, a jaded lover am I because of the endless hacking on that beautiful bitch. We decided to go into US 843, a highly populated server and a favorite of one of my assault guys. We grouped up about 3k east of the NW AF moved in before sundown and commenced looting and perimeter security operations. In the span of two hours I had racked up three kills, TWO of which had hacked weapons on them (I like turtles) and (pimppimppoundthepussy) or some such rot were their names. BOTH of these clowns had radios turtles had the as50 tws and pimp had a g36 and a laser designator which was a new one on me....I buried both of the bodies with all of their gear. This is not an indictment against the admins of US 843, nor an accusation that THEY are hacking. This WILL hopefully raise their awareness however and hopefully get the information necessary from their logs to get these two at least LOOKED at. They may have simply stumbled accross these items, but its worth a look anyway. To the CIA member that I shot on the ladder at the Firehouse...it may be THE most exposed area in the entire region...lesson learned? Anyway, I cannot wait until the standalone, hopefully Rocket and the devs will have these asshats number and we can play where cover and tactics are valid, I wouldnt have lost a man to that tws.50. I would have loved to have been a fly on (I like turtles) wall when I flanked his position and nailed him from his 3 oclock at 30m in his head. For me? Skin is going back to dusty ass Takistan....come holla, but if your armed and not rolling with the squad....you better hope you see me first.

As the title says, I am looking for three dedicated squad members primarily for Takistan. I belong to a clan, there is no need for you to join the clan to become part of this DayZ squad but you can apply if you wish. We are spread out over all of the maps, I have chosen Takistan and Chenarus to spend my time in and want to round off the current squad with a few more able bodied warriors. 1) Hours of operations 7-12 CST 2) Must be a legit player absolutely ZERO tolerance for hacking/combat logging. Trust is a rare commodity in the DayZ world, I MUST be able to trust you. 3) Yes it's a game, but you must play for keeps...it is my intention to engage other squads on a regular basis for combat ops 4) Maturity is a must. ~Skin~

The mere fact that the challenge was not even acknowledged validates my first impression. In case you didn't get the scent from my previous posts, I am as direct and concise with my words as I am with the rounds I send down range....in game or out. As is true with those rounds, once sent there is no going back and I am not a man who second guesses himself often. I stand by my evaluation of you, your opinion as stated in your post and the offer to meet is an open invitation.

I love the concept, and definately want to participate...the single life aspect of it intrigues the hell out of me...I do not envy the administrative challenges I foresee however. If i can help in any way let me know, I am no dev or super computer geek but I can problem solve with the best of them.

This sounds pretty fun but I am wondering what would stop a player from paying their 10 bucks (easily affordable for most) and then simply not engaging in the game. Is there going to be a minimum time requirement on time played in server? This may seem like a "technicality" but you know humans... Your post seemed to dissuade pvp play, was this intentional? The reason I am asking is this seems very much like a "Hunger games" scenario where it would be beneficial in a permadeath environment to dispatch with ones competition PERMANENTLY if you catch my drift ; ). I really appreciate the direction this server will be moving in and having only one life will certainly raise the stakes, what time limit will you put on the game? After a certain time if one player simply hides out and more than one are still alive who will be the winner? Sorry to pepper you with questions, to me they are valid. I hope to see a response you have planted a seed of curiosity that's for sure!

It really depends on what kind of operator you are. If you are running in a squad that has designated assault to "scrape off zombies" and you are a crack shot, take the DMR. I will predicate this opinion with the fact that since I am a sniper, I may be biased...that being said the DMR is a fine weapon. The M14 is the exact same weapon with the exception that it has the red dot scope rather than the variable zoom...a lethal combo of CQ and sniping if you carry both. I run with an M4 cco sd for clearing "geeks" as I call the zeds and an as50 for my sniping duties although the DMR works very well and has the added benefit of working with NVG where the .50 does NOT!! Bottom line? Use every weapon, have a blast and use what feels most comfortable to YOU!!

Rogue makes a good point here and I think this is what the OP was getting at, KOS "bandits" that shoot guys with just a flashlight are counterproductive to what those of us that LOVE this game want. I am a bandit, but I stalk snipers mostly, and engage in squad on squad ops. I would never kill a "freshy" there is no honor in it and I may dissuade a new player from getting to know how much fun this game really can be. That being said the value of KNOWING that there are squads solely devoted to curbing the population of well armed militant groups, adds a flavor of danger to the game to any who travel into the military zones seeking the high end weapons. Knowing that we will be there and we will be watching and at any moment the CRACK of a rifle may end your dream of having that M107 adds to the experience no? That danger makes the game FUN in my opinion and people that DON'T like the aspect of pvp can get into a locked server and play farmville all they LIKE!!!

@ BazBake....so altruism has governed societal progress? I think you need to stop playing with the bacteria my friend, your inability to discern reality from delusion is on full display!! Your figures regarding survivor/bandit mortality rates is laughable, one has only to look at the almost 10-1 survivor to bandit ratio coupled with the over to 4-1 murder to bandit kill figures to bear this out. Because a player chooses to use a tent makes him LESS of a predator?!?! Once again I believe the bacteria are damaging your mind my friend, it only allows me a nice warm and dry place to store all of the things that you used to own before I ended your weak, bitter and pathetic life.
