I dropped my battery and am now looking for another one. How do I send in updates? You can send in news updates from any server so everyone can hear. The updates will be broadcast globally. including shoutouts. Go to DayZRadio.com > "Send a News Update" at the top to send an update for your server. What to update? 1) Bandit locations, especially if they are in groups 2) Safe Locations that have been secured by groups 3) Safe trade locations that are guarded by players for security 4) Transport routes 5) Emergencies i.e. I am dying, this is a broadcast for help near 'X' I would say it has potential to bring out the Emergent gameplay in DayZ. How can i help? Spread it around as much as you can. Word of mouth is key to get this station off the ground. Tell the entire server you are on to listen & Tell your friends and post as many important updates as you can. Can I be a host? For now, no. I am at a church (all broadcasts have been from the same church) I have been at this church for a few days now and have plenty of supplies. When I hear people approaching I hide. I'm not telling you what server i'm on. If you can find me then I will roleplay it out and I will broadcast what you want me to say. If I die. The broadcast will cut out in a dramatic way (execution style or whatever) but I will return for the next broadcast. p.s. This is going to be very much trial and error; so we'll see how it goes... Apologies, technical issues - will be live ASAP I hope it works now... eek

Yeah I had some issues with my DNS host, should be resolved. It's not perfect but it will do for now (changing hosts)

I think it is important to remember that this is a mod and not a game. So maybe it's important to say this mod rather than this game. This is just a shot in the dark but I think the point that rocket is trying to convey is that publishers and developers need to make the descisions to make games that have an actual community. I am only an aspiring developer so I'm not a vessel of knowledge but I will say that the pc gaming industry needs to be as focused on the community around the games as much as they focus on push selling of games; And instead of assuming that all gaming communities are full of children give them free reign as pc gaming history has shown that the community in fact makes the industry. sorry if that doesn't make much sense, I feel like I'm baking in this heat (it's hot in London right now)

I just want to clarify that the idea of creating a Radio station for a game is not new. I used to run a radio station for The Matrix Online a few years ago also. I also think its good to have as many stations as possible to suit other peoples tastes / play styles etc...

If you go onto the website you will see "Send a news update" on the top of the page, that update gets sent to one of my monitors stating what server it is from and then I can announce it Live. I have three monitors, one on the left for song requests/shoutouts the monitor in the middle for controlling music and the monitor on the right for news updates. Doesn't have to be server specific. It's basic and should work fine globally. well... that's the plan ;)

Oh ok, thanks for the heads up blackfuse. It should be set to auto-play though. If not then Ill change it.
