I agree with you to some extent, if there was going to be a skill system, rather than starting off as a specific class (like in dead frontier), as mentioned above, the skill set should go somewhat similar to the elder scrolls (3 and above). As in, the more you do it, the better you get. Also note that this game does have permanent death, and if a player were to die, either they'd lose all of the skills they had earned, or lose a vast quantity. - But then again, a skill system is what confuses me, do we REALLY want a skill system? Would it help the game? -
This message is for all those hackers out there. Just stop. Hacking is a childish and immature. You are not just ruining the game for other people, you are also ruining it for yourself. What fun is it to spawn with the best gear and infinite health and become invincible. Its not fun. Now I don't care who you are, but I just want you to think about it. Even if you did have fun killing off people, think about how much more fun you could have playing the game as it was meant to be played, so please for all hackers that are reading this, just reconsider what you are doing.

First time, I survived for about 4-5 hours, until I ran out of food and did a suicide mission with my shotty, took down about 10 zombies along with me. -

I agree, it would be more fun having different A.I.s added in. A military patrol that shoots anyone on sight sounds not just realistic but would also improve the gameplay, if you think about it, as soon as you hear a car engine, then this just adds to your panick. I would also like to see other types of zombies, e.g. - animal zombies - such as dogs... A character customization is also nice, but not required for such a game, although different clothes would definitely need to be in there, but I think that rocket is also added new clothes into the dayZ standalone. Since that we're on the topic of appearance, I also considered armor, right now, your survivor starts with some sort of protection, whether or not rocket chooses if you start of with one or not is their choice, but I want to see more types of armors being implemented. And armors may provide different benefits, so there isn't a best armor, it depends on your style of play, although there isn't a best armor, there certainly would be some shoddy armor... but what I meant by not having a best armor is certain armors provide different benefits - more protection and less mobility, or you want to be able to get out of situations quickly before you are actually attacked, or would you choose to balance between the two, also take into account 'fatigue', the heavier your armor, the more likely your are to get fatigued. Another choice you would have to make is, do you want more protection against, zombies or against bullets? And while I'm still on the topic of suggestion, maybe a quicker way to heal yourself rather than regenerating it over a large time? And the ability to light a fire in a trash can - sorta like a homeless person would do when it is cold. and this leads me yet to another question - how drastic is the weather system? Is there a possibility of snow? - how often will it snow? Or - how often will it rain? Either way it doesn't matter too much to me, because I'm sure rocket will make the best decisions. BTW This is by far my new favourite game, since I've always talked to my friends about a more real survival based game and how this will work, but I've never once considered permanent death, such a simple but great idea. I like the perma-death so they should definitely keep that. Keep up the good work Rocket! Again, this is just purely my opinion and suggestion. -

I've stumbled across this link: http://www.crydev.net/viewtopic.php?f=308&t=77581 It is a mod for crysis but is still in pre-alpha. Now, this game is no where near the capabilities of dayz, but if possible I want the dayz urban areas to look somewhat similar to this. The images afterwards of the forest.... don't look anywhere near as great. But what I'm also pointing out is that the darkness in this game, should have to be brighter in cities. Because generally when it is too dark, I generally change servers, but I would really like to play in a dark area. So what I'm suggesting is the cities be more brighter like in the pictures...but not that bright. Otherwise people would be afraid to play in servers at night time. This also makes me consider another thing, dual wielder, now don't get angry, what I mean by this is that you should be able to hold a flashlight as well as a pistol, not like dual pistols or anything. I just want to be able to see and have a gun out at the same time. Also, there should be attachments such as flashlights on bigger guns, or possibly a mining helmet as loot (then you won't need a light since its on your helmet). Thanks for reading :) -

Needs more types of zombies aswell. I was wondering why no one held up a sign saying "lets add some animal zombies aswell!" First animal zombie that comes to my mind: Zombie Dog, though there are so much more possibilities.

DayZ Suggestion - That something that DayZ was lacking

Now, I've been playing this game a lot recently and I have to say, this is by far the best mod I've come across. Now to the point. I have noticed there are lacking elements to this game, partially because it is a mod. I will list them below, but this is just the opinion of several people: NOTE: I think the rest has been suggested here: and I have to admit, it had some pretty damn good ideas, some of which I thought of but some never even crossed my mind. Go check it out. Food and water are hard for new players to come across. I like many of the people I play with die because I was missing water or food. If this game aims to be realistic, you'd need to go without water for several days, but this time is too long obviously. But I reccommend increasing the time before getting thirsty though. Location is very important, and I consider this the MOST important factor that this game is lacking. The location is far to tropical. There needs to be a change between the two, the urban areas are all farm-like or industrial. There should be a large contrast between the two. There should be cities and towns as well as tropical areas in which you would need to cross to reach other cities (unless of course you take the road - which is far more dangerous) You start the game after being killed and want to meet up with your friends but you can't due to the fact you are lost or too far away. So there should be something that allows you to choose where you spawn - obviously this area would need to be limited, e.g. if they want to keep the fact you spawn on beaches, then you should be able to choose where on the beach you spawn so that you can meet up with your friends otherwise it would be a great nuisance trying to meet your friend and dying when you actually meet up with them. I only think of this as a maybe, A.I. Survivors? or bandits? Danger zones and safe zones. Danger zones are where there are signs saying to stay away as the area is heavily infected and have zombies everywhere. Safe zones can be either one of two things, which ever everyone thinks is better. Safe zone - players cannot kill each other and there is a trading system in that area. Or safe zones may be areas which are much less infected. Safe zones may be attacked by zombies in which players may ditch he area or help defend it (like an outpost attack in dead frontier). Safe zones may be an area in a city or underground. Zombies are also now attracted to light, yes fire and torches now increases the chance of you getting spotted by a zombie. But then you can throw a flare which zombies then run away from you :D Players should also be able to hole up in a house by barricading themselves. The barricades can be destroyed obviously but will not attract the zombies attention unless they see you inside the house in which Get out somehow our your screwed. Other players can enter barricaded places with enter system if the player inside opens the barricade for them.Or they can just destroy the barricade XD Maybe a roleplaying system of some sort? Possibly? Again, this is a maybe. -

Playing as a zombies sorta ruins the game for me... and I find that DayZ loses it's uniqueness. It becomes more like left 4 dead, where some people WANT to be zombies. Don't like this idea at all, but then again it might be just me.

Also, the bandit system, I forgot the mention and I haven't seen it anywhere YET. I think that self defense should not make you a bandit. Another thing is armor. Do we start with some armor like in dayz right now? maybe we start with a shoddy one, or none at all. But then we should be able to find gear such as armor as we progress into the game. Its needs a dehydration sorta thing, it is mentioned, but another thing I would like to add is hallucination> which could be from dehydration or taking drugs - certain drugs buff you be increasing speed or something for a certain duration but may or may not have negative effects after. And again I'm not sure about this idea: If you are a bandit, you may find certain clothes in the game which flag you as a surivor? -

Everyone is a survivor, but picking a class? That's not what DayZ is about.....sorry but I have to disagree with you on that
