  1. What? If maps are sold separately, how would that work out? Where will my character spawn if I played on one map and joined another, or do I need to create a character for each map? That also makes me think of an idea, I wouldn't exactly call it a suggestion because I'm not sure what impacts there are or even whether it is a good/bad idea? But anyway, what about being able to create more than 1 character?
  2. No -.- just no. This would ruin the game immensely. Yes, there needs to be more types of zombies, but not some overpowered mutants. By this I mean, zombies dogs, bears, even crows, or even zombies piranhas, and the difference between a fat zombie (slower but more health), a normal zombie, and a thin one (faster but less health) and a soldier zombie (normal speed but more health) etc... So if you want a mutant zombie, go play resident evil, or left 4 dead, that's what they are there for.
  3. And another suggestion - now this depends very much on the number of people purchasing the game, and how many people the server can hold. I think that the map needs to be bigger, possibly 2 major islands (about 65-85% of the map in Dayz mod atm) and several smaller islands surrounding it. Also the islands are connected by a bridge, or you could get a rowboat or something to cross, or even swim it and probably get sick. The contents of the island may be something like this - The bigger island have much bigger towns and cities (since in my point of view, an infection would be much more fun in big cities), and the smaller island would be the danger zone - military places, lots of ambush and sniping spots, but also a area with good loot - though I'm not saying all the good loot are on a single island. And as I said before, a revised weather system. Times when there are lots or little sunlight, lots or little rain so that it isn't the same, and fog, DEFINITELY fog - especially in higher areas like mountains. And 1 more thing, also with the character customization, I was wondering, whether or not the type of clothes you wear affect temperature in any way? Like a singlet comparable to a military jacket as well as a jumper and t-shirt underneath? Will this affect temperature in anyway?
  4. I guess so, but in a way, it seems to me that the game itself isn't as scary as 1. When I first played the game, and 2. As much as I think it should be. Rocket said that he was going to make it a more scarier world, so I thought that this might add to it.
  5. Just a small suggestion, but I didn't see it anywhere, but an maybe haunted looking mansion with dead trees around and with squeaky doors, and floors? It would would fun to loot a large building, especially when you have to move slowly and very cautious when opening/closing doors. Maybe a secret entrance? - one that's not too hard to find like pull the lever and the fireplace will turn around - that kinda stuff. Also possibly scary portraits of people as if they are looking at you, and maybe a little history about the mansion itself? e.g. "It was said that Lord Vigaro of the Manor used to live here several generations ago. Kids that kick their ball over were to afraid to go nearby this house. Apparently, it was believed that this house was haunted, although several kids brave enough to enter the mansion had not been seen again. And it got even worse after Vigaro's death, It seemed, that the new house owners fled the house within 3 weeks, and several construction workers went missing during the demolition of this mansion, so it was called off. Now, it seems, at times, a more safe and welcoming place rather than staying outside and risk being infected or attacked."
  6. I'd only joined one and left it straight away due to a misclick on the wrong server, next thing I know, I log in to another server and my character is gone. WTF?

Quick Change in servers lead to death

This really killed the game for me. I had a lot of good shit. Lots of food and water, all the secondary items such as map, gps, hunting knife, hatchet .... etc and a M14A with red dot scope with lots of ammo, ghilie suit... I mean its just wrong, I didn't do anything wrong yet I was punished, thats mainly why I'm pissed.

    Box of goodies?

I was walking along the coast when I saw a tiny little box, I thought it was unusual, and probably was unlootable. To my surprise, when I came up close, it was in fact, lootable, and had a whole ton of stuff in it. This 'box of goodies' had many guns, all the medical supplies as well as food and water and other stuff. Now, is this just a glitch, or bug or some hacker put it there? What is it?

    Box of goodies?

    Really?
  16. Its sort of a safe haven, but think of this, 1. It's hard to get in, and also hard to get out. 2. Its rare to find an access card (also it can only be found in dangerous military areas) 3. Other players may already be in that area.
  17. Suggestion 1: Military Fortress built to withstand bombing runs and such. You can enter this area with a access card (very rare) found from a high ranking dead military personel. Once inside you can close the gates which will prevent zombies from entering, this area will have weapons and other military gear inside. This area is also a bunker and will have food and water, though there may be other players already inside. Certain military fortresses may be occupied by A.I.s that may refuse or accept your entry request or just shoot you on sight. Also be warned, that this area will be infested with zombies, so even if you do have a access card, getting in will be hard. Suggestion 2: Dead bodies should have loot respective to who is dead. e.g. Police officer will most likely have a pistol, or rarely a shotgun. Soldiers will have a much more powerful gun, or no guns (since they may already be taken by someone else). Suggestion 3: To be able to see blood trails, possibly from stepping on blood your shoes will leave a mark on the ground for a short duration. This can become as a warning to another player. Suggestion 4: Buddy system perhaps? Players on your buddy list will have their name appear green when your cursor is on them, other players will have white names. Suggestion 5: Scale walls using ropes, grapling hook, or 'wall climbing machetes' (which was suggested by someone else). Suggestion 6: Possibly a hunting ground. Where there are huts in which you can find weapons such as a knife, bow/crossbow or hunting rifle. A hunting ground will have more animals around and possibly a river in which you can rifill your water. Maybe a rowboat as well? That would be cool and add a bit of diversity to the vehicles. Suggestion 7: A more complex weather system. The addition of fog (especially when higher up mountains), possibly snow? A more differentiable sun - as in, at times there will be more light than other times. Different levels of rain downpour - heavily, light, thunderstorm. And this may flood up certain areas forcing you to swim across, or use a rowboat. A full moon/ hald moon, you' know, that kinda stuff. Suggestion 8: Radios, (also can be heard in cars) tell the player of certain events e.g. A military convoy carrying N2 Infected zombies has just been attacked, no further details have been given, but we will keep you up to date. Or other players using a mic in a radio station sending messages to other players. Players can switch frequencies (normal radio, music, or player communications). Radios also create noise, so be careful, and use when your sure there are no zombies nearby. Suggestion 9: A more apocalyptic scenery. Right now the towns are too small, they should be much larger like a city. And there should be houses that are already barricaded, and the windows are boarded. The glass in some buildings will already have been destroyed. Also the ability to close - open blinds which will hide your presence from other players and zombies (and removes light inside). Suggestion 10: A larger diversity of animals, deers, bears, wolves....(which cry out during the night and start growling when players are nearby.
  18. Now most of these ideas are great, but as for the class system, many have tried to impress me with a class system, and all have failed, but you have come quite close to what is possible to be as a good addition. I can see a problem where many people would play as a soldier, and the fact that cars take less damage when you are a civilian is just silly. The classes are unbalanced by a mile. I believe, if they do incorporate some sort of class system it may be a good idea to have different starting points for whatever class they pick, and maybe an 'tutorial' (not really) of what happened as the outbreak just happened. e.g. if you picked soldier, you would've been called to the front lines in this 'tutorial' although your tutorial character after some time would be overwhelmed and killed - since you ran out of ammo or something. The character that you actually play as is a soldier that fled from battle after realising it was a hopeless battle. This also means you may begin with no gun, or low ammo. I could say more, but I'll just keep it short. Otherwise ideas are great.
  19. Yes that is an important factor, but melee weapons may have different combat abilities, e.g. knife may have faster attack speed, less range and less damage, whereas a axe is slow, longer ranged and much more damage, a critical system may even be applied, but I agree with you, melee weapons should have a secondary use, though I'm not saying that all weapons would. Another player suggested, wall climbing machetes, which could be a second use for machete.
  20. I like the aspect of climbing walls, so I'll add what I think. Maybe your character should be able to climb walls using grappling hooks, or a clip-on type like in call of duty (used for climbing down and not up). Another thing, I disagree with the fact that your character does not know how to use a gun, you say its easy to hotwire a car, but it's also easy to use a gun. Another problem is that in your 9th idea, I very much like the idea of a large storm, especially if it has thunder in it. The problem is that you say that it 'forces' your character into a tent or out of the rain. Now the problem hits here: 1. you can't force someone to go out of the rain, its stay out and risk your life, or go somewhere safe, another thing is, a tent isn't going to protect you from a storm. Otherwise these ideas are good, though I'm not so sure about the rest of your ideas.
  21. Sorry if this was mentioned, and it is a small suggestion, but I think it would be great if your character could just drink straight from the pond, and also be able to collect water when its raining.
  22. The weather system is a quite big factor of the game. I'm just putting this out, do we want extreme weather conditions? Like snow - to the extent of blizzards (massively reduces vision) - that is if there will be snow in the game at all. But I would like to see more than just simple rain, e.g. if it does rain, I want it to have different levels, sprinkling, raining heavily.... And another thing while I'm throwing out suggestions, I should add in more unique loot spots, such as a dead body... even in the trash, the closet... roof or basement, but while saying this, loot should be found specific to their characteristics, e.g. a gun would most likely be found in military zones. And while on the topic of the military, would it be a good idea to have A.I. soldiers patrolling an area shooting any players and zombies on sight.
  23. I totally agree with you, I really want some sort of buddy, or squad system. I want to be able to add players, but I'm not sure whether this would ruin the authenticity of the game, but I wouldn't mind too much if they chose not to include it. I just hope they have better servers, since I tend to lose track of my friends because of the lag.
  24. And also, for me, the map is a big factor for me. This is only my opinion, but DayZ was very lacking in urban areas, and I wish to see that the map has both tropical and urban areas. The map needs to get bigger as more and more people begin to play the game, this also leads to servers containing a much larger quantity.
