Why am I doomed to die of thirst while standing in the middle of a lake with no water bottle?

This is a bug? I always thought about it as a feature. So, yes, I am serious. I think it was a pretty nice thing to not attract more zombies, but be heard by other players. Edit: The changelog calls it * [uPDATED], not * [FIXED], so I think it wasn't a bug, right?

Yesterday was the first time ever I met someone who saved my life. Near the hospital in Cherno and down to 3500 blood I was as good as dead. I asked for help in the direct communication channel and got an answer from "Survivor". He came up to me, attached a bllod bag and gave me a M911 SD with five rounds. For free! Thank you, buddy! You restored by believe in humanity!

This might be true, but I just took a random, cool looking sniper rifle. I guess that's what most unexperienced players would do in this situation. I still habe no clue what weapon I took, I will find out when I connect to a server tonight.

No, I am sorry, I don't remember. It is sniper rifle with a very good sighting telescope, a 30 round magazine (something with NATO mun) and some kind of pedestal mounted on it.

Thanks, that's a relief. I assume you are sure? After searching around a bit I think I have a gun now that's only in ARMA II, but not DayZ. Damn cheaters, silly me :-) Edit: To slow, thanks to all, I will throw the stuff away!

Hi folks, I am an absolute newbie at DayZ and untill yesterday I didn't even know about scripting or cheating. Yesterday I found a box in a barn. This box was full of guns and gear and everything. I thought "Haha, great", took some valueable stuff and ran away. Walked around for 30 min, killed some zombies and finally logged of. This morning I talked to a friend, he called me an idiot for taking stuff out of a cheated "ammobox" and that I will become globally banned the next time I log onto a server. Now, what to do? Can I get rid of this stuff and start with a new character? What can I do to avoid to be banned? I don't think I'm banned yet, but how tio be sure? Any help is appreciated! Best Regards Fussel
