I know next to nothing about Steak and Potatoes, but you could check his post history and his website for his private server if he has one (website). A private server at this point in the game (with the hacking that is taking place) is probably the best way to play. I would PM him if your interested and get more info. Some private servers have some different rules and loot spawns et cetera.

I think it's a great virtual social experiment myself, not that it was or was not intended to be. I have no idea of the intentions of the devs when making this game, but I think it has become this. I think there is some correlation between how players play the game and what kind of person they truely are in real life. I think a neurologist or a psychiatrist could have a field day studying this correlation. It's one of the major factors of why the game became such a hit, imo.

You seem like a sensible guy and your story seems legit. Go talk to them on thier forums and see about getting unbanned. If you tell it like you did here, they would have to be assholes not to unban you.

I have found several M14's at crash sites. Other than that, tents are your best bet then the barracks in the NW airfield and barns for the CZ550. I have found a dmr a few times at medium yeild military loot spots like the Bolota air strip and NE airfield.

If you carry the G17, you should be picking up a PDW anytime you come across one JMP. It can take those 17 rounds clips from the G17. It can also take MP5 and MP5 sd rounds, M9 and M9 sd rounds, and of course those 30 round PDW rounds and PDWsd.

No, I didn't. I thought most of your advice was pretty obvious, but I may have overestimated the intellegence of the noob player base once again.

The DMR is one of my favorite snipers. You have to get a handle on shooting it though, but once you do, it will shoot as fast as you can pull the trigger. The m4a1 cco sd is overrated imo. It's only really good for zombie kills and the mp5 sd and bizon is better for that job. Hell, for me, one of the best set ups is having the m14 or dmr as your main and a pdw as a side(it uses so many different types of ammo and is good for z's).

I also prefer the m14 to the DMR. I think it comes down to the sights for me. I think the DMR is a great gun though as well. If your venturing out at night with NVG's, then definately go with the DMR. As for the FAL, it does great damage but I never really liked the gun myself. It is very loud, the ammo is rare, and the sights are shit in my opinion. The m4 cco sd can be a good gun for zeds, but not so much for pvp. I personally love the mp5 sd for zeds or the bizon if I don't have an mp5 sd so I never really use the m4.

Yeah, your not a script kiddie or anything >:( . I think those that are buying scripts are giving themselves away by giving "so" much respect to hackers and acting like they are the one's who actually wrote the damn thing. ( watching a youtube video on how to copy/paste some code doesn't make you a programmer you d*mbsh*tm*th*rf*ck*r!) I am a coder by trade and would never use any bullshit cheat in this game. I have currently taken a break from the game until I see what the standalone will offer ( as I feel that a lot of players have done).

The problem you'll have with upgrading your gpu is that you will just bottleneck the cpu if you go with a higher end video card and won't get your money's worth out of it. You could go with a fairly cheap one and won't have much of a problem with it. I think you can get a slight upgrade for around 50 bucks (us) if you drop the card in yourself.

I've come to love the M14. I think the sights are some of cleanest looking in the game and like others have mentioned, it is good for close quarters and doubles as a decent sniper. Also, like someone already mentioned, DMR mags are everywhere. Personally, I don't like the FAL's iron sights at all and the NV scope FAL makes that gun junk during the day.

The biggest problem I had with my first spawn was try to figure out that oh so intuitive backpack and I ended up dropping it somewhere along the way (pack that is) trying to switch to a better one. I ended up running around for a bit until I realized that I didn't have a pack anymore.

You should be able to run the game on default settings (high) with ease if you have a good internet connection.

I'm pretty sure you don't become a bandit from going under 0 humanity. I think it's when you hit -2500, but might be -3000. You will get a hero skin at +5000 humanity. And no, it doesn't reset when you die. In my opinion, I think it should regen in direct correlation with the amount of zombies you kill (murders should still count against you at a much higher rate). Lets just say for every 100 Z's you kill you can get back 1000 humanity.

It's not always true about the high pop. servers are the only ones with hackers, but it helps to avoid them. If you skip around on the servers to find a good one, you might end up finding one. I did this (it took weeks if not months to do) and found a few that I have never found any hackers on. I had an experience with a hacker earlier today (was playing on a server that I wasn't too sure about but was after a bicycle, so I didn't mind if I died because they only spawn near the south coast to my knowledge and I was way up north). I had a hacker spawn in behind me with a full kit and shot at me with a m4a1 cco sd and he hit me in the leg and broke it. He shot again before I could get a shot on him and it knocked me out cold. I sat there and bled as he approached me and to my surprize, he didn't finish me off as he sat there going through my pack. I came to, and shot the guy in the face about 30 times with my bizon. This was one of the most satisfying kills that I have gotten in this game even though it gave me a murder for some reason.

If the zombies could run indoors and get to you when you hug up against a tree or a bush, they would be much more of a threat. I think these two things alone would drastically change how people play the game.

I logged into this server before reading this thread and was instantly killed upon logging in and sent to the wilderness without any gear at all(mind you, I was well geared and far to the north when I spawned in). I would not recommend using this server and I have a feeling the admins are involved in the cheat scripting because there was only a handfull of people on when I joined.

I have had hackers kill me twice in the past 3-4 days instantly when I spawn in, then it sends me to somewhere in the wilderness without actually respawning. I have nothing at all on me and when I join a different server, I spawn with nothing at all on me including a pack or anything else. This shit makes me just want to wait it out until the standalone and not even log in until then.

I was thinking the same thing when I was reading his story. I do give you props for waiting it out so long before something happened though. I would have grown impatient and ventured out of the building I think(although I don't think that I would have fired shots accidentally in the first place).
