I think it was said that standalone would be released before the end of 2012. In my opinion, Rocket should just release it now as buggy filled as it might be as long as the core material is in place.

I realized something today when a hidden shotgunner emptied two shells of pellets into my unarmed person. I realized that killing on sight is not what I thought prior to be simple caveman logic. Killing on sight is the only survival strategy that cannot fail. As long as you are observant, patient and skillful you cannot die by any legitimate means. You are invincible so long as you know what you're doing. That being said, I don't know completely what I'm doing. I make mistakes constantly and die because of them. Through practice I will become better and eventually will be unable to be killed. It is then that I will truly reach endgame. With all of that out, know that I do not kill people simply because I see them and I can take the shot. Never will I become the sniper on the hill near Elektro, or the Balota camper. If a player is not in my way, that player does not need to die. If you're going to go about shouting "friendly", good luck. You're going to be reading "You Are Dead" much more often than I am.

I'm not going to sit on a hill and kill people for no reason. I do , however, use sniper rifles.
