KOS is a type of murder in DayZ. It is considered to be especially evil by the community. You took the time to get close to them and earn their trust before you killed them. I personally KOS anyone with a gun. When I spot someone with a gun, I try to kill them. I am a bandit. People who KOS unarmed players are really looked own upon by the community. People consider it extra evil because killer stands to gain nothing, and also because unarmed players are defenseless. But hey, you can shoot at whoever you feel like. Thus is DayZ.

I would love to travel to new maps. I think escaping Chernarus would be a cool endgame. You would have to gather a shitload of supplies to fix a large vehicle. Maybe a c130 or a boat. Once it is repaired and fueled, you and some friends can jump on and escape, 'winning the game'. Now those characters are moved to a new hive on a new map. The new hive would only contain other players that have made the same journey. You cannot respawn on the new map though. The only way to get there is by escaping from chernarus. If you chose, you could start a new character and play on the old hive. Gameplay on the other hive would be interesting. No bambis, only skilled that truly value their lives.

Hey guys. FUCKING SA IS OUT OMGWTFBBQ. Anyway I've been thinking of ways to kill players without damaging their gear. Giving them a transfusion of the wrong blood seems like a good choice. Does anyone know if its possible to kill a player with a syringe? Maybe by injecting alcohol or something? Any other ideas on how to kill players without destroying their shit?

The crossbow is really just a novelty item right now. I am sure someone will comment and say "i get kills all the time with the cross bow". Maybe thats true, but they would be getting more with the double barrel. So yeah the crossbow sucks against players. It just can't compete with other primaries. If the crossbow was made a secondary though, I think it would get much more use. You could have compltely silent secondary as opposed to a Markov SD, or whatever is getting used these days. So r4zor if you see this, xbow as a secondary in 1.9 please.

The Problem As most of you probably know, r/dayz is a shitty subreddit. Given that this is the forums, most of you probably know this. Many people have given up hope on it, and only check it for news from the great Kiwi. Very little constructive discussions go on there. Because of the nature of a forum, the discussions here are better. There is no karma whoring on a forum, and everyone's voice can be heard. This forum is definitley the place to discuss DayZ news, and gameplay, but it is not the ideal place to share original content. Don't get me wrong, many great things have come out of these forums. (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=t3d2ZAgla94) But forums do not allow for maximum exposure and consumption of original content. The format of Reddit is better suited to that, but currently r/dayz is unable to fill that role. There are too many trolls, 12 year olds, and people just waiting for SA.The result is DayZ videos, songs, guides, etc. posted there get downvoted very fast. Just about the only thing r/dayz is good for is to read people complain about KOS. The Solution http://www.reddit.com/r/dayzoc I recently created a new subreddit to solve this problem, r/dayzoc. It is a place to post, consume, and discuss DayZ related Original Content. This includes guides, songs, gameplay, and images. As of right now, two youtubers have posted their videos, and there are a handful of subscribers. The DayZ community is very good at creating original content, but lacks a centralized location to propagate it. Hopefully r/dayzoc can fill that void. If you've been inspired by my little call to arms, then go check it out. It is getting pageviews, so I know people are interested, but right now it is lacking in content. If youv'e just written a guide on surviving Podagorsk, or you just recorded a sick video of shooting down a huey with a makarov, consider posting it there. This has been attempted before with r/True_DayZ and r/dayzvideos, but neither took off. I have given up trying to get the word out on reddit, as the hive mind downvotes dissenters. I am very busy with college right now, so i barely have time to play DayZ, much less moderate a subreddit. Ideally this takes off, and someone else more responsible and qualified than me can moderate it. So please check it out and tell your friends, family, and enemies about r/dayzoc. peace :beans:
