These forums do seem a little stale now adays as far as discussion goes. But yes, they are still better than reddit. One thing this community is good at constantly creating is quality videos, guides, blahblahblah etc. They post them on reddit and they get downvoted. I think that is a crime. Also, please don't take away my superiority complex, its all i have.

Good point blue man, but like i said eariler, subreddits that have a tight focus are more successful. How long have you been a dinosaur for? i remember when you were a wee little lad on these forums. As I recall you used to have a black g with a red background as your first avatar. Like I said. I lurk on these forums quite a bit. I much perfer these forums over reddit, but there is one thing which reddit is good at. Why not exploit that?

the best thing we have here is the thread of videos that griff started (which i shamelessly advertised on). But that thread is just a list. Good content can't really stand out here like it might be able to on a good subreddit. Reddit is a romantic idea, which doesnt really work as intended. It is horrendous when it comes to hosting intelligent discussions, but the upvote down vote system is very suited to identfying good Original Content, when that is what the audience is seeking. Advice Animals works because everyone there is looking for image macros to make them chuckle. Cringe works because everyone there is looking for stuff to make them cringe. r/dayz tries to serve too diverse a group. There are people there that downvote everything not standalone related. There are people there who only want to endlessly bitch about KOS. Not enough people are looking for good OC to make it stand out.

max, i hope your not suggesting that you pad your post count. We all know you are the most constructive member of this community. But yeah, rocket likes reddit which is kinda horseshit, because the forums are where its at. The forums will always be my home. I've spent more hours lurking here than actually playing DayZ. The thing is this isnt the best place to share cool shit that people create. People end of posting it on reddit and no one sees it. I think a new subreddit is a solid solution.

Hey I just started a new subreddit. You beautiful Original Content creators should check it out. r/dayz has turned into an awful cluster fuck. The hive mind no longer up votes good content. Perhaps it is because there are too many 12 year olds. Perhaps everybody is sick and tired of the SA not being released. Whatever the reason, it is broken beyond repair. I just created www.reddit.com/r/dayzoc as a place for Original Content related to dayz, to be posted and seen. I really hope this works. Please spread the word.

in an interview Rocket confirmed something of the sort, but it was more of a global thing. Like there would be 1 thermal sighted weapon on the entire main hive. Having only 1 of an item is kind of silly, but this would be the best way to control the high end and ultra high end weapons. If there were 500 as50s and 2,000 dmrs for a million players the game would be more of a poor man's apocalypse.

I feel like I have conquered and unraveled virtually every important spot on the map. I have a firm grasp on the specific strategies of cherno, elektro, berezino, nw, neaf, balota. But one place I don't understand Starry. Every time I visit there I feel like I am doing something wrong. Some of the time this feeling is reinforced by getting cut in half by an akm or popped by a dmr. What is the strategy of looting Starry? What are tips to avoid or win engagements in Starry? I usually have one other person with me. Where should one of us over watch? thanks :beans:

Here are some questions I have about clans in our lovely little game. How large are clans generally How many members do the largest ones have? What is the minimum amount of people to constitute a clan? Are there small clans which are any good? Who has the coolest clan tag? Thanks :beans:
