The fine print is awesome king beans, I tried out 82nd's server run by dlcoates they have a teamspeak and are listed in the private hive section. The server has alot of additions that make ingame a new experience and the player base there I came across has all been friendly including the two admins. I also have been playing breaking point a bit which is hosted by the zombie infection all the staff are nice guys and extremely helpful over there and the servers are well taken care of if your interested. The player base seems pretty good interms of teaming up and their forums and teamspeak make it easier to create groups for the night. The above listed I got a good ping on both between 30-45 for NWUS

Use dayz commander dont check the box in settings for launch in windowed mode.

First are you using steam, on that note did you buy dayz through steam or do you have actual copies of arma 2 and arma 2 OA? Also are you using dayz commander to load into servers?

Its a glitch with the current version. Jump into the driver seat of the hilux then jump out and apply repairs to the tire and it will work. Make sure no one else jumps in the vehicle whilst your repairing.

Your playstyle should reflect on how you feel. Get used to the game dynamics and see how it treats you. I wouldn't adopt insta kill on sight status unless that is what your aiming for. Alot of good dayz exp comes from meeting people, getting screwed or getting a great night and meeting new friends. Just play around a little bit first and see what you would like to do with your ultimate goals. I too came from console and took the medic route never turned back since. Some nights I get shot others I joyride with randoms signing road songs for hours.
