Click on the magazine in your inventory and remove the ammunition from the magazine. Make sure you have inventory space for the ammo to go to as the ammo and mag will each take up inventory slots and trying to remove them on the ground just seems to make the ammo vanish for me. EDIT: Disregard misread OP. Feel free to kick me in the nuts. -

Its in one the most uncommonly viewed areas (ANNOUNCEMENTS) -
This exactly, map wise you will want to start getting yourself oriented to the main coast line so when you spawn in you can start relating different features to get your bearings.

Put the map into your hotbar and which ever number it is assigned to press that to pull up your ingame map i.e. 1,2,3,4.

How the FRACK do I open canned food?? Patch not working??

Whats the status of your items are they damaged. I have seen only success with the screwdriver so far in terms of opening canned foods. As said before be patient the new builds are rolling through quickly and these are known issues they are working to fix. Regards, Steak. -

You can try this to see if it works out Go to Documents > DayZ and open DayZ.cfg in Notepad. Change GPU_MaxFramesAhead and GPU_DetectedFramesAhead to = 1. -

With the zombie spawn pattern I just run figures 8's with an axe paint the town red then loot the area when there are no more. -
No, I had one used on me after getting extremely dehydrated to the point where my screen was black and white ish and it healed me up.
