Is this another DayZ SA discussion in the mod forum? "Offline mode" for the DayZ mod is as simple as running your own Reality or Pwnoz0r private hive server on your own PC, joining it with your client on the same machine ... my laptop can do it FFS! For an OOBE DayZ SP experience have a look at Daizy, the packaged SP mod.

The Alpha is trying to test features right now, not limit them. Alpha means the feature set is not finalised. Some of what you see now may not make the final cut, or may be drastically altered. Don't forget, the game mechanics need to be right before the game play is refined, so how will that be achieved by making everything scarce? I too think there are too many military bases ... for the FINAL game ... but understand the need to include a large number of things to get them tested. What we have the opportunity to do, apart from provide sufficient warm bodies, is provide useful feedback to help shape the final game.

The solution to KoS is ... don't risk your neck going where you are most likely to be seen .. and shot ... unless you are willing to take the consequences. That is what the OP is saying. Avoid trouble if you don't want trouble! Simples.

And guess what? You're entitled to see it that way, just don't expect everyone else to ... you will be very disappointed. I am not on any side and don't think choice should be removed from the whole game to suit one side or the other.

Choice is opinion, you may yet discover that many choices in life have little to do with fact. Especially when it comes to entertainment. Which is paid for. @ZenekZombie ... oh no not another one ... I don't agree so I don't understand? Wrong. I just don't agree.

Rent your own server, set the rules, use whatever means at your disposal to impose them. Ta-Da! PvE server in a nutshell. Obvious is obvious :emptycan:

Given that it would be a CHOICE between 1P and 3P ... you do realise how ridiculous what you posted actually is? :lol: That's as daft as not letting players reduce their screen brightness to zero, in case they CHOOSE to be at a disadvantage. :emptycan:

Erm, OP ... because we have a sandbox game, not described anywhere as a hardcore sim ... "what you make of it" is rattling around somewhere. Oh and I can focus from about six inches to as far as my eyes have resolution ... just because it is difficult to reproduce in a video game doesn't mean it shouldn't be attempted. -
Because choice is often better than imposition in a sandbox and disabling a feature just to deny that choice and for no other sake is absurd. :P

It is a GAME ... that form of entertainment that is taken as such, by those who don't need a valid reason to disagree with such an imposition on their paid-for product and leisure time. I am for neither side. I am for choice. The feature has deliberately been included by the developers ... just like it was left in the mod. I feel I have no choice but to put it bluntly ... Want to play in the sandbox your way? Then rent a server and set it up to your liking. Can't do that right now? Have some patience, or go rent a mod server and set that up to your liking until the option is available.

Sorry mate, that is such a common misconception nowadays. I am not missing the point, neither do I misunderstand, I simply do not agree. One side should not impose over the other in this sandbox.

Hey OP ... How about you file a USEFUL feedback report in the bug tracker. Useful means no bad language, no whining and nothing more than exactly what happened in your best attempt at describing the circumstances. How about that instead of "Suck up the Alpha" ... that goes for all those who keep using that stupid mantra as well. Encourage people to report what happens as simply and accurately as they can. Its the WHOLE POINT of this phase of development. -
Third person view should be a server setting and not removed by default. Choice is often better than imposition. That way the real preference will be seen by players voting with their e-feet.
