  1. In my opinion a zombie should never spawn within a considerable radius of any player. Just seeing them pop into existence sucks visually, its unrealistic, and its just unfair when you are in a situation that you consider to be safe. Why not once a city/town has been cleared zombies can spawn in the surrounding wilderness/woods (out of view and range of players) and then wonder back into the settlements to repopulate. After all the map is large enough, and the players few enough to allow for this.

  3. It would be great if you could (with a direct hit) set a zombie on fire with a flare! This would really help out in the "oh fuck I'm outta ammo" situations and furthermore could act as a distraction to other perusing Zombies. Maybe the effect could be based on chance rather than guaranteed, so as not to be overpowered, but even so it would add a really useful tool to your arsenal of escape tactics.
  4. I couldn't agree more with this point! In my opinion the player needs to move slightly faster than the zombies so that in a straight out sprint for your life you can gradually make ground between yourself and the horde. I also think that the zombies moving in more of a lumbering run would be better than a full on sprint, not only mechanically but also visually. Being the brain dead, uncoordinated things that they are, they could also occasionally stumble and fall affording you some valuable seconds to escape. and once putting enough distance between yourself and the zeds they need to give up. On a side note it would be great to be able light a flare straight into your hand (rather than throw it and pick it up) while running. so when being chased at night through the woods you would at least have a chance of seeing what your up against, and turning to shoot them down. That is all. :)
