Was at Cherno industrial building next to the crane looking for an axe, found one, turned out there was a sniper in a ghillie up above me with a DMR, he saw me and said "Hey Buddy." and then attempted to hip fire at me I avoided the bullets and made several attempts to catch him with the axe, success, I landed a hit and he was bleeding, he managed to get lucky and sprayed me, I died, shortly after he died too, it was a draw :P

Came back to DayZ after a 3 month break, to find this...(VIDEO)

Yeah it sucks, as soon as there are any signs of hacking on the private server I play on I abort, it's a shame because the server is really nice but it appears to be under constant attack from script kiddies. I still play on it, it doesn't deter me from playing the game as I can usually get a good hour, it's just an inconvenience. But standalone is just around the corner now so not long to wait :D -
To me a bandit is a person who kills someone for better gear. they are not honorable. The types that camp the coastal towns and kill bambis just for fun are not bandits, they are simply PoS, Pieces of Shit. As soon as there's one on a server, whoever has it in their ability to take them down should do so. It's sad to say that there are servers run by clans who do shoot new spawns.

Battle Royale anyone? Anyways once the admin/owner finds out they'll reset the server and ban the script kid, that's win enough for me.

What if you only had one life in DayZ.

It'd be interesting to see if it would actually work, if you can get rid of the problem of bandits sniping new spawns. Instead of buying a full price game the game might cost only £5/$7.50 initially + 1 character life and then £1/$1.50 for an extra life. You'd still get those players that would kill for fun and would get even more of a kick knowing that the player they just killed has to spend a little more to get another character, but even then you'd definitely get more of a buzz, could even become addictive. So far this is the only game that gets my heart racing, I get such a rush from interacting with other players whether it's a fire fight, or teaming up whilst wondering if I can trust them, or sneaking around trying to hide, I find myself coming back to this game on a regular basis and can't wait for standalone. -
Hey guys, I'm just gonna jump straight into it, Not all buildings decrease your detectability from zeds, hiding behind walls, wooden/concrete, should decrease your sight, aswell as trees, bushes, wrecks, etc. There's been many a time when I've be sneaking alongside a building and attracting a huge amount of zeds or getting unwanted attention from hiding behind a wall. Zeds have a ridiculous amount of detection like a walking radar with teeth. Something has to be done, for the mod and SA.

Survivor camps/bases/houses + ingame money!
CptMugwash replied to trexeth's topic in DayZ Mod Suggestions
There is already a mod for this minus the zombies, it's called The Wasteland Mod, 3 sides, BluFor, OpFor, Independent, it features base building, plenty of vehicles, team work, objectives, and money to buy guns and other things. IDK about the playing cards, sounds fun, I'd like to see more animations like that dance one, but have some different ones and maybe be able to dance with other players like a tango or a walse, also a simple wave and make the surrender animation so you're able to walk. -
Needs to have a poll... Vehicle changes
CptMugwash replied to arkaeldren's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
Definitely agree with faster offroad speeds for non offroad vehicles but it's up to a player on how they control that because if you rev up and speed off on mud or grass then the wheels should spin and flick muck everywhere so you'd have to take it easy anyways, atleast when starting, and if you turn too sharply on these surfaces you should skid and maybe spin out a bit. Also windscreen wipers, even if they're just aesthetics and come on automatically when it's raining, it'd be a nice touch of detail, maybe when you hit a zombie or player a bit of blood splats on the screen or if the head impacts the windscreen it cracks a bit. I'm sure Rocket has said that the vehicle system is getting a big overhaul, reinforcing would be cool like by adding extra scrap metal and stuff you can reinforce your bus, upgrading it to a battle bus, -
I think we can all do without, without them you don't get douche bags that hack and dupe them. I wonder what they'll have in SA...

You forgot farming. Spade, shovel, pitchfork, hoe, various seeds for corn, wheat, etc, you could plant orchards and vegetables, also tame and breed animals and use the tractor to plough fields :P -
Better hidden Tents
CptMugwash replied to scottyhead100@googlemail.com's topic in DayZ Mod Suggestions
Most obvious place nobody thinks of, I've been driving around a fairly busy map hiding my Ural and so far so good, I was in a pickle last night and left it amongst some trees at Krutoy Cap, went back on today, untouched. Krutoy Cap is the worst spawn, imo, it's too far from anywhere worth anything and when folk are playing the game it's at the back of your mind and you forget about it as most people gravitate towards the NWAF, unless someone has a chopper and a base at Skalitsky they might spot you, but you can swim over and check, worth a shot, takes a few mins to swim over, didn't lose anything, didn't find anything on my server though. Also small towns that have virtually no loot and are off the beaten path, not on a main road, you have the zeds as body guards, people don't usually bother, not worth the risk for so little loot, a few places I have in my head, the ruins at Kumryna, Khelm, Petrovka, Olsha, Pulkovo and Bor. Another idea is the main cities, finding a small area surrounded by buildings and walls, block off certain areas with barbed wire and tank traps, guide players away, they'll think it's just a troll and won't stop to undo them as they're most likely being chased by zeds, plus not many people want to hang around in the cities because of bandits. The problem is people thinking that forests are the best place to hide a tent, they're not, as the op has said they stick out like a sore thumb. Anyways with the new 'underground' places coming with SA we'll wait and see, I think I remember hearing Rocket in an interview mention that the underground areas would be instanced, maybe? Anyone know? -
Make taking a shit play like Daley Thompson's Decathlon

Brilliant! Locations, the common place for a turd would be the woods because of the cover but players could go in a pond and contaminate the water, so before another player goes to that pond to get a drink they have to check for floaters. You could do it in entrances to buildings too so it's unavoidable and maybe leave a brown parcel in your friends brand new UAZ. What about whiping your arse? Maybe a 1% chance of a 'Clean Cut' no whiping, but you'd have to loot toilet roll and if you don't have any you'd need to go in some woods and use leaves, less effective and small chance of using poison ivy. Maybe, if it's solid, be able to pick it up and throw it at other players, splat it off walls or smear it to write something, but you'll be at risk of catching something. -
You'd have to find a saddle and reins from a barn which would be pretty rare, maybe horse shoes like tires? it'd be pretty fun I guess, but it won't be invincible against zombies, it could get spooked and kick you off like in The Walking Dead.
-
You thought about that burnt down ruined place? Kumryna? I think it's called that, it has a big ruined church and various other ruined buildings, no idea how high traffic it is but the zombies can be your guard dogs, I know you've mentioned there's a lot of helis on the server so it'd be difficult to hide it for good, I always think the most obvious place would be best but for something as big as your heli that's gonna be difficult, the thing is landing it in the middle of nowhere there's gonna be no zombies, atleast in a town the zombies will keep coming so it will make it that more difficult and if you can find a place where you have enough cover from buildings then I reckon it might work, then again it's DayZ and as soon as you start on that shore you're screwed from the beginning.

Hey folks, Whilst playing DayZ and coming across all these walled areas I couldn't help thinking how cool they'd be if they were a kickass base, I know it's not the best place for a proper camp to hide your loot but maybe some kind of FOB. I don't know a lot of people to play with so turning one into a base on my own probably wouldn't turn out good. I've seen some videos on youtube of some groups turning the factory at Orlovets into a cool base with helos on the roof, a bus as the gate, etc. But there are loads of other places where you'd just need some barb wire and tank traps to fill in the gaps. This brings me onto another thing of a more permanent barricade. Bring in a new vehicle, a fork lift and a new object, 'pallet of bricks', the bricks would be too big to climb over/taken down by one person, ramming it with a vehicle would damage the vehicle and slightly damage the bricks, maybe with a Ural you could ram through but other than that or blowing them up it'd be better then what we've got, anyone with a toolbox can take down tank traps and barb wire, reckon 2/3 per server with the pallets spawning near industrial buildings maybe 25%. Image. Has anyone else ever thought of this? Cheers, CptMugwash
