I run a gtx 560m on a laptop with settings running the gamut from low to high. runs the mod very nice. runs the alpher fair to good depending on laggy servers, (and a ton of other variables). follow the user guides for optimization. don't be dissuaded.

It's pretty simple. they spawn just about everywhere.

not a bad idea actually. it could add an interesting dynamic. this sense could reveal smoke from campfires, smoke from downed choppers to guide you to their locations. the recent smell of gunfire, exhaust from vehicles, water sources. maybe even the smell of someone blowing ass because they ate too many beans. just follow your nose, it always knows. but alas it would take them a year to code it right. and probably would'nt work out as ideally as we would like.

the guns have always been whacked. you can miss somebody with the mosin standing still at five feet away. all the scope/zeroing that took place with the various guns in the mod was the biggest bag of crap i've seen in a video game.

AllDAYZSIMON states it aptly. there aren't built in mechanics to prevent hopping. Any server offered up to the public is of free use by the customers to frequent as they see fit. There are even admins advertising their servers here in this forum with a dialogue that would subvert the listed rules. Unreal.

technically I haven't 'died' yet. Fell unconscious somewhere, somehow, and while staring at a black unconscious screen for forty five minutes wondering why I paid thirty bucks I said 'fuck this shit' and hit the respawn button. that, is unacceptable for a public release whatever stage it's in. If i was calling the shots at that studio it would have been fixed in five fucking minutes.

I'm sure the Bohemia wigs set the price despite Rocket Man. I believe it's somewhat overpriced at this release to be honest. Although I would have spent fifty bucks or so on a physical box set with some included swag. It is what it is.

Over a two week period in the mod I scavenged every neccessary item to complete a full build of the 'little bird' chopper single-handedly. Imagine the time and effort. It was about 2am on the west coast, and the time was ripe for when the overseas koreans started joining in, a real danger on this particular server. The player count started rising and I was hastily engaged in the final moments of fueling. I had to take the chance of filling her up just enough for a take off and make a bee line to safer fuel depot, away from the airfield. Engine start, waypoint generated, off we go. The chopper is mine. Kept it low and fast and had the landing in sight when the low fuel warning generated within less then two hundred meters of my target. The engine quit, I did my best for a glide thinking I can still make this. I hit a tree, exploded, bailed out in a ditch effort to save my ass. I died within meters of the fuel tank, next to where my body lay. That's some fucking pain.

I dragged my body four miles to the hospital one time due to a broken leg. Weighed down the key and walked away. Ya you'll hit quite a few trees and shrubs along the way. But I wasn't gonna hold the goddamn key down for an hour. Ya, they need an auto run feature. The naysayers can be ignored as troll shit. Especially the one that fingers his boyfriend.

Good one. One of my tense encounters occurred in the mod when a fellow was creeping up a stairway in the middle of the night whilst i was looting the upstairs. Just hearing the footsteps was freaky, along with the dark atmosphere and the fact I had a single arrow in my crossbow, my only weapon. I poised in a kneeling position at the top in a strategic angle, weapon aimed and holding my breath. The moment his head cleared the top I let loose and struck him right in the neck. Phooom! He reeled back, fired a wild spasm of shots and dropped dead. I wish there was a camera recording his real life reaction because I'm sure that fucker jumped five feet out of his seat. Bahhhaaaaaaaaaa.

Spawn points aren't an issue for me, simply because I hardly ever have to respawn. Thats because I know how to survive. What the hell are the rest of you doing? Oh, getting your ass shot off every five minutes and letting yourselves be victimized by psycho squads such as this. Blame your dumb self, not the game mechanics. Bahaaaaaaaaaaa.

I thought the obvious problem with the compass is the inability to read the numbered bearings very well. Isn't this what the op is partly referring to? Why five pages of horseshit defining how to hold a compass?
