    ^^^ what are you going on about... I've been able to survive just fine inside buildings. The zombies still politely use the doors I did see one zombie walking around ontop of a building last night, but that looked like a self contained glitch. Have yet to see anything zombies 'warping' through walls. If you're backed right up against an exterior wall, yes they will smack you... but that has been there since the beginning

    Yeah, now is the time to cram as many features into this as possible. Let us the players work out what is best and what isn't, so he can trim the chaff. After that comes the bug squashing phase known as beta. A lot of developers get this backwards these days, which is why we end up released games that have loads of bugs, from features added at the last minute.

    I think this is all part of the master plan, add something to make people think twice about killing perhaps, while at the same time adding another element of the game that people will kill to obtain. Really interesting manouvering the way the development is taking place... Cannot wait to see 1-2 months from now!

Also looking for current / ex military Myself and my close buddy have been gaming together since the days of OFP, back when we had a tightly knit squad bordering on 20 active players.     Yeah don't think we are at a a big loss here (Toronto) I play on any of the US servers with ping in the 30's Having a local server wouldn't change anything in the grand scheme of things

    I like to think that we will eventually see some sort of class system. Be it at the spawn screen; Police Officer Medic Factory Worker Forestry Worker Each class would start with a varied loadout, obviously the cops would have a pistol or revolver, and ammo... maybe a small first aid kit. But factory workers might already have tools, flashlight, various other implements to repair a vehicle quickly (as opposed to having to scavenge parts) Forestry worker might have a map, compass, matches, knife.... But no gun. So we would quickly see the urgent need for teamwork right off the get-go... but being careful not to have a super soldier class that spawns with TOO much good kit.
  18. Track IR. Nuff said guys... I've had mine for about a year now. It is great for flight sims of course, and Arma (infantry combat) in general But using it with DayZ actually makes me MISS when I forget to put it on before hopping in-game. The situational awareness gained by using a Track IR head tracker is second to none. Especially since you can move your head while keeping your body still, essential if you are to survive in bandit infested territory. PS: No I don't work for the track IR guys... just offering a nice tip for anyone who has $100-150 lying around :)

    Server hopping is a reality, I could if I wanted to .... From click to running in-game maybe 1 min. I am sure others with faster connections could jump from server to server in 30 seconds. As for people valuing life, this is good. As expected it is a consequence of the good gear! But we must keep in mind, the internet is FULL of people who simply love bringing despair and suffering to others hard work... Meaning you might have worked 15 hours to get where you are, but the guy you are facing off against might have invested 25, simply so he COULD ruin your day

    Very useful peripheral device

    There is a massive difference SteamTrout... trust me on this one. I was a staunch supporter of 'Why do I need to spend $100+' It is like night and day, which in this mod is quite fitting :)
  21. Yes more items are always welcome. We just need to find the happy balance between insane inventory juggling, and just enough. I am sure most of us would like to avoid the mine-craft esque system of crafting everything... So please no suggestions for ingredients to create meals. :D

    DayZ needs objective other than survival

    Having not bothered to read the 3 pages preceeding this; I think the whole idea of the mod is to encourage free-thinking. We don't need missions and objectives, as that is what the player themself will create. Specifically when you start to get involved with more than 2-3 players in a group... Send 2 on a scouting mission for goodies, and maybe 1 to defend the loot you already secured. This is free-form on the fly mission making!

    INSANE spawning rate,ammunition type

    Agreed on the zombie spawning timer/radius Normally I don't even mind.. but when sneaking through a town to suddenly have 5 zombies pop right infront of me, and instantly go aggro... Makes me wanna rage quit! :D
