ok so i have it working through steam. the process i go through is as follows. 1. install beta patch as per normal. 2. in your steam OA folder copy the arma2oa.exe file from extensions/beta to the operation arrowhead folder. (rename old arma2oa.exe file) 3. in steam right click Arma2 OA on the left of your library and select properties. 4. click launch options and paste this in -beta=Expansion\beta;ca;Expansion\beta\Expansion -mod=ca;@dayz -nosplash 5. ok and close. 6. click play and run Combined Ops. (running just Operation arrowhead will give errors.) EDIT: Note the ca stuff this tells it to run with combined operations. this is important as you get errors and crashes without adding it. this has worked for me every time. when you download and install a new beta patch you need to copy the new arma2oa.exe to steam folder (can overwrite) -

at least 4. they reet on server restarts. we farmed them for a while till we had ammo and guns comming out our eyeballs. then lost everything to vehicles eating items and a hacker stealing our truck.

but i can't jump how unrealistic is that. i wasted $30 2.5 years ago buying this game when i can't bunny hop my way to victory.

Wow just wow. you really need to learn reading not just seeing the words on the screen but UNDERSTAND them. that wooshing sound isn't the heli overhead its the sound of you missing the point of this completely. -

yes. depending on what you did to get dayz to run there will be a config line or file that says @dayz you need to remove it or create a new batch file and run it without then you can play takistan life. its the same if you have ace mods or other game mode mods in you can't play dayz -

we have our home on anz 3. sometimes its a couple of minutes hitting enter. other times i've tried for an hour before giving up playing for the night. sure i can play on random us server 1234 hosted by XxXxXblackwaterdragonforceXxXxX. but when i can usually play on a server where the admins are competent, are contactable, restart their servers regularly and have their shit together. its a bit more enjoyable. + having aussies to shoot at make it much more fun.

does the server have flood protection. IE anymore than 5-10 players joining at once locks it so it doesn't crap out the server with requests. did the server crash and people are checking to make sure tents/vechiles are spawned in so they don't have to boot 50 people off the server and reset it again. to be accused of admin abuse?

yellow chain big lag/server not registering stuff. had team mate shoot a zombie that was moving on his screen (he had aggro) 5 minutes later the zombie dies on my screen was still the whole time. so what you seen was different to them. you see the guy standing still and you pump a mag into his skull. he is 2km away with the guy you killed loot. its just that the server hasn't got sync and hasn't registed that the guys had moved away. be confortable in that he will soon be on the forums complaining about invisible hackers when he was killed 10 minutes after he had contact with a player. he was no where near anyone and didn't hear any shots.

i had one of those moments. found a atv (after server restart i'm guessing was rolled) in kranostav. hoped on just needed some fuel. told my group. found fuel and went back to it. TS convo went like this: ME: ok i'm heading out now with atv. them: ok were are (25 seconds later). me: (trying to supress laughter)you know that atv. them: you've crashed it already? me: well not crashed just rolled, on a trash pile. them: already how far did you move it. me: less than 5 seconds. about 2-3 metres from where i found it. them: (laughter) another one. driving a uaz (shorty 4wd) with 3 others. checked map to see where to turn next. road had a bend (near rogovo) and i went straight into a tree killed two, remaining got away with <500 blood. i had to risk cherno to get extra blood bags for my penance. I'm not allowed to drive vehicles anymore. -
you keep it quiet and steal a little bit (just what you need) then when you die you go back there and steal more. if its a big group of players then they will think others have taken it or that some bug has eaten it. you can live for weeks off it until you go back and someone kills you. and since your not spending time to hord the gear you don't care if you get killed with it. if your lucky and die with it maybe they killed you and when you make your way back to camp your loot will be there to take again :P

wow. my group i play with. if they are anywhere on the map they will stop what they are doing and come and get me/anyone in the group. if we are low on blood or are trapped we will go and assist (even if it is a very bad situation or we are ill equipped. IE heading into a town with m107 or as50's to rescue the guy with he slienced m4 or bizon.) -

yes you can kick for ping. 103 might be a bit low but its stops all but US players. euro's would have about 150 aussies 200+ -
you find weapon in lootable building. also hatchet and crowbar works against infected. they are also found in lootable building. big towns are dangerous without anymeans to defend yourself steer clear of them until you found something to handle the infected.
