    Rocket has mentioned that 'persistent storage containers' will soon be tested in Dayz.  Most seem to be assuming they will be similar to tents from the mod.

     

    Personally i have mixed feelings about this.  And i'm curious how others think.  I think it is important to stress we don't know what form these will take yet.  What size they are, if they will be hive or server based, will they be wiped when you die, etc etc.

     

    What i don't want them to be like tents in the mod.  Where you could stash loads of loot so whenever you die you simply run back to your tents and are instantly fully kitted gain. I know many will see this as the whole point of them, but if this is the case i'd prefer they were not included.  It has two big problems:  It removes the requirement to gear up again, which is key to Dayz.

    It also means players horde gear as they can really never have too much of the prime gear.  As it stands now there is no point picking up a 2nd scope or similar unless it is for a friend.  With tents, people pick up everything and stash it in their camps.  This hoarding does not enhance the game for others imo, but does the opposite.

     

    On the positive side, they give a nice addition as something to do.  However i feel this is only appealing now as the game is lacking content, so anything to increase content and things to do will be seen positively.

     

    Personally I think they should be in game but be heavily restricted,  maybe only allow 'yellow storage boxes' as these are too small to allow the storing of weapons. They should be persistent via server based persistence.

     

    What do you think and do you think they should be restricted and if so how

    Most terrible Idea imagineable. Not being able to make a home base is bad. If you want to restrict them restrict the size or amount a single player can drop.

    This has happened twice to me so far both times I had spent 12+ hours getting gear and killing people etc. Just sitting there looking around or whatever and screen goes black and says you are dead. I know I wasnt sniped because both times I was in a building looting and no windows with places people could have shot me from. How do I stop this from happening because this alone is making the game unplayable. Not fun to spend all that time looting or whatever to just die for no reason at all.

    this is dumb, soon as you post good things about a server and it gets highly rated it will get flooded with hackers oogling at noobs who suck at the game because they dont know where everyperson and their mother is at on the map at all times, cant teleport and use god mode. omg what noobs cant even shoot me while im speed running type of deal. Yea no. I prefer to keep my server off the mainstream just so it doesnt get painted with a big a** bullseye. Good intentions, Bad Idea.

    Ok, i love this big fat bird. Only problem is I cant seem to get the save option or repair hull option to show up? anyone know how this is done? Also everytime I reset the server all of the heli's and vehicles break again. Its a huge pain in the arse. How do I keep the vehicles from breaking on restart??

    dont listen to the egg heads, i had the same crap happen to me, the fix is a pain. your going to need new cd keys if its banned. mine wasnt banned. but your going to have to change your cd keys in the registry which can be a pain in the ass if you dont know what your doing. unfortunately if your banned the only thing you can do is get a fresh set of keys. Seeing as how steam wont let you change your cd keys, you can do it in the registry, or get another steam account. Google how to change your cd keys. Plenty of stuff there.

    thats not death, its a glitched knockout timer usually cause by logging our or dying when your in shock. If you wait 10 min it should dwindle down. If its not your going to have to find someone to epi pen you. have them shoot you in the foot and wait for your shock to go away naturally and see if it goes away.only thing I can think of.

    So I am a server admin for my clans server. We like to change maps so we don't get bored. Problem being every time we switch to Takistan everyone that has died, or just plain logged in gets spawned right on the airstrip in the same exact spot. I've tried resets, tried looking for a script that some hacker was using and even just locking the server and only me logging in and it still does it. I'm pretty sure its not a hacker otherwise it would stop if said hacker wasn't online. How do i fix this broken spawn.

    SO, last night I was pretty retarded and downloaded this thing that I thought was a settings tweak to make my graphics run smoother for dayz. I open it and a command window opens and closes and nothing happens... So I was like ehh screw it went to open dayz and I get "Bad Login Given." I tried regedit to fix my cd key and nothing. Then I uninstalled and reinstalled and now it says corrupt game file. What can I do?
