Running through Elektro with a buddy getting chased by five zombies we decide to split up. The building i run into usually has weapons (i'm unarmed) and luckily enough i find an AKM with 2 clips. I run to the second story and position myself ready to gun down these five or six zombies. As soon as i kill the first batch, i look out the window to see about seven zombies running towards my building. Shit. So I'm shooting all of these zombies and one manages to break my leg. My friend (allan) finally makes it to my building with just a Makarov but gets knocked unconscious and eaten alive because i couldn't make my way down the staircase fast enough. I kill the last few zombies and make my way to the ground floor to find his dead body and one zombie left. I make the STUPID decision of shooting the zombie with my AKM and alerting ANOTHER horde along with it. I'm almost out of ammo, have 3k blood left, a broken leg, and hardly ANY supplies but i don't give up. Allan makes his way back to the building to pick up a crowbar he had and give me some ammo for my guns, but he also brings with him another small horde. He tries to open my bag to put some ammo in it but what does he do? He hits me and i die. FUUUUUU- Anyway, heres a video of the last couple minutes of the ordeal: http://youtu.be/ZYg5Z7bSLWo

Yeah that's what I love about most of the podcasts I listen to. Just hoping to bring some enjoyment to the community

Counter-Clan Strike Force: Is there a pesky clan you want killed off on your server? Come talk to us!

Awesome that people are actually interested in helping each other. So rare to see that in-server. Cheers! -

FUCK YEAH -
So I plan on starting a Day Z / horror game podcast with a couple of friends of mine in a few weeks. Here's what we would talk about: - General Day Z discussion: Updates, our experiences, suggestions, an email segment where we answer questions/ read stories from the players themselves (assuming we get any emails). - Horror movies, shows, games, or stories we find interesting enough to share. - Random irrelevant topics as they arise So we need some help coming up with a name that would somewhat suit this podcast. Anything zombie/ dayz related and catchy would be ideal. I look forward to reading the suggestions! Thanks!

So i liked "Zombie Donuts" and went with it. After some discussion we went with the totally original and not ripped off "Donut Zombies"! We'll be recording our first episode within the next 2 weeks. Will make a post about it the day of the recording. Cheers to everyone and especially Pendragon for the help!

Cheating Epidemic has forced me to close my server
CF Donuts replied to sil3nus's topic in Mod Servers & Private Hives
Dunno about your last comment there, but if the hacking is causing people to close their servers then i can't wait for the standalone to be released already. -
I'm pretty sure if a sniper managed to shoot you, then next "torch holder" would be shot soon after

Some interesting responses so far. "Bandit Campfire" (inspired from the sub-forum) sounds pretty good as well. Still haven't decided though

You just got shot from across the street in cherno and now your leg is broken. You somehow manage to crawl into the nearest building as your attackers footsteps get louder and louder. You're just a few minutes from bleeding out with no hope left. You're dead, you have absolutely no means to defend yourself with and there's no way out. The only thing you can do now is say something to them knowing as soon as they see you they WILL shoot. WHAT ARE YOUR LAST WORDS?

Aaaand the winner is...

Taking hostages/prisoners is by far the one thing i want to do most in this game. The idea of capturing someone and taking them with you on your journey (at least for a short while) could create some of the best DayZ stories to date. Random Scenarios: - You manage to capture someone wandering in the woods, he then tells you that his friends are willing to make a trade for his life (lets say he's pretty geared out and doesn't wanna lose his stuff). You could take him to the trade spot where there will be an EXTREMELY tense situation. Once the first shot is fired all hell will break loose, or the trade could go fine. - Maybe you get captured yourself, all you want to do is continue to stall before your enemy decide to kill you. The rope (or whatever they used to tie you up) eventually gives in and you make a break for it, manage to find a gun, and the entire situation ends with a firefight. We all know the best thing about DayZ is the stories you hear from other players. Give the player another tool to create his own story and the stories WILL come. Here are some suggestions: DISCLAIMER: Obviously not all of these ideas are well thought out and i bet they're in other threads. This thread is simply to be used for suggestions on this specific scenario. Tranquilizer:Used to knock a player unconscious Doesn't have to knock a player out instantly, just let them know that they have a timer before they pass out maybe. Or simply give them a visual cue like blurred vision or slower/awkward run speed. Give them time to react to the situation rather then just "Hey what's tha-oh well fuck i'm unconscious now and anybody can do whatever they want with me". Zip Tie: Used to tie players up (rare) The player can't equip anything at all or do anything involving the hands (obviously). BUT if the hostage has a survival knife in their bag and the enemy didn't bother to check, the hostage can cut himself free at any moment. There (theoretically) would be no time limit on how long a player would stay zip tied. Another way to be released is if another player helps you out. Rope: Same as zip tie (more uses other than hostage stuff) (uncommon) Same properties as the zip tie but the rope wears out over time. The enemy will have to constantly tighten the rope to make sure the hostage stays bound. Duck Tape: Silence a player (more uses other than hostage stuff) (uncommon) Probably the most flawed idea, but interesting nonetheless. Using duck tape to cover the mouth of the hostage will render him unable to speak in in-game chat. Didn't give this one TOO much thought. Maybe could also be used as rope/zip tie alternative but probably the weakest of the three. Ear plugs: Stop a player from hearing anything in-game including voices. (uncommon Maybe if the group your with is only using in-game chat and you're coming up with a plan, plug the hostages ears so he/she doesn't hear it. 2-Way Radios: To communicate with another group about your hostage (very rare) A way to negotiate, tell them where you left the radio and when they find it you give them your instructions. Obviously it's uses are much more than this but in terms of a hostage situation this would be pretty interesting. Some Sort of Listening Device: In case you want to find out what another group is doing (very rare) Let's say you don't want to settle for one simply hostage. Plant a bug on him (which a hostage cannot detect) and send him back to his group. You can only hear all of the voice chatter nearby the hostage on a special radio (or something). Find out what his buddies are up to and go find them all! This would probably have to be a timed device as well, can't really last forever. The range won't be TOO far either, so you need to keep within a certain distance stalking the hostage. Remote Bomb: For you sick fucks (extremely rare) Plant it on the hostage, send him on his way and just when he thinks he's safe....BOOOOOM Duffle Bags: Trading large quantities of items to the enemy. NOT the same as a backpack, carried in the main hands Your buddies life that important to you? Put all of your stuff in the bag and hope that whoever you're trading with wont shoot you on sight and your buddy quickly after. So there are the first batch of ideas that i have, i'd love some feedback and more suggestions! I'll be glad to edit this post and put some of the communities suggestions (with credit of course). Looking forward to seeing the response.

General Hostage/Prisoner Situation Thread
CF Donuts replied to CF Donuts's topic in DayZ Mod Suggestions
Another situation I came up with. You find a random survivor, tranq him, take ALL of his gear and fire a couple of lee enfield rounds to ensure the unlucky survivors panful demise. For you sick bastards ou there such as myself haha -
Hand-slot and some stuff to go with it.
CF Donuts replied to habinero's topic in DayZ Mod Suggestions
The duffle bag is a sweet idea, if you don't mind i think i'll add this to my prisoner/hostage thread. This could easily be used for trading a large quantity of items to an enemy who has captured one of your squad mates or something in return for your buddy back. -
General Hostage/Prisoner Situation Thread
CF Donuts replied to CF Donuts's topic in DayZ Mod Suggestions
Great point, (assuming alt-f4 is out of the equation) capturing a "high value" player would increase the chances they play along. The point of taking a hostage (at least the way i see it) is simply to create a story whether you want to mess with them or not, not necessarily leave a dude butt naked in the middle of cherno....which also sounds like a fun idea. Yeah the one definite downside this entire thread. Hopefully in the future the penalties for server hopping or simply logging off will be great enough (ie: Can't join another server in 10-20 minutes) so that players won't see that as the best plan. -
Apparently DayZ characters age at an incredible rate so 32 days is equivalent to a 90 year life. Therefore, your bones sucked and you fell and couldn't get up.
