Title says it all, I have a L85, 2 camo clothings and a pair of NVG's. Make your pick. EU please, also wanna do it over Skype unless you are a trusted trader. (Know that I'm currently quite north and don't wanna spend all day walking to the beach)

Honestly, when I play I never get the time to trust or not trust anyone. I walked into the NW airfield (stupid me) saw a few zombies running in a direction, I followed them (stupid me) went into the wood at one of the barracks (stupid me). Saw a Bandit, said "friendly" (stupid me) He shot me on sight (stupid me). He never said anything therefor there were no trust. I'm not whining, it's just. If you wanna survive for as LONG as possible, get water, food and morphine. Move north and stay there. There is no reason to go for weapons if you hope to survive for more than a few days.

Just looted a nicely geared sniper, trading it all away. What I want is an SVD camo with ALOT of ammo.

Aah, it's a good day in DayZ-land. I just got my SVD camo and a pair of fancy looking ghillie suits. I am ready for action! The day I decide to log in again was the day I'll regret forever. I went on my regular server, having a grand old time watching Cr1tical on my other screen. When I heard shots, I quickly opened my Arma2 folder and found that I've been killed. What the hell! The weapon I heard was a LMG, from the sound of it a SAW. However, he must have stood right next to me, which didn't make any sense at all. I was logged out in the middle of a forest at least 3 kilometers NE of the NW airfield. So, I'm wondering if this may have been a hacker. I'm on DayZ strike, the game just handed me a gaint pile of DOO. I didn't have any of it though. I'm considering saying to myself "Filip! No more DayZ" Then again, DayZ is DayZ for a reason. I'll be back hunting choppers in no time :) For now, back to school!

True, but I hope our actions in the Alpha will be reflected into the standalone game. (If we are heroes now we are heroes in the standalone)

The thing is, I've got a fancy looking Hero skin on the main hive and I just don't wanna play without it :( Also, getting a new one would take a butt-long time.

The playstyle I go with consists of looting the nearest town (at your spawn) then running north to Stary where you can get a decent backpack, food, water, matches and hunting knife. Also at Stary I'd recommend getting a good military grade weapon. If you don't know DayZ I'd recommend using a map ( I use http://dayzdb.com/map) With this map you wanna follow as many roads as possible (because the forests are INSANELY hard to go through) this is of course if you DON'T get a in-game map. If you get an in-game map just SHIFT+Left click and you've got a marker that shows you exactly where to go. After getting things sorted in Stary, move north, checking for crashed helis and the barracks. After getting HIGH value weapons the game is kinda over for you xD

This is an idea I've been picking my brain about for the last week or so. So, after doing just about everything there is to do in DayZ (except piloting one of those damned choppers) I started getting the feeling that the game is "dying" for me personally. I just didn't find the fun in storing more, more, more and more gear in my tents, never too use them. So, I've been helped by a few people and helped a few others as well and I've gotta say, I'm loving the feeling. So, what I wanna do now (as you may see in the title) is to coach a "bambi" or a person whom is new to the game. I'm not sure if this is a dumb idea but I feel that if I can help people in a game like DayZ I would be rewarded greatly. I'm looking for someone whom is interested in DayZ but perhaps hasn't gotten the hang of it yet. However, you must have a bit of dedication. What we'll be doing is : - Learning where to go when just spawning. - Learning the importance of backpacks and other useful utilities - Learning which weapons to choose for "your" playstyle - Learning where to find those weapons (heli crash sites and military loot) - Learning how to find and repair damaged vehicles. - Learning how to use and understand maps. - Learning how to interact with unknown players. - Learning how to survive. The person I'm looking for mature players (ages doesn't matter as long as you are mature) I'm not sure how I'm going to accomplish this "coaching" but I have a few ideas. If any other players have some constructive feedback I'd love to hear it. A few "must's" though. - You MUST have a working microphone with a decent mic (Don't wanna get stuck between a rock and a hard place while I can't hear what you are saying) - Unfortunally, because I'm Swedish you must be playing in the EU (otherwise one of us would have massive lag) - You MUST enjoy DayZ even during the "rainy days" If you want to be "coached" I'd love for you to post on this topic or just throw me a PM. After seeing this topic expand, I'm getting frequent "help" messages. I'm starting to think I'm over my head here. I can only help 1 person at a time, but I don't know how to spend it. I'm just a normal guy whom spend ALOT of my time playing DayZ, during the week I won't be able to help as much though. So everyone who feels I'm "ignoring them". Trust me, I'm not. I'm just getting too much trafic and I will deal with it in due time.

I do agree with Joe Shaw, but I must say that DayZ is in fact a game and should be enjoyed as one. The player I took in today had a bit of fun for once, makes everything worth it :)

Just got in contanct with a player, he's pretty new to the game and knows only the basics. We've just looted Balota and this lucky son of a bitch found a M14 aim as well as a M9 SD, crist. We went into Cherno and found him a ALICE pack so we are now ready to head north.
