M1911, Double barrel shotgun, and then a crossbow in that order. I actually kept the crossbow for like three days and did better with it than anything else till i ran out of bolts for it.

There is always hacking in any pc game. I have only been playing for about 2 weeks and I have yet to see a hacker. Knock on wood and cross my fingers. I dont think I will ever get bored of DayZ. The only thing I am really hoping for in the standalone is the abillity to clear out an area and establish a better base. Seems like now the tents are very unreliable as well as the cars.

Really good post apache25. The only problem with doing that is a lot of others are startig to do the same. Granted its still not as bad as cherno/electro but there are certain things that could take you much longer to gather by going from shack to shack, or stand to stand. Matches, hunting knife, hatchet, map, and compass. Not that you cant find those things scattered throughout the map, but it may be the death of you. Even after you have good gear (Rifle, pack, and ammo), by not having some of the basics that are found in cherno/electro. Once you have the basics then you dont need the big cities at all. But if your going to survive in the wild you have to have the basics so that you can. Oh yea and don't forget your morphine, epipen, and bandages. If you break a leg (falling out of a deer stand for instance) you will need the meds to get back on your feet, and if your running as a lone wolf good luck getting patched up. Good luck!

You should try playing Arma 2 now that you have it anyway. Its a lot of fun and can really help you play DayZ a lot better. You willl be much more familliar with the controls, and how the weapons and gear work in game. Plus I think it makes DayZ just that much better when you have experianced Arma 2

Just started playing this past weekend. Havent decided if I want to try and play with others or Lone Wolf it for the time being. I only play for an hour or two at a time. See ya in game

I think this is why I started playing DayZ. If you want to be a Dic$ you can. If you want to help others and work together you can. If you want to be a Lone Wolf you can. Its nice to actually have a game that allows players to play as they want not in some predetermined objective. It kind of allows everyones real personality to come out and be shown. Bottom line in this game is be very careful who you trust. Don't turn your back on anybody, and always keep one eye open when you sleep.
