I've tried locating alternative roleplaying servers besides DayzRP and I can't find anything. Aren't there more whitelisted roleplaying servers? I don't care if they have AI or a custom mod. As long it haves basic rules like NO-KOS, NLR and etc.

So, I'm looking on having a go at hosting my own Dayz server and I wanted to know some trust worthy servers with decent quality that aren't too pricey. Best I've seen so far is SurvivalServers but perhaps there are better? Give me some recomendations! :)

Pretty much what the title says. Does anyone know of a server where it is forbidden to rob and steal things from you're camp/tents? I was only able to find one server with this rule, I was wondering if there are more like these.

I checked the ping and it was good. But everything is in german. D : Is there a way to change language? Do people speak in english in game?

Any good dayz origins server that you would recommend then? You seem to be playing on one and might know of one

I saw some videos about this server. I ain't sure yet. People seems to be killing each other all the time. It's silly really. In a real Zombie Apocalypse if ever happens, you wouldn't kill people randomly unless your a psychopath or simply like helping zombies.. Again, Dayz failing on realism.

How does Origins work? I went to their website but I couldn't find anything about their Servers like features or rules. Could you perhaps link me to their rules/feature page please?

Perhaps. To me Dayz is kinda flawed from the start. I'm just trying to "fix" it. I just can't understand why playing for dozens of hours and then shit hits the fan and I lost everything and have to restart is fun...Just thinking about it makes me not want to leave the coast and remain in cherno forever.

Dayz lacks other realism aspects. Why aren't there like a 1000 vehicles? Is it a zombie apocalypse or a nuclear one? Most vehicles should be in good condition to use. And even if there were 1000 vehicles, and only 30 players, a new player would never find a vehicle, because groups/clans like doing vehicle collections.... And how is getting shot from nowhere or robbed good? Just creates a very deep frustration inside of me that's enough to make me stop playing for months and return later only for the same shit to happen again. Players are far more interested on killing one another then zombies. Some server look like Counter Strike really, only difference is that it's zombie edition.

Not for me. I hosted a server for myself and my friends and we had a blast. For once, we could actually make bases, keep vehicles and gear.

Hey guys, me and a friend are looking for a private hive server which have a roleplaying atmosphere and that it doesn't allow KOS(Kill On Sight), nobody can steal from camps or bases and is atelast password protected. We saw one with these rules but didn't had password, so we didn't like the idea. So we were wondering if there is something like that that you guys might know of.

Well yeah, I played there. I got tired of getting robbed everytime I played. Looking for a server that doesnt allow that. :P

Well it could be that. There could be pvp aslong it's restricted. But if there ain't one like that. Then sure, PVE would be nice aswell. :)

Hello everyone. We found this mod a while ago by watching some videos on youtube and it looks to be pretty awesome! Me and a friend of mine just bought the game on steam and we're still downloading it but we have some questions. :) 1-Is everyone in one big server or are there multiple servers? If so, can you people say which ones are best? I assume a full server is the most fun as I've seen the map is huuuuge! 2-Do you choose teams? Like Bandits and survivors? 3-Is the game to dificult to learn? From the videos looked a bit confusing on how you place tents and make fires and stuff.

Hello all. I've been having some problems trying to run Dayz and for some reason I keep getting errors. First was that OA didn't worked at all, so I redownloaded Arma 2 and OA all over again and this time works. Then I install PlaywithSIX and click on some server, it downloads and installs DayZ and then when I try to enter sometimes Steam says that the game is not available, but when I do enter I get a message saying :"Bad Version. Server rejected connection.". And it says on all servers. Is there a fix or maybe it was something I did wrong perhaps? And please don't tell me I gotta re-install everything again. Takes so many hours to download all those gigs! T.T

Nevermind people. I fixed it. Sorry for the topic. ^^

Hmmm...So on the private hives it will still save my things right? Vehicles/tents/gear but just on that private hive. On the public hive it will save aswell but on a new "account" right? We are ready for it. To be honest this feature was one of those that truelly interested us. :)

Don't worry, we won't hack. Hell we hate hackers. :) Thanks all for the wonderfull info but this new info also raised some new questions. :) 4-About saving our stuff, how does this system work? Private servers and hive servers. Can you save all your stuff in any server or only the hive ones? 5-For example, we got our gear, guns and vehicles, if we leave everything on some area there, when we return, we will still have our stuff there and spawn right where we left our characters? 6-And you can store things in tents/cars/backpacks right? And they will stay there until you reconnect?
