    American Weapons and Russian Weapons

    I agree with you on making the American and especially British weapons more scarce; Russian weapons can be found all over the world, while American and British weapons are quite unusual to find, especially in Russia. I think we need to come to realise that we're in Russia, and Russia is a Soviet, Communist state; Meaning every man and his dog has a weapon. I'm not saying we should just throw guns all over the place, i just think that there should be more scattered drops around the area, and not just in cities and other populated area's.
  2. Well, I've been thinking about how we could improve the game and make way some suggestions for the standalone. They may not be a great but eh, give me your thoughts's. Banners: So we all like playing with our mates. We tell eachother to jump on and we go and kill some bandits and find some things we need. I think there should be a way to solidify the unity of your group, and be able to be a recognised group in the game. To achieve this, i think there should be banners for groups of people, or "clans". And players can set up a group and create a banner in the game, to signal to players who they are and what they do. I think we don't want to abuse it, so there should be a certain number cap of players allowed in a clan. But some perks of being in a clan would be like a clan storage unit, of food, drink, weapons and other things that are shared out. This banner should be displayed at a clan camp site, and have a patch on the vest of a player. More Creative Weapons: I think some new weapons should be added to the game, giving it a new feeling. I personally would'nt mind seeing a flame thrower in there, and maybe some more surprising ones like a chainsaw or nail gun. Alot like the interface on Dead Rising, Where basically anything you pick up can be used as a weapon. Different Ammunition: So for the weapons on DayZ there is default ammunition rounds for all weapons. I'd like to see some different ones, such as incindenary rounds, explosive rounds, full metal jacket rounds for better penetration to vehicles. More Realistic Combat Experience: The best part about DayZ is the realism of it, it's very detailed and life-like, unlike a lot of other games. We could touch up on this though, I think there needs to be more variation in the use of weapon's. I think this could be improved if there were random weapon jams, when you're in desperate need to fire upon an enemy or zombie, your weapon jammed up and you needed to meneuver your weapon to fix it. I'd also like to see more realistic weapon penetration. Weapons can easily penetrate plaster boards and other walls, and it would be great if you could do this in game too, as part of the deteriation of a building. It would also be great if weapon impact was improved on too; there is no way a man could just stay up if he got hit in the chest with a round of an m16 or AK47, if he had a bullet proof vest on he would be a least breathless, so it would be good when you make impact on another player, they would stumble, and have to wait a short amount of time to be able to aim and shoot properly again. Factions: I haven't thought too clearly on this one, but maybe there should be a class prefix? Like classes in games, such as farmers and residents and military and so forth. There should be no over powering on these classes though, so in no way should one class dominated by another, such as a military personell over a farmer; each class should get their own perks and flaws. Factions should also have appropriate skill's to their name, so they're needed by other players; such as military personell having combat training, and residents having survival training and so on. Bases: So i think in retrospect to the banner idea, player's and clans should be able to maintain a building as their own. Using locks and building surrounding structures such as scout towers and birds next turrets. Bases should also be above ground, but also underground. Tunnels could be used as bases, simalar to those used by the vietkong. Underground tunnel complexes would be a great way to escape an enemy chasing you, and be able to maintain a greater level of security. Traps: Another Idea i have thought of is more dynamic traps. This could be a skill incorperated into the game, but it would be great; Setting up traps such as spike pits and Land mines and being able to create your own. The idea's some people would come together with would be amazing, and it would take lot's of creativity. Thats it for now, but just tell me what you guys think. No hate plz
  3. I liked the traps idea the most too. It would an even greater danger to the wilderness, and it would be great to see some of the traps the people come up with.

    Standalone Suggestion (maybe even Aplha)

    It's a good idea. Maybe they could even expand on that, and you could tell how the player actually died by checking the corpse, like if a player was killed by a zombie it could have missing limbs and look deformed, or if a player was killed by another player, it could have bullet wounds and such.

    Starting character classes?

    Artillery is a stupid idea. All buildings would be destoryed and there would be no available loot or cover for players. An artilery class would ruin the dynamic of the game. The idea of the game is to survive, and only using the basic necesities to do so, so having an artillery class would in no way contribute to the basic survival of any player. Rant over.

    Seperate slot for melee weapon

    I've thought about this a lot too. And i honestly think it's a great idea. Another idea would be possibly attatching a knife to your weapon, almost as if a bayonet; then there won't be any need for weapon switching :)
