  5. I am not the owner of this server nor apart of this community, I am just a player. I just started playing on it last night and I'd have to say this is probably the most exciting DayZ Private Hive I have played. The server configuration makes it to where it was 1.4/1.5 . AS50 and L85 are gone and the overall playstyle is like 1.4/1.5 alot of teamwork in this server and Many clans (just going off tags). Def a refresh after I stopped playing this for 2 months. Im back and playing on this server for sure! I am just posting his server stuff from Reddit to here. SWC-DayZ Server - Private Hive Server: DayZ Bliss SWC-DayZ (v1.7.2.6/build 97771) [Veteran|3DP:ON|CH:ON][GMT-11] - http://www.SWCombine.com Website: http://www.silverfalls.org/dayz/ We are a group of players from another game that have all become addicted to DayZ. Up until recently we were hosting US 2881, a public hive server. Due to all the hackers and inability for us to do much of anything about them, we have decided to go private hive. We would like to build a community of players around our server that want to have fun and play DayZ. You won't be banned for killing admins or stealing our vehicles though we may hunt you down like the bandit you are.! Features: Running a Bliss 50-slot private hive server on a VPS - meaning there aren't other DayZ servers on the same machine. Running 24/7 Veteran Difficulty 3rd: On - Tracers: Off - NP: Off - CH: On - DM: On Currently 130 vehicles including 2 helicopters (this may change) Custom Heli Loot (removed L85 and AS50, put in new weapons) Always Full Moon at night Custom buildings for groups / clans Vehicles / Tents properly saving Side Chat enabled (though we don't want people using it for voice chat) Updates / restarts happen pretty fast and you get prior notice Server in US Database backups every 30 minutes Whitelist, application process and password used to minimize hackers Our own private Mumble voice chat server Rules: Things not allowed No hacking No duping intentionally No ghosting - pretty much this shouldn't be possible on our private hive, but just in case someone finds a way to do it.. don't. No hoarding of vehicles - if you're two people, you don't need 5 vehicles. If your group has 1 helicopter, leave the others alone. This does not mean you can't steal vehicles from others, it just means don't create a parking lot of unused vehicles. No Alt + F4'ing to escape other players. Don't care if you do this to get away from zombies. Refrain from killing fresh spawns. You won't get banned if you happen to kill one, mostly what we mean here is don't camp the beaches looking for new spawns to kill. (Robbing, taking em hostage is fine). No using barbed wire or tank traps to block off popular spawn sites (fire stations, churches, etc). Exceptions to this are if you are inside the building at the time or if you are using the location as your home base. No begging admins for weapons or vehicles. If we want you to have it, we will add it as a spawn to the map where everyone can compete for it. No VOIP in side chat. We don't wanna hear your music, heavy breathing, TV, etc. No trolling or harassment over side chat. No excessive use of bad language, racist comments, basically use your common sense. We're not gonna kick your for expressing your displeasure in the fact that we just killed you, but just don't go overboard. Things we DO allow Kill on sight (KOS) is allowed though we encourage you to interact more with other players as we are trying to build a community here. Bandits are welcome, though we'd much prefer you truly play a bandit - hostage taking, robbing, etc are encouraged over just shooting on sight, though you won't get punished for KOS. Base building at major locations. If you can protect it, it's within your rights to own any spot on the map. Be prepared to really have to fight hard for the more popular spots. Role-playing is encouraged though not required. Anyone purposefully trolling or abusing someone attempting to roleplay will be dealt with harshly. Forming your own groups / clans. We'd love to have other active players on the server, whether bandit or survivor. If somehow you lose your gear / vehicles due to a hacker, the admins will work on replacing what we can. If you lose it due to zombies, bugs or glitch, we will not replace it. Sorry for this but it's impossible for us to prove you really lost the stuff this way. Interested in joining? Just visit our website and fill out the application. We'll get you processed as soon as we can, but note we like to play the game too so it may take a few hours. If you haven't got a response in 24 hours let us know. Once you are accepted you'll get a PM on our forums with the password. You'll then need to join so we can add you to the whitelist.

  10. Server is Perfect. Very well script protected. Anyone who complains must show proof of hacking. Calling out that a server is bad because you got killed, doesn't mean someone is hacking or a server is bad. Server gets mighty full at night and no1 has had any issues that have been reported. Please do not bash a server because something happened to you legitimately. We take pride in how safe and secure our server is and in bringing players the best experience possible by enforcing DayZ Server Rules. Thanks, Hicks

    Pending Update: Build 1.7.2.6

    Wouldn't it be best to try either now or 1.7.3? I mean the reason many players were duping was because gear wasn't saving, people lost gear in unsaved vehicles, etc. Plus how long has the HIVE been up? Like 1.6 or earlier? I say its time for a HIVE wipe, deal with issues it brings etc now then to wait down the road and have it become harder to pinpoint issue(s). @Fraggle Yea my buddy H4tze put up a poll but it got taken down for some reason. But the consensus was to do a HIVE wipe before it got too big to handle

  14. Standalone wont have the massive limitations that the mod has at this moment as it is based on a 4 year old engine that LOVES scripts. Also hacking will be greatly smashed greatly as the standalone wont be able to be scripted (as that how everyone is hacking .ARMA2 is just a massive script so injecting scripts is as easy as putting on your shoe. Standalone wont allow scripting so SKs will have to buy their hacks, which most dont.). Duping is just a aram2 engine limitation that the standalone will be able ot fix easily. Server hoping and slight hacking will all you will have to worry about = normal
  15. This is a discussion for the Standalone not the mod. Most if not ALL issue of the mod will be addressed and taken care of in the stand alone as he doesn't have to do all the massive modding to the arma2 engine, he gets the arma3 engine and a full team to work on standalone. So you sir didn't read thread :D
  16. ooh i like this one. Can a user be able to hold all these maps at once or would they have to drop a previous map to get new map? If all can be held, make user have to swap back and forth through maps to figure out were exactly they need to go. Ex. User has just a normal map that shows more roads, forest etc, but only so much. you then find a military map that shows the map without roads ,etc and just shows landmarks (like a airport) that you have to then switch to your other map (normal) to figure out where it is at. If you didnt have the normal map you wouldn't know cities are near the camp so if you came into a city without a normal map you couldn't verify you were close nor what direction you were heading and would cause you to explore ALOT OR as you collect more maps it will populate your original map to see more of the map / landmarks?
  17. Just for discussion sakes, since i do agree with you, even though its in my list...it was just idea. Can you elaborate on why no Class System, NPCs etc. (I know the answer already, I just want to hear from others :P)
  18. Here is what I posted on reddit, but no1 wants to make a discussion on reddit so they downvote everything. Maybe in here we can get some real ideas and discussions. Weapon deterioration over time (this will encourage people to explore more and take shots less at people. This also might cause hoarding more, if tents are put in standalone. Might also allow people to cycle through more weapons) More animals (some that you can companion and train and some that are hostile towards the players) MORE INFECTED/ZOMBIES! (I want to see hoards and a massive group of walkers in towns and in the woods. I mean this is a post-apocolyptic time and zombies would be everywhere. I think it will help force the survival aspect. Right now zombies are so little and hardly even pay attention to them. I think looking out for 1) survivors 2) Bandits 3) zombies would make things interesting) Smarter Zombies (They have got to be smarter zombies, make it more challenging to the player. This will make players have to be strategic and really think, "is that can of beans worth getting yet") Vehicle Upgrading (Adding armor to a car, mounted gun, more seating room less loot space, etc) <--many mixed feelings BIGGER MAP (Rocket already talked about doing this and it needs to be done. Chernarus is just too small haha) Make more common weapons MORE COMMON (shotguns, bats/melee, knives, crossbows, bows, 9mm - 40mm pistols, .22 rifles) Make higher grade gear (military) VERY VERY UNCOMMON (im talking like 1-3%) (high power sniper rifles, NVGs, RangeFinders, Binoculars, Camo, Assault Rifles, backpacks, etc) WIP Safe Zone (This could be were people are able to trade items, sell items, team up without being killed) <--NvM too carebear Now I know this isnt an RPG like the game myself and my friends were creating for 8 months before DayZ came out (then we were like FUCK SOMEONE BEAT US TO IT ><) but what about a class system with small perks of a class? Class Examples: Scouter Speed = % faster then average running Health = % less then average Sight = Average Extra = NA [*]Sniper Health = Average Sight = sees % farther then average players Speed = Average Extra = Accuracy % Higher then average [*]Scavenger Health = % more then average Speed = Average Sight = Average Extra = Has < > more slots then average Just some thoughts :D my ONLY thinking about the class system, is when you select a survior gender in the begining of a new character (not sure if will be the same in the standalone) you can select a role type, which would be more useful for a group then individually.

  20. Agreed. As there are weapon slings for primary gun and holder/pocket for handgun (if you have one). What about maybe having hatchet go into a secondary slot instead of primary? Some time Id like to have my hatchet where my pistol was because i can't find / dont have anymore ammo for my pistol but i have alot of extra primary ammo (aka shotguns)
  21. Well my ONLY thinking about the class system, is when you select a survior gender in the begining of a new character (not sure if will be the same in the standalone) you can select a role type, which would be more useful for a group then individually.
