I agree with everything but server hoping. I don't mind going from server to server, but its people who go server to server kill 1 player go to next server that bugs many. I think Rocket has discussed this somewhere but a penalty should be put in place for server hoping to quickly. Since this will be something on the standalone loading into a server shouldnt be the issue (not connecting correctly, etc etc). But for those getting a kill then leaving needs to be addressed. Not sure what type of penalty maybe being passed out, lose ammo, lose gear, lose a weapon, spawn at coastal or first time spawn area, something that will make it say "Don't do it again"

Stop complaining about losing gear. Its part of being in ALPHA! Do I need to have you read SDLC for ALPHA stage in development? You must not TEST many games to know the #1 Rule of testing. NEVER GET ATTACHED TO ANYTHING WHEN IN ALPHA OR BETA STAGE! You should expect to be starting over every single day because MANY of us did for 4.5months until around 1.7.x patches. SO STFU and get used to it. Also its a MOD of ARMA2. ARMA2 engine has LIMITATIONS that DayZ Mod might not be able to fix. If that is the case NOTHING CAN BE DONE ABOUT IT. This is probably a main reason why standalone got the greenlight so early because they came to that realization, not because of how popular it came. Please people use some common sense sheesh and stop bitchin so much. -
I completely understand OPs issues, but its Alpha and core components are still being developed so gameplay will be changing over the years, hell even the stand alone is starting in an Alpha for so ya. Here is my 2cents experience on what I have seen this game come from to what it is now. *WARNING LONG POST* When this mod first came out it was an experience myself and my group had never experienced before. We have played ARMA2 for awhile now so, we knew this map pretty well, but we still felt lost and unsure on what to do, how and where we go and what to do. ALMOST EVERYONES first week of playing should be like this without the consequence of getting capped near a town like Elektro or Cherno. I know for atleast 4 weeks I never died nor did I just shoot at anyone. Everyone early on was like "wtf is this, yo dude can you help me. Man these zombies are scary as fuck (as u go prone next to them)" . The immersion was so insane and it made you addicted. Finally we find an airfield, still not getting into firefight at this point, and we find a DMR. WOW A SNIPER! *FAP FAP FAP*. Our first thought wasn't to kill each other or anything, but felt safer that we had a sniper now in our group. THe game is still early alpha and not a single "BIG" youtuber had even heard of it or had interest in it nor did popular websites like 4chan, reddit, etc. Finally after about a month more people started to hear about this mod and it got server populated pretty fast. We encountered a bandit for the first time. We killed him and was like wow that was close. But that moment stuck with us forever. He didn't tell us to stop moving he just saw my group of 5 and started shooting. From there on we said to ourselves, "trust no1". So we ended up going up and down the coast line and ran into 3 dudes. Both groups halting and freaking out BUT STILL NOT SHOOTING. After about 15min of talking back and forth we recruited them into our group. NOW we are running 12 -14 guys deep nightly on a server. Now early on food and water was so easy to get, you never had to worry. Now I feel like food and water are more scarce and harder to get ahold of, so we as a team designate peopel roles for ammo, weapons, food, water, medical supplies etc. THis type of immersion has never happened in a game before. Also during this time there was no vehicles so we just went to airfield looking for endgame gear and getting into small skirmishes, but the experience was different everytime NOW lets jump to now. Now there are over 1million UID and 1k's of servers. So a new player spawns on shore gets killed 5min into going into elektro and cherno without warning, without help, without mercy. No1 helps eachother. No1 is patient to group up. Everything is SHoot then ask questions. No1 groups up unless your friends. Endgame gear has been duped / hacked in so much that there is a huge influx of endgame gear circulating the mod. Was it expected? Yes, definately since Arma2 is a scripted based game. We who played early on knew this would happen but not as bad as it is now. I mean just last night, I spawn on coast, go into cherno, kill a guy with my axe and get all gear and a hacked as50 thermal (cool btw but fucking lame). I burry the body so no1 can get this gear again. I drop all the hacked items and end gear in water and wait for it to dissapear. No one chooses to be a hero (majority of the players). Everyone is running around using as50, m107, NVGs, etc is all starter towns killing new players and its Bullshit. So now sicne my group is tired of this faggotry, we decided that all 12 of us will slowly purge the campers of these towns. We go into servers in our secret spots (NO not ontop of cherno factories, thats too obvious and everyone spawns there hahah) and we kill these people and hide their bodies without looting them. I personally think until a good dupe fix is out and DB is wiped clean to start all gear and players clean this type of gameplay will continue. Hacking cant and wont be stopped since only battle eye can do that. Its in alpha stage, yes I get that which is why i and many others suggest a HIVE wipe and start everyone over clean again. If there is more risk in losing weapons and gear becasue duping is fixed the best of its ability people might find out how to play this game. Will gear get duped and circulated again? Yes of course, but it will be slower since everyone will be starting fresh with NOTHING and nothing saved etc. TL version : Game/mod was awesome and best immersive gameplay before it got so popular. Now just a fag fest of noobs thinking its funny to shoot then ask questions. Solution: Fix duping to best ability and wipe DB/HIVE and have everyone start completely over 1) better data gathering 2)People learn and see how game is supposed to be played. Also not meaning to plug my buddies videos, but he captures all the moments from early on that NO ONE ever gets anymore EVER This video is the very famous "Battle at Devils Castle" that many people here on DayZ Forums has seen. This was a large battle we secretly organized for 7 hours. This was also when Dsyncing was so bad that you moved it desync'd so it might seem "bad" but the mod was uh haha not smmoth, but the experience was just so insane I feel bad for those unable to be able to get this Also here is his playlist with all early footage

Dallas 69 @ 9:30 - 9:45pm EST 1 or 2 guys teleport hacking to players in Elektro. killing all players in city. Around 40 bodies dead in electro within a few min. We came over Daubry hill from the north then he(they) teleported to us killed us all within 2 seconds. *cant tell if it was 1 or 2 guys because shots were fired so quick from an m4 no1 could get eyes* Check script logs please

When you learn the difference between a Game and a mod all your arguments will be valid. Prime example here for ya: Counter Strike was a mod for half life that was in Alpha for almost 2 years before it became a stand alone CS1.6, but you had to by Half Life 1 to play the Mod. So yea, learn the difference between the 2 before you try and argue -

I didnt say he made arma 2 -.-, but DayZ was HIS mod that HE created from scratch using ARMA2 engine. Regardless if his mod runs on the arma 2 engine, it isnt his responsibility to update battle eye nor even think of how to take care of hackers yet because ALPHA is about getting data to get development ready for BETA. ALSO ARMA2 is a STRICK REALISTIC MILITARY SIMULATOR so hacking was something that honestly wasnt even on the minds of Bohemia Interactive because its purpose was to only simulate combat scenarios which is why BattleEye Anti Cheat was used (not the best in the world). But now that Arma 2 / Dayz is so popular they are updating the Arma 2 game with Patches weekly and its BATTLEYE's job to update their anti-cheat NOT ROCKET NOT Bohemia. -

It has to do with the AO Beta Patch. THey said it will be fixed next patch chillax. As said above it has to do with LOD on the dead soldiers/players/zombies. This glitch has happened a few time to all of my group a few beta patches agao and did it early on in the mod. Not a big deal :D -

BTW I am wondering how it is Arma2/DayZ fault for getting so big? Ya its their mod, but they didnt publically flash it in everyones face. It honestly had i think around 300-1k players during first release and for ALONG TIME. It was big Youtubers finding the mod themselves and showing it off to their subscribers and suggesting to get it. Thats 1 large way on how it got attention so fast. But Rocket is a GOOD/Excellent Developer by standing his ground saying that this game and will evolve it on HIS timeschedule and HIS visions, not ours (to some extent). That is the best way to develop something that you created from scratch :D. If ya don't like it, TOO BAD! -

THis wasnt my video, I just found it on youtube and wanted to share with everyone because it was so funny. Last ngiht I found a Bicycle and road the entire map on the coast with "Bicycle - Queen" playing through direct chat. *I got shot at ALOT* Bike btw is pro transportation hahaha -

I have only encountered 2 hackers, in which 1 entire group of one the hackers got Globally Banned. But you sound like your new to PC if you are whining about hackers. EVERY game in the PC world has hackers, you can't get away from them as they always find a way to hack a game. IF you can't handle that then go back to consoles, we dont need you here. ALSO since you are ignorant about the software developement process that EVERY piece of software and game development goes through, let me give you a basic overview Alpha is the stage when key gameplay functionality is implemented, and assets are partially finished. A game in alpha is feature complete, that is, game is playable and contains all the major features.These features may be further revised based on testing and feedback. Additional small, new features may be added, similarly planned, but unimplemented features may be dropped. Code freeze is the stage when new code is no longer added to the game and only bugs are being corrected. Beta is feature and asset complete version of the game, when only bugs are being fixed. No changes are made to the game features, assets, or code. *This is where hacking will be taken care of* Gold master is the final game's build that is used as a master for production of the game. WE are in ALPHA! SO stfu and either play the game as is to help make the BETA and Gold Better or go play another fucking game :D -
We decided to test out paratrooping at NW airfield. We had plenty of successful jumps as well :D

Im guessing the HIVE is having more issues tonight? All servers have "?" next to their pings, which indicates that ya still having server errors -
Ya my group of friends had alot of issues with the [AG] clan. We killed 4 of them when there was only 4 of them on and 30sec after killing them, they teleported beside us with all their gear and killed us and gave our models the models of white survivors with only a flashlight. Then proceeded to restart the server promptly afterwards so we couldnt have a chance of getting our gear back, even though they deleted it and modified out dead body models. This was about 2/3 weeks ago. Server is blacklisted on our side.

Just letting server team know that when the admin Extsy is killed in his own server he shuts it down and then locks it so he can get all his gear again. He has a huge camp at Cords: 076 011 with 7 cars and plently of tents. We raided his area killed him, started looting his place, 3min later he makes his server time out, restarts it, then proceeds to lock it. Here is video for proof.
