On a side note: do you check logs for script kiddies? I have a suspicion that something fishy was happening at 23:38 on 8th Dec (today). A;lone on the server. One other person joins. I wait a while to make sure he's not near me (NWA) no zombies spawn, so I move and suddenly someone in front of me - blam! Not 100% sure but v suspicious. I'll name names if necessary. Of course, he could be very good, very lucky or very patient, but my suspicions were aroused by the lack of zombie activity. Also, Discovered a dead body of "MadP" in a house at Zelenogorsk at 17.50 on 9/12/12 wearing army gear, ie camo uniform, and helmet. Is this somethingthat can be found on this server or is it hacked?

I've been scampering around on this server for a couple of weeks, and have noticed people trying this voting scam, and failing, so that fix seems to be working. However, I have come across some other dubious activity, from annoying, where players are combat logging (next version will put paid to that) ;) and outright cheating (god mode etc). Other than the inequity of being found and killed by bulletproof/combat loggers, I will continue to use it.

    [GUIDE] Vehicles & Repair

Saw a Landrover in need of repair on a public server, only to find it needed 8 wheels. IE FL, RL, FR, RR, (normal wheels) but then carries on with FL2 and so on. Clearly the LandRover 4x4 only has 4 wheels. Anyone have a clue whether this is just some admin error, a joke, or whether it is built into the object in the mod?

Once the game starts up in the main menu, just click on Player Profile and either create a new player name or edit an existing one. As far as I can tell, Dayz treats all profiles you create as if they were one "person", IE I can play as [fogey]mkiii or use one of my others and the result "in-game" is the same. Same location, same equipment, and same stats. I don't know if this will change in the future, so for the time being I will stick with [fogey]mkiii

An "old fogey" is what you would have called someone 30+ when you were a teenager... now those of us that are of that age don't feel like fogeys, but our kids probably still think we are. http://www.thefreedictionary.com/fogey Perhaps the German "Konservativer, revisionistische Person" will do - but fogey is shorter ;) You can be a young fogey too.

Any 40 somethings play this game?

Yup 50 and in the UK. Interests: losing cherished weapons while reorganising inventory, shooting entire clips of ammo at zombies to no effect and dying of blood loss / hunger / thirst when surrounded by walking food, standing water and blood packs. In response to another post, I have started adding [Fogey] to the front of my player name as a sort of unofficial old folks clan signature... I hope it will catch on, and if we meet, we can have a natter and cup o tea rather than shooting on sight.

Speaking for myself, I usually have a blast around 8PM after work, and sometimes, if time, wife and sobriety allow, for a while after TV has finished. This does have the advantage that the tiny ones are all watching X-Factor or in bed while I'm roaming Cherno. I think I'm definitely going to add [Fogey] to the front of my player name as a recognition symbol. I tend to stick to UK, French or German servers with few people on - call me old fashioned, but getting sniped for the umpteenth time does not appeal to me that much. When I can get past the random kicks for no obvious reason from Battleye that is. The chance to actually cooperate would be novel.

Join the club ;) I'm 50 and seemingly too slow witted to survive on a server that has more than a handful of people. I havent played online for years, not since COD became a bunnyhopping cheatfest. I guess having cronies might help break my record or 2 days survival so far. I have 0 murders, but not too bad on the Z count with an axe, assuming it hasn't now been nerfed along with all the other weapons in the last update. I suggest a loose affiliation with the prefix [fogey] to our names, so we can identify each other and perhaps not shoot on sight?
