    You bring honor to the bandit profession It doesn't matter how full your inventory is, someone always has something that you might need later on Also: why would I try to evade someone that I have the drop on? If you don't exploit the situation it can only get worse He might spot you and take you out after you turn your back on him Or your "evasive maneuver" gets yourself killed because you ran into the crosshair of someone else

But I'm hearing "No one says there shouldn't be downsides. But those shouldn't come from the game itself. They should come from something else. Again no one is saying there shouldn't be something, just not something that hampers our want to have our cake and eat it to" The downsides to shooting other players: 1) You make noise unless using a silenced weapons, zeds and players alike may hear you and advance on your position 2) You make yourself a target when looting, get shot in the process and loose it all 3) You may alert friends of the players you just shot, they can counter your position and end your life 4) You may waste ammo for nothing but food and water, that is not a problem unless you're running high grade military equipment with rare ammo Nothing is forced upon you, no message popping up and telling you "HALT RIGHT THERE CRIMINAL SCUM" Your suggestion is a mechanic that tells you not to do things because the mechanic wants you to obey "Oh no, don't you dare to shoot that person or I will let your screen go blurry and show pictures of dead persons to 'simulate' insanity" THIS is the definition of "artificial limits"

That's only true when you decide to spend 95% of your time on the coast Loot runs with starter gear are pretty easy, I've made dozens of them without ever being detected by a fellow player You don't NEED to go to Elektro/Cherno You are NOT forced to go there just to get some decent loot There are tons of way to get gear outside of the coast

Because the person I shot lacked situational awareness If he would've had scanned his surroundings he might've noticed me and reacted He fails to do so, he dies There should be no punishment for me when others fail to play the game, just because a random number has decided I would mentally break down from a single human kill Again, see my Amnesia reference, you need a confined enviroment for something like this to work, and it barely does in Amnesia already Having a sanitiy meter in ArmA2 would be, as other described it, a "cheesy" mechanic at best

This whole system implies that every character in DayZ has the same mental abilities and moral tresholds Yet you may find people that couldn't pull the trigger when their life depends on it, others would shoot your face and laugh about it And there's people between these 2 extremes Point being, you can't simulate psychological stress in a videogame unless you have a confined enviroment like Amnesia But even in Amnesia, where your characters sanity slowly starts drifting away, it's an awkwardly pointless mechanic once you get the hang of it I can't see how it would work in an open world sandbox like DayZ It adds basically nothing to the gameplay experience at all, it would only add an occasional fetch quest once you have killed too many human beings

Sandbox That pretty much invalidates everything you said You run through and open field and drop dead - Sniper You recieve multiple hits and see no person in your proximity - AR or DMR You see someone running towards you while unloading his pistol - Makarov/1911/G17/PDW You get eaten by Zeds - Zeds You fall into barbed wire and bleed to death - Barbed wire That wasn't that hard, was it?

Since you already suggested a killfeed showing who killed who with which weapon I want to suggest the following: A CoD-style killcam with slow-mo bullet trajectory Also while you see the killcam there should be WUBWUBWUB-skr1ll3x-crapstep to give you a sense of immersion that cannot be achieved otherwise It would not make the game "easier", but a bit more "comfortable"......which is basically the same thing in a different name..... Am I cool yet?
