The flies/crows on very low humanity discussion
DryGulch replied to switch296's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
Give people who survive a certain length of time, a bonus? 5 days: Need less food and water, as you adapt. 14 days: Can repair/Maintain vehicles at a reduced cost , as you learn. 30 days: Better night vision, as you acclimatise to rural life? Yeah, the bonuses are terrible because they just came off the top of my head. The goal is to make the life of your character more precious. This would cause pause in in all play-styles to engage in PVP, and for people to more closely weigh the pros and cons of engaging in combat and of even raiding an area for loot. Dying is not simply a run to pickup your loot from your mates. It does this without penalizing anyone. -
You do not know what that word means.

Rocket: when will drinking etc when logging in be remedied?
DryGulch replied to callahan9119's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
I didn't even realise it was just the regular hunger/thirst from being logged out for extended periods of time. I thought he was complaining about some new bug I hadn't experienced ...oh dear. -
20 words or less: Spawning without a weapon

NO I like the train of thought behind it but the Chernarus coastline will look like the D-Day landings. -
This is the MOST antisocial game ever
DryGulch replied to [email protected]'s topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
You just used a youtube video by a guy who openly admits to hating simulators, strategy and FPS to back up your point on a forum for a survival mod that requires strategy to survive, is based on a military simulator engine and uses a first person perspective ...seriously? -

@Virfortis When have i ever led you to believe that I do not understand the current state of the game? It's in Alpha, the latest patch notes show some changes to the zombies, I expect there will probably be more. I've got zero problem with this; they're great changes. Survival IS and zombies ARE a minimal threat, you're being hyperbolic. What will i do when the "consequences" hit? I'll either enjoy them and continue to play or I'll roll on to a different game. I'll tell you what I won't do. I won't moan incessantly about how other people play the game. If I can't adapt my play style to how Rocket shapes Dayz or the actions of other players, then it's my fault. That is something, I think, a lot of people on this forum need to learn. "Because Rocket has always said he wants consequences (not arbitration/forcing players) to certain activities." I don't think you'll find me disagreeing with that in any of my posts. But to be fair, could you do me the favour of actually quoting the man and not paraphrasing, for the sake of clarity. -

i don't think you know how forums work. Also, you weren't just asking a question, you were moaning. You're another bloody moaner who thinks he's a special snowflake and that his particular gripe needs to be addressed immediately. Grow up. -

It's in Alpha, it will be fixed when it's fixed. Go do something else for a while and keep an eye on the Patch notes. -

Be more wary when around other players? My character has been alive for over 30 days now. I don't seem to be having this problem so many are complaining about. Me neither. Ever since I found the NVG goggles I only play on pitch black servers and I tell you' date=' it's like night and day! No one ever bothers me at the edge of the map where I hunt animals and drink water from ponds. Yeah, all these people complaining that they get shot by everyone else are clearly not doing what they can to get out of sight. Which is entirely what this game is about. Those who disagree are either bandits or carebears. [/quote'] I hate to break this to you bud but you are a carebear. But you don't moan so you're ok by me. -

Yes, because I've calmly and rationally addressed every one of your complaints despite the difficulty in reading your posts. If I have missed anything then you're free to communicate them. -

No' date=' not yet. And it's funny that everyone who manifest against the suggestions just tell to find another way to do things ingame, but don't expose clear arguments about how these changes would affect them negatively. I cannot see either how can things become worst in this point. [/quote'] I've given you clear and sound suggestions for some of your issues. As for PVP: Q: Turn PvP Off? A: No. PvP is a core part of the DayZ atmosphere and we aren't going to restrict it. Just go inland away from the built up towns along the coast where players spawn. ^ Taken directly from the Forum FAQ. Now, what other grievances do you wish to air. I might add that starting threads about the community , that are essentially PVP moaning threads is a bit underhanded. There is a formal PVP thread on the forums for this. Ok, last time quoting a last-posts thread reader, who incredibly understood SHIT of what has been discussed until some posts ago. My apologies if I failed to understand some of your points , perhaps you could get someone you know who speaks English at a higher level of proficiency to post on here for you? -

there is a mod just above this section called Chernarus Apocalypse , it's single player/co- op dayz from what I'm lead to believe. Why don't those of you who can't stomach pvp in their game, go play that?

8 days and it all got swallowed by the camo glitch making me spawn in the ocean, I was happy to have the company of others at the end. -

Every time you post on this topic, you're sure Rocket is going to start penalizing players for engaging in PVP. I sure as hell hope you're wrong because that goes against the idea of a sandbox entirely. -

DE [SKS] Sonder-Kommando-Sturm is always locked
DryGulch posted a topic in Mod Servers & Private Hives
This server is almost always locked/password protected with 10+ players on it every time I log in to play DayZ. I'm open to hearing why this might be ,beyond exploiting a server with your friends. Edit: it seems, some fellow DE servers are periodically locking , I imagine this might be to control traffic or whatever, it's not the same as the issue above. -

I'm discussing the specific server above, if they're locking it just to farm loot then there should be something done. -

Where: DE5 - Devil's Castle When: Thirty minutes ago Myself and three others came into contact with the player Amb1en. I engaged him on the stairs of one of the buildings , firing twice with a Winchester, he spun and ended me with his Ak47, my three companions then killed him and proceeded to loot his corpse , as they were looting he re-spawned in the same place he died with full gear and they had to kill him again ( and loot him again). Now they have 2x his gear, just to clarify. UPDATE: They have come across him ( and killed him) again just outside Pulkova with the exact same gear loadout. This is not normal. Thoughts?

Agree in part, but only through complaining and server admins getting mad , will this kind of behaviour / exploitation become a priority and weeded out of the DayZ experience. I, in no way, want this game made any easier, but I want a clear set of rules to play by, even if they are organic and ever changing ( as they will be at this stage and to a lesser extent as development matures).
