  1. So what tools do I have to deal with them besides lowering my self down to their cunty level? accept that you got killed. respawn. A) find them & kill them. B) avoid their area It really is not hard to re arm with decent weapons in this game. so PVP is the only solution well that sucks, I wanted a social solution :/ like running their name through the mud and putting them on do not trust list. That sounds woefully boring, this is a Zombie Apocalypse simulator, you're not going to stop Bandits by calling them names or giving them bad credit..

    Just give the mods bigger chainsaws. I'm against censoring on a forum, but the sheer volume of repeat threads ( which are usually moany OP's ) is staggering.

  12. This idea would tear out a large part of the meta game, and it would be sorely missed. The 'leaky pipe' of too much KOS only needs duct tape for now. I'd wager that a lot of the random killing would disappear once there is : 1. Something to do besides murdering people once you have geared up and mastered survival. Idle hands do the devil's work. The game is still in Alpha and the content to try to thrive after the initial survival has not yet been implemented. 2. A solution to the frenetic coastal bean wars, that result from freshly spawned characters with nothing to lose. Although, personally, I don't see what the great difficulty with spawning and moving North is..I've only lost one of about 5 spawns on the coast because I got greedy and chanced Balotta.

  14. People,currently, don't have the tools to do anything in the game beyond survive, it turns out survival can get tedious. So, when they die, they're blowing off steam deathmatch style before thy get the patience back to play 'properly'

    They want the threat of bandits but they want it to be manageable, just enough danger to give them a slight rush, to sweeten the taste of their zombie slaying and loot piling. We add a bit of pepper to their role-play and a dark subtext to their youtube videos. But, when something doesn't go to script, when their merry band is ravaged by howling bandits and their corpses defiled, thrust back to the Heinz beach. They storm the forums and wail at its threads, demanding bells around our necks and sickness in our veins.

    Pretty much reads like, I don't want to compete for military grade weapons. Give me military grade weapons so I can PVE and look badass while I shoot cows.

  19. I posted this in a Reddit discussion on the matter, I've left in the replies from other users for context and for their contribution. Dry_Gulch EvE Online uses an 'aggression timer' that holds your ship (avatar etc) in-game for a set amount of time if you are actively involved in combat. This prevents people disconnecting to avoid loss quite well and might deal with server hopping to gain an advantage in a firefight. spyingwind This works really well for EVE, we even have implemented this for our minecraft server to stop combat logging. Both people, the aggressor and defender get combat-tagged for 20 seconds. Enough time to kill even the most armored player. Even then is they log in to many time in 5 minutes then they get banned for an hour. Dry_Gulch Nicely done, it has to, as you have done, scale to its intended environment. EVE, I think, uses 15 minutes; some of the capital ships have that much HP. spyingwind I would think a 3-10 second "avatar is artificially still playing" after the user logs out, or make it so that the player can't log into that server until some predetermined delay time has been met. I think the latter would be easiest to implement. Yes they could hop on another server, but they can't use re logging as a way to get the upper hand in shoot out. dev bukkit combat-tag mod We modified this for our needs, but the principals are the same. Dry_Gulch The time limit might need to be played with a little bit, I'm not sure 10 seconds would stop snipers from taking some pot shots and then logging.Even 60 seconds wouldn't be over the top for me, it stops the exploiting and isn't over the top when it comes to logging out if someone is in a rush IRL.
