that's where you should have stopped making ANOTHER thread and just added your thoughts to one of the MANY other threads on this topic. Seriously, most of the people on here have never used a forum before, we need to put a giant sticky with rules up.... http://dayzmod.com/forum/showthread.php?tid=10171 ... Oh look , it's right there.

Seriously what happened Rocket?
DryGulch replied to robersdee's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
Why the hell are these repeat moan threads let go beyond the first page, just lock the bloody things. Is no one else sick of repeating that it's an alpha!? I feel like I'm taking crazy pills!! -
Ah the early stages of a sandbox in alpha, there's not enough content (yet) for some people so the only answer is to post walls of text on the forum. Which is fine, and it shows the level of investment some of you have already, at this early stage. However, be careful to not get carried away waxing lyrical about the scope of a mod in alpha or even just a mod for that matter. You might end up punching a potato and wishing it was vodka.

Is this honestly a thread about there being too much space on the servers?:s

Please stop with anti-sandbox suggestions!
DryGulch replied to Arnoldio's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
I haven't played Eve but it seems (correct me if I'm wrong) that it would be a lot easier to gather people together on a common server to do this right? If that's the case no amount of spine transplant will make that system work here since often you cannot play on the same server you always want to - it's full, it's down, not enough slots for your team etc. That's what makes the idea of safe havens practically impossible for anyone that doesn't want to camp in the game 24/7. EVE takes place on a single server, the sovereignty mechanics allow to an extent for a defender to set up defensive battles closer to or in their timezone but it does not change the fact that space is at risk at all times from all players. -

[GALLERY] Pyramid Infantry - 1st Zed-Slayer Division
DryGulch replied to Adio's topic in DayZ Mod Gallery
If what has been said so far is true ... You guys posted screenshots of your camp ( like idiots) were surprised when you got attacked and then broke the rules to defend your camp? Is that about right? All this while gaming your server to farm loot. -

The bugs kill me more than the z`s and players
DryGulch replied to tintee's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
I offer you two choices. 1.Play the Alpha, report the bugs and be an all round cool guy. 2.Play the alpha and cry about bugs and get flamed for being a moaning waste of space. -
I hope the bandit skin never returns and you all collectively go mad from the stress/paranoia.

Vehicle modification ( you need drive-bys )
DryGulch replied to punisher_1's topic in DayZ Mod Suggestions
As much as it is silly and unfeasible, a little bit of me really wants to customize vehicles so I can pull up outside survivor camps and ... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9p8eO_LXvUo NSFW -
People are probably getting a little condescending on here because we've had to read more than a few moan threads that serve no purpose but to choke up the forums with pointless threads.

Virfortis, you have almost entirely no clue what you're posting about half the time. It's just wall after wall of gibberish, pseudo-intellectual nonsense. You cite zero sources for your broad sweeping claims, you misuse terminology which has been explained to you by people who understand it better and the icing on the cake is the general stench of assumed superiority in your posts. You're a bad poster.

Not empty quoting. Give the mods a bit more power to trim the replica moan threads that have zero content.

my first day "DayZ" forum/pvp observations
DryGulch replied to osiriszoran's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
I'd honestly like to know what people on the other side of the argument want to actually do. Hypothetical: PVP is taken out of Dayz today..what do you do in-game ? -
Server HACKED lost all my main inventory items!!!!

I see now why you mainly just stick to spamming image macros. -

I can see the point you're driving at, in that it stems solely from griefers. I'd argue that the term comes about more in sandbox /hardcore/ perma-death style games where PVP has consequences. You'll find griefers in almost any game.
-
I've nothing against them in-game at all. I , however, find the vocal, forum users, members of this camp can be very childish altogether. I'd wager the veteran Arma and EVE players came into DayZ with thicker skin and a better attitude towards the game.

i don't see the false dichotomy in this topic.

Carebear: Someone who enjoys the soft, undulating warmth of PVE content as it gently washes against their quivering bosom. They do not like to engage in PVP, and can generally be found being all kinds of mad/upset about it when PVP finds them. A lot of the folks on this forum use the term incorrectly.
