Six Launcher - Easy Install/Update, Find/Join DayZ servers, worldwide network
sickboy replied to sickboy's topic in DayZ Mod Troubleshooting
The biggest problem users have isn't the Launcher but the state of their game installation. We can try to better handle all these issues but they are not exclusive to launchers, they count just as much for manual installs, due to limitations in the game, patches or mods. You can keep old files regardless of using Launcher, but more importantly - versions and fixes need to be moving forward, both on the DayZ development side, on the Servers side and on the Client side. Nobody gets better from using older versions, you may experience it as the 'quickfix' but that doesn't change the fact. For actual issues with the software, you can find the Support box to report them with details and log files, then we can actually solve the problems. http://www.six-updater.net/p/support.html -

Sounds like your game isn't the right version or you have custom addons laying around in official game addons folders.Post the logs, especially RPT file; http://www.six-updater.net/p/support.html -
Servers are in the process of updating, ~316 already done it seems

My guess is that you need to update your game to patch v1.60. If still issues, please create a ticket with the game's RPT log file and the application log file; http://www.six-updater.net/p/support.html Thanks! -
Hey, if you could write a ticket with the log files and problem/error details, we can resolve it ASAP; http://www.six-updater.net/p/support.html

The issues reported by some people are because they keep @DayZ enabled while going other mods, mission editing, single player etc, while some anti-cheating measures were implemented recently that make those not a great experience. Just unload DayZ when wanting to play other mods etc, and there should be no problem whatsoever.

1.7.1.5 is old, 1.7.2 is new, the servers are in the process of updating. -
Try uninstalling the software, deleting the SIX Projects folder from Program Files (x86), remove shortcuts, and then cleanly install the software from http://www.six-updater.net/p/download.html If still issues, please create a ticket with details/screenshot http://www.six-updater.net/p/support.html and we'll get right on it. I can't launch the game without using Six Launcher.
sickboy replied to Gashed's topic in DayZ Mod Troubleshooting
Also the Launcher v2 is coming with much improved search amongst many other things: http://www.six-updater.net/2012/07/its-coming-six-launcher-v2.html But agreed with OP, the game should work with or without launcher :P -
Messing with the files is not recommended. If it says Chernarus is missing then the ARMA2 original game is not detected/loaded properly. Make sure the latest patches are installed, all the games have been run at least once through the Steam Launcher. Launching DayZ over the Steam launcher is harder, just adding -mod=@dayz is not enough, because you also need to load the ARMA2 game. You should be able to just launch using SIX Launcher: http://www.dayzmod.com/su.php

Nah that's definitely not any of the SIX Updater utilities' date=' if anything it downloads.Perhaps monitor the throughput with the Resource Monitor, available in The Task Manager, Performance tab. [hr'] 500 MB is rather excessive, 200 MB should be max at normal operation.Perhaps a memory leak, will need to investigate, but have not been able to reproduce such high usages yet. Did you find any pattern, reproduction steps to achieve these levels? Is it when performing several actions, or rather just when letting it run? Does it go down automatically, after any action, or rather only after restarting the app? Thanks -

Both, though the messages can be somewhat cryptic ;-) -
Installation help, after 5 days of trying even i am turning into a zombie....
sickboy replied to Occulus's topic in DayZ Mod Troubleshooting
Hm, that error would indicate wrong exe is used from wrong game version, the FAQ item is about using an older beta, well you can try it: make sure "Use Steam Launcher" is disabled, disable "Update Beta mod" too, and then manually install the older beta; ftp://downloads.bistudio.com/arma2.com/update/beta/ARMA2_OA_Build_93965.zip -
The Last Straw! - "Connecting failed"
sickboy replied to Meepo (DayZ)'s topic in DayZ Mod Troubleshooting
Hi, connecting failed should usually indicate issues with the connections either because there's a local firewall blocking it, or there's an issue with the modem/router or route to the server. The arma2oa RPT file could have some clues; http://community.bistudio.com/wiki/RPT -

sickboy replied to Occulus's topic in DayZ Mod Troubleshooting
Hi, When you receive CA missing addons messages it should mean the ARMA2 game hasn't been properly loaded. I suppose the amazon release isn't properly recognized? The serial issue could be from not having ran of the steam games through the steam launcher (started as admin) at least once. ARMA-X had some CD-Key issues that can be worked around with older beta but that should be irrelevant to this issue. There's a CD-KEY thread around that also covers Steam; http://www.dayzmod.com/forum/showthread.php?tid=28901 I suppose you've already touched the FAQ? http://www.six-updater.net/p/documentation.html Have you tried manually configuring the ARMA2 and ARMA2 OA paths in the Launcher Options? If still issues, could you please create a ticket with the log files, then we'll get right on it! http://www.six-updater.net/p/support.html -

Six Launcher - Easy Install/Update, Find/Join DayZ servers, worldwide network
sickboy replied to sickboy's topic in DayZ Mod Troubleshooting
It seems to want to initialize the mod for the launcher' date=' but it finds it already is initialized. You can probably workaround the issue by deleting the .rsync subfolder from the @DayZ modfolder and from the expansion\beta modfolder, and then rerun the launcher. I'll inspect the code paths, but it would be helpful if you could post the application log files in a ticket: http://www.six-updater.net/p/support.html Thanks! [hr'] I've found that if the following conditions are met, the experienced issue can occur: The DayZ or expansion\beta mod contains an .rsync subfolder, but the .rsync subfolder is either completely empty, or at least the .rsync\.repository.yml file is missing. Will improve the handling. Ticketed at: https://dev-heaven.net/issues/36144 -
Heya, There should be no need to remove existing modfiles, the launcher should pick them up and deal with it accordingly :) I'd recommend the Launcher for dayz use, the SIX Updater functionality will probably be merged to the new launcher currently in development. BTW you can find the official SU thread over here; http://www.dayzmod.com/forum/showthread.php?tid=5797

New build released with the announced improvements; http://www.six-updater.net/2012/07/six-updater-v297pre6-released.html Please specify, What is an awful lot of memory, and what are huge spike in data usage?Retrieving all the gamespy info etc, and of course updating mods costs data. The new build suspends sync operations by default while the game is running, which should reduce data usage and lag while in game etc. -
