  1. @Rocket , What you have in mind with the choices and consequences is definitely there. Me and my friend have had some crazy intense moments in the game coming down to whether or not to pull the trigger or just the moment leading up to doing so. Whether or not the humanity stat plays any part, for some I know it does, it is definitely there.
  2. It only counts as a defensive kill if you were hit by that players bullets before you hit them, it is a flawed system but then this is alpha. With all the problems with bandits (losing pack contents, spawning in the ocean, etc) they should just be removed and re explored later.
  3. Ive had multiple vehicles disappear between restarts on Dallas 1 Edit: don't mean to hijack the thread or anything, just that it seems tents and vehicles share a lot of problems.
  4. I had a jeep and a car stashed away (the car has no wheels since the repair state didn't save during the last patch) and lost countless guns, ammo, supplies to those damn FAL clips and grenades. Also how many inventory spots does a vehicle have? We were never able to fit as much stuff in ours as is in the one in the screenshots above, and when it was "full" if you weren't paying attention and put something in that wouldn't fit, good luck finding it on the ground, since the distance it would appear was different each place we parked. But the night before last our jeep disappeared and our car with no wheels got moved ten or more feet sideways somehow.. Still not comfortable putting anything in it in fear of it disappearing like before.
  5. Ya i think it obviously was supposed to be working, not sure why it isn't. Lets just hope it works in the next patch
  6. Tent and vehicle inventories are not working correctly David, should be fixed in 1.5.4. I lost a vehicle's entire inventory along with the wheels since the repair state is also not saving correctly in 1.5.3.
  7. Keep third person, ditch the crosshair and player spotting. I agree that 3rd person crosshair for shooting is dumb, and the spotting even dumber (thats what range finders are for), I look down my sights and generally go to first person for encounters but I run around in third person. You can argue all you want for this being a simulator, but there are people who just do not want to be forced to use only first person for various reasons, if you don't want people using 3rd person, dont play on the servers that have it.
  8. This same thing basically happened to me last night, the location of the vehicle saved correctly but the inventory and the repaired state didn't save. Rocket replied to my thread saying it should be fixed in the next update: http://dayzmod.com/forum/showthread.php?tid=776
  9. Date/Time: 5/1/12-5/2/12 What happened: vehicles did not save their state of repair or inventory correctly (but location was saved correctly) Where you were: Anywhere What you were doing: We found more parts to repair our first vehicle and did so, then we found a second and repaired it as well and drove them both back to camp. This took place between 9pm and 12pm last night. Upon logging in today at 10am, both vehicles were where we left them, but they were both reverted to the state of repair and inventory that they were in some time around 10:30pm last night, the second vehicle lost all repairs except the front two tires (which we did during the first trip back to that vehicle to repair it, all other repairs done on the second trip were undone). Also the repairs done to our first vehicle were undone. tldr: I was going to chalk this up to the server reverting to a previous state, but the location of both vehicles saved correctly and the inventories and state of repair did not. *Current installed version: 1.5.3 *Server(s) you were on: Dallas 1 *Timeline of events before/after error: 9-12pm 5/1/12, 10am 5/2/12
  10. Cool, and thanks for the quick reply although i wasn't on to see it til now. Having devs that communicate freely with the community makes play testing through alpha's and beta's so much nicer.
  11. This same thing goes for placing items in vehicles, except the items just fall on the ground. The thing is, I'm not sure how the game determines where on the ground they will appear, because sometimes its a few feet behind the vehicle, and other times you can search the whole area for a half hour and not find anything (tested with jerrycans). I think it might place them at the nearest flat spot of ground but I cant be sure.
  12. Someone said it was because they reset the server or something, but Dallas 1 was not sinc'd with the Central Time Zone that I assume it should have been sinc'd with. Also it became night time in my game about an hour before it was night for my friend who was playing with me in that same server at the same time.

    Cars

This is my plea for the inclusion of the mountain bike if it is not already in the mod, it is very quiet and doesn't require fuel but is for one person and has no storage, it would be perfect for the zombie apocalypse! Pretty please :D
  14. I use third person for running around especially at night if your carrying a light, but if I'm going to be shooting (which is rarely) I aim down the sights. The my only complaint with third person is the tags, you shouldn't be able to scan a ridge line and "see" the person that is prone on the other side of a pine tree with your cross hair.. Other than that I just find moving around easier in third person where I'm more aware of my surroundings. So keep third person, but remove the player name tagging and probably the cross hair as well.
  15. Yes, but make all the skins that are compatible with the backpacks available to players either by choice at spawn, or randomly at spawn. This wont be an issue in Arma3 since you can take the clothes off dead people which will made a bandit skin useless since they would just kill a civilian and nobody would know the difference.
