Anyone know how to do that flush thing on a laptop?
rooneye replied to Fahzula's topic in New Player Discussion
Hmmm it worked on my laptop. Do you not have the numpad? If not then do youhave the numpad on other keys, you know where you have to press Fn and the key? So for example you might have to do Shift + Fn + *whichever key the numpad - is on*. Also, if you mean you do the flush and then it goes black and flushes, but the graphics bug is still there? If so what I had to do on my laptop was do the flush then once it finished I had to press escape + alt + enter this made the game to into windowed mode (it also bring up the escape menu, you MUST press continue) and then press escape + alt + enter again to go back to full screen, this fixed the graphics bug 100% of the time. Just doing flush on its own did not work most of the time. -
To the people saying 6k and 8k is the same because its still a two shot kill, I dont agree at all. With 8K you know them down to 4K minimum which knocks them out and also when 4k or below you start to pass out often even when you're back up. Thats a massive difference.

Which app do you recomend to use to record videos?
rooneye replied to mitor's topic in DayZ Mod Gallery
You might wanna check this out, if you havent already: http://www.avermedia...ail.aspx?Id=571 Basically this takes all the hard work away from your system and does all video processing on the box it's self. That means it doesnt effect FPS and you can recored 1080p videos with no performance issues. The record button is cool too! xD But yeah I've heard a lot of good things about Dxtory as people have mentioned. Also another option might be Gamebooster by Razer, this has (or will, its still in Beta) video recording functions as well a supposed PC performance improvements while gaming. Whether its any good or does what it says it does is another matter, Ive never tried it. But you can download the beta for free from Razer website, so maybe thats something to try. -
Yeah that will work, but ONLY with servers that allow it. Does anyone know a list of servers that allow this mod? I would be interested to see it. So yeah if you have a server that allows this post it here please!

Day Z download link not working?
rooneye replied to ShadowOfAnAce's topic in DayZ Mod Troubleshooting
Its not faster or easier, once you have dayz commander you literally press 'install' and thats it. Manual you have to go on the internet find the patch download copy it to the folder and then use either another program or add the mod in the parameters. Thats way slower and less easy than DayZ commander. You also know as soon as the new patches are out because the install thing is yellow on commander. I agree people should learn to do it manually, there are soo many mods for ArmA2 out there, even ones like DayZ like Wasteland etc. that are really good, but its not 'easier and faster' -
Why does Dayz run so badly on my computer?
rooneye replied to Desertrobot's topic in DayZ Mod Troubleshooting
Black Ops and COD games in general arent more system resource heavy than DayZ is, my old laptop also could play COD a lot better than DayZ. COD is small compared to the Arma terrain, there's a lot more going on calculation wise, and of course the Zombies which are the number 1 reason for poor performance on DayZ. But yeah, this is a puzzling one for me, you SHOULD be able to run it with those specs for sure. Seems to me like there maybe something wrong somewhere with the hardware or something, what are your temps running at? Maybe the GPU/CPU is overheating or something which will effect performance. -
There are private servers that use these guns (well the VSS anyways, dunno about the other one). Maybe you and you're friends might wanna check it out. One of the Zombies.NU servers use them I forget which now >.<

Day Z download link not working?
rooneye replied to ShadowOfAnAce's topic in DayZ Mod Troubleshooting
You should maybe think about getting DayZ Commander, it makes things so much easier to install and keep up to date and also to install new islands. http://www.dayzcommander.com/ -
Why does Dayz run so badly on my computer?
rooneye replied to Desertrobot's topic in DayZ Mod Troubleshooting
You say you've tried all the tricks in the book, but what exactly have you tried? :D Maybe you're reading the wrong book :P If you let us know what you have tried maybe we know something else you can try? But tbh, if you've turned all the settings to lowest and it still lags I dont really think any of the little tricks for increasing FPS will make any difference. BUT, Im thinking you really should be able to play it with a decent framerate on lowest settings. I had an old shitty laptop with a ATI Radeon 4500 and a much weaker CPU than you and I could run the game on lowest settings with 20FPS, which is shit, was horrible to play, but with a much better system you should be able to do better. When you say you tried settings at low, do you mean everything on lowest? Maybe it does, but for the price you paid for it you could have gotten a MUCH better desktop. For half the price you paid for that, I could build a desktop that would blow it away. -
Yeah agreed. Just say your hiding in a bush and there are player around, but they don't see you or know you're there, and then someone randomly turns around or whatever and mouses over you, even though the guy cant see you at all he will see your name and know you're there also from behind walls etc.

'dayz_anim requires addon CAMisc_fix'
rooneye replied to Tighthead's topic in DayZ Mod Troubleshooting
Are both games installed in the same folder? I think you might need to do that. Seeing as you bought them from different places, they probably arent already. Copy your ArmA 2 stuff to your Arma 2OA folder. -
Where you from? That will make a big difference.
-
It should be the revolver!
-
It does not work :( You will get an error message saying that you cant join this server with said mod.
-
haha yeah that's the first thing i thought too. I think he meant Compilation? But yeah, definitely agree with the vehicle damage. A car blowing up after getting shot at with a Makarov is ridiculous. Considering ArmA is supposed to be like a military sim it's quite embarrassing how unrealistic and GTA like this is.

Spawning at night, and other problems.
rooneye replied to dizzle229's topic in New Player Discussion
Like others have said, definitely get DayZ Commander. You can see the time the server is running and you can also filter it so that only day time servers show. Also make sure to select a low Ping server. This should stop the no message received thing (if not there might be a problem with your connection which you should get sorted). And about Zombies, you'll soon realize how easy they are to lose :D Run into a building, round a corner or whatever and go prone. You can also duck into a bush and crouch, this way the zombies cant attack you at all, even if they see you and swing their arms as if attacking you, they wont hit you and after a minute or so they'll just forget about you and wander off. Personally I dont do this, I see it as a bit of an exploit, but if it will make the game more fun for you then go ahead at least till you learn the game etc. -
Yeah and it comes from FrankieOnPCin1080p from the youtoobs.

will the standalone support TrackIR?
rooneye replied to Rastamaus's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
Can you use this in the MOD currently? I imagine you can, right? If so it would seem illogical to remove it for the standalone. -
You already have DayZ Commander so install DayZ from that.

DayZ framerate issue on a very high-end PC?
rooneye replied to TheRealist's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
Just out of interest, when/where did you buy this system and how much did it cost? (if you bought it pre-build that is), I wouldnt like to think you paid a vast amount of money thinking you were getting a 'very high end' system and they put in such a shitty CPU and still charged you a fortune. -
When you say the rest you have, what exactly do you have? Because thats a pretty poor CPU to start, DayZ is more system resource heavy than ArmA 2 OA so just because you pass those minimum specs doesnt mean DayZ will definitely run smoothly even at the lowest settings.
-
It doesnt need XP or Vista, where did you get this nonsense from? Me and most other people play on Windows 7.
-
System specs? It's not the games fault if your PC cant run it.
-
You wont get banned, but you wont be able to join a server if you load an addon such as ACE. It just wont let you on. You'll get an error.
