This is why people STILL ask with great specs:

What do I need most to improve performance of DayZ?
rooneye replied to Rage VG's topic in New Player Discussion
Ahhh you did, then I dunno :( Ive never used these myself just heard about them thats all, shame they dont seem to work then (at least on your system). -
Will my computer run DayZ well?
rooneye replied to TheCandyMan (DayZ)'s topic in New Player Discussion
haha xD thanks man xD Didnt realise I'd hit the century mark. And yeah, Gamebooster seems to be exactly what i was talking about (free download): http://www.iobit.com/gamebooster.html -
Ahhhh so thats why Ive been seeing lots of cars that have been abandoned after a crash. You know when you see a car at a tree or roadblock, i guess they damaged their two front wheels and couldnt fix it so had to abandon it like this guy. Makes sense now. i mainly play solo and dont really bother with cars, but thats a bitch of a bug >.<

Have you tried any of those prgrams that stop background processes when your gaming so that your PC is putting the most power it can into just the game and not background processes? Maybe that might help i dunno never tried them, but ive heard you can squeeze some more FPS with low end systems that way. Could be worth a try I suppose. -

Yeah man the biggest thing that will make the game look the worst is 3D resolution. Try to have this the highest (up to your native screen res that is, so if your run 1200x720 normally on the desktop try and use that, if unplayable lower) you possible can with everything else on lowest. Having a lower resolution than the native one makes a MASSIVE difference and makes things look blurry as hell. there are also some programs you can get for windows that help with gaming. they stop all other background stuff running apart from the game so that your PC is putting the most power it can into just the game and not background processes. -

Oh yeah an i5 will do just fine. I just mean you WILL notice an improvement with an i7 over an i5 for editing whereas you wont really notice an improvement in gaming with an i7 over an i5. but yeah i5 will ge just fine for editing too :) -

You'll HAVE to play on the lowest settings no debate about that. -

Well depending on your budget, the GTX 660ti is great bang for your buck. Im not too knowledgeable with AMD so dont have a clue what theirs are like. For CPU's if you're just gunna be gaming and not video editing and such an i5 CPU will be perfect, you wont see much of an improvement with an i7 for gaming. Pair those with 8-16gb of ram and an SSD (seriously DO get one of these) and you'll have a great system for not too much money. You're best of saying what your budget will be, then you'll be able to get better recommendations. -

You'll get owned in most fire fights though. Just because your assault rifle with have a much SLOWER rate of fire than people with decent FPS and it will be much harder to aim with shitty FPS. -

Although I totally agree with the others.; To answer your question, get an actual graphics card, upgrade your CPU (if thats even possible) and get more RAM, thats what you COULD do. You shouldnt though, because it will still be SHIT and you will have just wasted money. -

Yeah with the addition of zombies DayZ is much more demanding than Operation Arrowhead, that system is going to be horrible, probably even unplayable. -
Same tents & vehicles going walkies even when saved. Also Im still seeing people putting up tents INSIDE buildings and on concrete, you're not supposed to be able to in 1.7.3.

Yeah I have the Naga, its awesome IMO, so many buttons xD i couldnt go back to a 4-5 button mouse now, im too used to having things like 'W' mapped to a button so i can run around with just one hand on mouse etc. etc. For keyboards, I would definitely say have a try of a mechanical one if you havent already. They have a much more tactile fell and sound to them that I (and most people who use them) find so satisfying, hard to explain the feel of it. It kinda makes you sound like a hacker from an old 80's movie xD Its also MUCh better if you can touch type you will be able to type faster once you get used to it. I use the Razer Blackwidow ultimate matches the Naga with the blue lighting and also has nice macro buttons.

Is it just me or is this band wagon jumping at its finest? -
Standalone should have a Namalsk like environment.
rooneye replied to koze's topic in DayZ Mod Suggestions
Yeah, not everyone who plays DayZ likes Namalsk, where as pretty much everyone who plays/likes the game likes chernarus (I mean thats the map everyone started with and you must have liked it to stay and try others.). I cant stand Namalsk OR a cold snowy enviroment. I love my green/golden autumnal foliage. -

Why I quit (yes another one of those threads)
rooneye replied to cloudsystem38's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
I play on a number of private hives and ive seen loads of people complaining they have lost their stuff just like OP. Private hives arent some mecca where there arent any hacks or glitches like some people seem to be making out. Yes hackers will get kicked much faster, but they can still teleport/kill you or whatever before they get caught. -
Just to make sure, Im sure you already do so dont get defensive if you dont (interwebz people tend to burst a blood vessel if you imply they might not know something) BUT you do definitely have the tires in your main inventory and NOT in your backpack?
-
All though, i really hope the stand alone DOES get rid of hacking. And I do think it will get rid of some/most of the hacks, but i still think hackers will find some way to exploit even in a more 'closed' engine. WarZ has been hacked already, still alpha of course so maybe they will fix and I dont know how 'open/closed' the WarZ (War Inc really) engine is.

How important is NAT Negotiation to server hosters?

Good lord please no Gamespy! Im an idiot and even I can see how bad it is! -
He plays in 1080p i think thats 1900x1080? Well here's a guy on Youtube with same GPU as the OP (all though it is over clocked, but he does have only half as much ram as OP) and same CPU, he has only 8gb of RAM and im not sure if he even has an SSD. He's recording in full 1080p AND he's using SweetFX which add extra graphics effects moer anti-aliasing stuff etc. (therefore using more system power i would imagine). Now he does have AA and Post Processing on Normal, not sure if he has that because he doesnt like the blur stuff and maybe the SweetFX takes care of AA, im not sure, though I would imagine even if those setting do slow it down a bit while recording in 1080p if you arent recording I would think you'd be able to turn them on no probs. I dont think he has an SSD either as he records HUGE 260gb files, so I imagine he has a large HHD. So maybe with the SSD he'd be able to turn them to high I dunno. But yeah man SSD really do improve performance a lot from what ive seen. EDIT: Also i remember watching a FrankieOnPCin1080p video about dayz. he has a beast system, but he was saying friends of his with worse system specs seemed to get better frames in cities sometimes, so he said he thought it was quite random and luck was involved a little xD
