Are you guys playing on the same server all the time, or have you both tried different servers? Ive had this sort of happen to me once, where my char kinda wnet back in time. I logged on near Balota and made my way to NWAF got some good gear etc. and when I logged off and came back on, i was back at Balota with my old stuff. This was a server issue as it affected not just me but others on server, so yeah, it could be the server and not yourself.

Ahhh so then there IS something wrong with the install for sure then. Have you tried to delete the @DayZ folder and install it again? EDIT: Also go onto commander and go to settings, it will show you the installation path of the mod. Make sure this is correct. There is a little tick box saying 'override' if this is ticked un-tick it. If it is un-ticked then make sure the path is correct and it points to your @DayZ folder in OPERATION ARROWHEAD folder.

Yes you can 'run two profiles', in fact you can have as many 'profiles' as there are private hives. So lets say you play on 4 different public servers, when you switch between those servers you'll have all same stuff etc. Now if you then go on a Private hive (ALL new maps are private hives) you will have nothing ON THAT PRIVATE HIVE (until you loot stuff ofc). If you go back to public you will still have all your gear you had on those public servers. So yeah, if you play 4 public servers and lets says you also play on 2 different maps Lingor and Namask. You will have THREE 'profiles' or characters whatever you want to call them. 1 Public character. 1 Lingor char. 1 Namalsk char. It sounds a bit complicated, but its not once you work it out :) Oh and yeah, always update man, you wont lose your stuff. And the updates are IMPROVEMENTS.

Maybe that server uses a custom version of DayZ? There are a few of these like DayZero DayZ Redux (i think tahts it). Not sure if thats what could be the problem, but if you can join normal public servers (the ones without the little cloud with the 'x' in) then there is nothing wrong with your DayZ install.

Aye I do agree. In a way. I hope the devs stick to one map and make it awesome. But i also do like playing other maps from time to time just for a change. So I would like it if the community could still make their own maps too.

This is a well known bug, right? Or maybe hackers, but I've heard LOTS of people complaining they've been sent to the beach, no stuff, broken leg. A guy actually had this happen to him on my server couple days ago. When I said "oh yeah, that happens quite a bit, ive seen a few people have it happen to them on the forums" I got a reply of "lol BS imma have to call you out on that one dude, no it isnt. The guy has clearly been playing on a private server and now hes came to this one he's lost all his stuff" "How do you explain broken leg and ghillie suite?" ".....*silence*"

That should do well for DayZ I cant say how many fps, but I would imagine it would play pretty nicely. If i were to make an improvement if you get a bit of cash down the line is get a SSD hard drive, they do make a big difference performance wise. You dont need a big drive at all, just a small SSD for boot drive then use the big HDD for storage. Or maybe even get a smaller SSD and use it as a Cache drive. the performance boost is very nice and very noticeable.

Hmm when your 3D resolution is lower than your screens native resolution it will be very blurry. Go into options and make sure its 100% If its not that, i can only assume its the Post Processing effects? Try turning them down. Or is it the HDR? I forget. If its none of those two, try going into control panel on your PC and bring up your graphics card settings. I know on my old laptop there was AMD Vision Engine Control Centre and I could choose between maximum performance or maximum quality. When I chose performance it lowers the graphics and makes it look blurry as hell.

I have to say I disagree with both of them, no offence of course :) Firstly the Eject is there for emergency situations where you need to get out FAST adding an extra step to it will make it take longer and be more fiddly, when you're about to crash or whatever thats the last thing you need. The second, I think even you will admit you havent thought it through properly xD On another note, whats happened in Colorado and Washington? xD

Isnt it possible to tell he was hacking just from the logs though? (I have no clue about logs xD I just thought you could, and have heard admins saying it). If its not possible then that does suck if it means multiple reports from different people are needed its going to be MUCH harder to get rid of these James Blunts.

Why would you get a laptop for DayZ (and gaming in general)? Have you already ordered/bought it? If so I would ask your parents to try and get a refund and get a tower PC. If you have already bought it, you should have really asked this question BEFORE you wasted the money on that thing.

Although I dont think this will be in at release, I could see them adding down the line for sure. Just seems like a given to me. Maybe add to and improve/make a lot easier the clan logo stuff. Its pretty cool when you see a car with a clan logo on it or a chopper. Do the Camo clothes have a clan logo on them?

Yeah it is BAD imo. Specially if you're gunna go use these weapons against other players on a high pop server, which I take it you must be otherwise why go back to the high pop one. To me its just a childish thing to do. I would bet that its mainly the younger ones that do this.

Ohhhh BTW forgot to ask this, but how long have you waited? Because on some servers I get the Loading screen (no bar just the text) and it takes forfuckingever, long enough for you to think, feck it this has frozen. So if you havent already try just leaving it on when you're watching TV or something. If you already have waited a stupid amount of time, then im stuck >.<

Well it must be installed correctly otherwise you wouldnt even get to the loading screen, right? I mean when you do try without it being installed you get kicked right away and it sayd "Addon *whatever* cannot be found" or something similar.

Some private servers still have the debug menu. The one that I sometimes play on does CA1 (and yes it is 1.7.3 it has the combat timer and car repairs etc.). But yeah, if you have to play on public servers or private ones that dont have it on for whatever reason, you have a car or camp or whatever your stuck with out it, I cant see it coming back.

indeed, there is an addon for ArmA 2 that does allow you to do this, so i would imagine its very much possible to add to DayZ. I forget what the addon is now, though I think it does slightly slow down the default run and speeds up the sprint to compensate.

Log into the game and try it. No you cant 'run' and shoot at all. the only way you can shoot is aiming down sights and soon as you do that you're slowed to a walk.

4GB of RAM is so low these days specially with Ram being so cheap. £17 for 8gbs of ram (corsair 1600MHZ ram too), spend it and get it xD I had 4gb on my mums shitty old laptop I used to play on and its a few years old. A custom built gaming PC in 2012 with 4GB's of ram?
