Yeah I got this too from one server I played on yesterday. Its purely a server thing, not anything to do with you (at least in my case). I didnt change anything on my half, but one day it said this (and there was always 0 people on when it was saying incorrect version so i assume others werent able to get on, this coupled with the fact that I didnt change any settings and the next day it was fine leads me to conclude its a server issue and nothing to do with you or your settings). Like I said this might not be the case for your problem, but thats how it was with this server (UK 172). One day i could play, next day "Incorrect version", i didnt change anything, but next day it was fine.

No you cant run DayZ with integrated graphics mate, its just not gunna cut it im afraid. I would of suggested buying a new graphics card, but I didnt realise it was a laptop at first either, not sure if you will even be able to install one, some laptops you just cant, some are more trouble/money then they're worth too (to install a new GPU i mean). Hmm maybe you could I dunno, might wanna look into that. But either that or getting a new PC, i would say is the only way you are going to enjoy this game, sadly :( And you dont need $4000 you can easily get a nice (tower) PC for $500-600 that will run this thing fine. Take the $400 you are willing to pay, wait a month or whatever and add $200 to it and get a new machine. That would be my advice. And OA uses higher textures and things like that, theres a lot more in it. And DayZ has Zombies (PC killers) so you're never going to get same performance as ArmA 2 free.

I guarantee you'll be playing DayZ SA even with Bandit Skins. By then your butt wont be so hurt, you're nerd rage will have calmed and you'll buy it on release day.

Do you not have a graphics card at all? If not there's your problem. On Board graphics are shite. Re-installing wont do anything, you're wasting your time. And to the OP an Intel Core 2 is a poor CPU nowdays. ArmA 2 is CPU intensive and I imagine your CPU is bottlenecking your GPU, which isnt a bad GPU at all. i would also recommend getting rid of Vista (worst OS ever IMO) and getting Windows 7/8.

Lets be honest, running around in the world and not seeing anyone is boring as hell (at least for me, not the kids that like to go on empty servers to gear up because they suck at the game). Therefore I would suggest joining the highest pop server you can with reasonable ping. Once you get a tent/vehicle and start to make a camp though things change a bit (at least for me), because now you will most likely play on that server mostly so you want a server that ALWAYS has a decent amount of player on. Like sometimes a server will have 50 people on, so you think great ill make this my home server, then you come back tomorrow and the next day and theres like 3 people on. Find a constantly high (if you want high) server.

Yeah, its definitely possible, I've seen a few on choppers and cars. However, I think its prohibitively complicated and thats why you hardly see them. i looked into myself, but it was far too hard for me, i dont know shit about XML >.< But they do look cool as hell and i wish it was simple to do, maybe even built into the stand alone that would be awesome.

I take it it's a server you usually play on that isnt usually locked? This sometimes happens to a server I play on, when they are doing maintenance or something. Usually doesnt last long and after a while goes back to normal and I can join again. Maybe thats whats happened? How long has it been like this?
