I take it you're a call of duty player where bullets go exactly where the centre of your screen is when you fire and there is no bullet travel time etc.? To hit a moving target at distance on this game (or IRL) you aim ahead. Pretty standard physics. Would be awesome if the pilot came here :D Then the party poopers would have no excuse! He hit it! Im always right so I should know! But that brings me to a more serious point. Vehicle damage in this game. Any military chopper pilots out there? Is this a realistic thing? Could one bullet like that take out an engine so easily? (If thats what happened, and it did, see above :P). For example the way cars blow up in this game if you shoot them enough times with a fucking 9mm is stupid. They dont do that IRL, I should know, I dont own a car or a gun! I thought ArmA was more of a Military sim than GTA 4? I hope the vehicle damage is more realistic in SA and even Arma 3.

Right :D But yeah, Alienware are for people who dont really know their stuff and are willing to pay the (huge) extra price to MAKE SURE they get a gaming PC. Doing a tiny bit of research or asking in here will get you a much cheaper PC that will run exactly the same. Dont waste your money on Alienware.

Hmmm...Have you tried this on different servers because I know that direct chat wasnt working on a server i was playing on. That might be what it is? If not then I have no idea, sorry :( Ohh nearly forgot. Just to make sure, have you gone into your sound options in game and made sure your mic is turned up or whatever?

But we cant see over walls or round corners IRL. Thats what i dont like. And what has an MMO got to do with anything, i dont get what you mean?

No I wouldnt quit. I'd actually prefer it tbh, though I will admit, I do use 3rd person just because you have an advantage over the 1st person view. Yes there are expert servers, but not enough and often not many people on them. I would prefer that all servers were 1st person, just a personal preference. I need the game to force me to use 1st person because i dont have the...will power? To use it if the 3rd person is there :blush: pathetic I know!

I did not know that, so have my Heinze's for teaching me something :D though I call clips mags, kinda the opposite, but yeah, Im still gunna call em mags though, people just know what you mean when you do. Same with calling them all clips, seeing as most people dont know there is a difference it would just lead to confusion I started saying "I have 2 clips and 4 mags" xD

Hmmm while I dont know what that means exactly, I would suggest getting DayZ commander if you dont already and make sure you have the latest ArmA 2 beta patch.

A solution to this 'problem' ( I dont personally think it is a problem mind) would maybe be implementing ACRE in DayZ :D Would be awesome IMO. DayZ should have Radio's would be so cool. If you dont know what ACRE is, its an addon for ArmA 2 and a plugin for TS3. It makes it so that when you speak you can be heard 3D positionally (hard for me to explain, but just say someone is to your right and speaks, you can tell where they are, you can tell they're on your right hand side if you get me).

DO NOT speak in Side Chat on DayZ, Ive never played a server where thats allowed. I've played on a lot of servers with Side Chat and people (rightly so) get PISSED if you keep speaking over side chat. No one wants to hear you talk if they're trying to listen for footsteps or whatever. Or if their in a tense situation then someone screams "Friendly" over side chat and they jump out of their skin, maybe even accidentally firing their weapon :D I speak from experience! They'll ban you too if you keep doing it. Either change your chat channel to direct every time you want to speak OR (the best thing to do) go into options and set Caps Lock to only speak over direct chat. Now even if you are currently in side chat TYPING away (thats totally allowed) then someone jumps out at you and you dont have time to switch channels, once you press the caps lock it will automatically put you in Direct chat while you are speaking and then back in side once you stop. The excuse of "Someone jumped out quickly I didnt have time to switch channels" wont cut it mroe than once, when it takes 10 seconds to change one option that will make this never happen again.

This wont 'fix' anything, but have you tried DayZ Commander? If that works at least you can play DayZ without restarting, and its much better than the default ArmA 2 server list thing MUCH better.

Hmmm have you tried RAMDISK? I havent myself, but Ive seen others recommend it. Maybe try looking into that. Or one of those programs that stop background processes to free up your system resources so the game can have more. Never tried those either, but again seen other people mention them.

Wow. Though doesnt surprise me tbh. i remember someone asking about that DayZ Commander (And also Play with Six) cuts off peoples internet, both of their replies were "get a better router?" (that was the Play with Six guys exact response and the Commander guy was near enough exactly the same reply, i forget the words, but it was pretty snobbish)

Because a video is only 24FPS. Watching a video is NOT the same. You WILL noticed a MASSIVE differnce if you played it. Unless you're 'special' or just dont want to admit it.

The key word there is 'pretty'. If you can shoot pretty well with that FPS, you'll be able to shoot much better and more importantly QUICKER, quicker to aim and also a faster fire rate.

Just put "Tracers off" or something, but yeah I have to say, you DO want to sort this out if Commander is saying you have tracers on. I know i for one stay away from a server that has tracers on in Commander. In fact I have it so that servers with tracers dont even show up. Im sure im not the only one who does that, so you're probably not getting anywhere near the amount you would if your correct settings were shown IMO. I dunno maybe try contacting the Commander guy, i forget his name now. Someone will know him.

15 FPS is laggy as hell, you can actually see the little 'skips' as your running, its choppy. Try this; fire your automatic gun on full auto while looking at the ground or sky, then aim forward and do the same. you will notice the gun fire rate is MUCH lower when not aiming at the ground, its so slow. So if you go toe to toe with someone with a decent PC, you're getting owned, as they can fire 10 bullets by the time you've fired 3, unless the other guy is shite ofc. Also aiming is MUCH harder at these low FPS's, yes you can do it, but i guarantee you'd be a BETTER player with a proper decent FPS.

Its the loudest gun on the game. Period :D And even if your not one of those bandit snipers (that people HATE in this game :D ) that camps on sniper hill and kills anyone and everyone, you can still use it to provide over watch for some friends/other survivors. You sit on a high ground looking into city/town while a friend goes in a loots the place, if any bandits try to kill him/her you take them out with your one shot kill beast. Definitely keep it IMO

First definition on Urban Dictionary: A bambi is a FRANKIEonPC channel meme referring to "new players" in games, who don't have a clue what's going on! Bambies are NOT "noobs" - noobs are good players who abuse broken / overpowered game mechanics -That guy cant play for shit! -He must be a bambi... Although tbh, people use it to mean players who dont have the best gear now. Like if people see someone with a Czech backpack and an Enfield, hes a bambi.

10 FPS? Really? Thats unplayable. I dunno if you think thats gunna be so much better than 5, but its not, its still going to be choppy as hell like it is now. All you can do is turn everything to the lowest setting, but I assume you've already done that, if not then yeah do it. Go into options and turn everything to lowest. Its not hard to do. Obviously we have no specs to go on, but I can pretty much tell you just from this, you're computer is just nowhere near good enough to play this game, sadly :( You can try all the settings and tricks in the world, but you aint gunna get this to be playable.

Yup same as the M9, PDW, Glock 17, the Bizon, the MP5 (and SD). However the Makarov is WORSE than all of these due to its shorter range (only 50m)

So what is your Caps Lock key set to EXACTLY (there are a number of different options).? And what happens when you are holding down Caps Lock? Do you get the mic icon? Also just to make things more simple, can we stop talking about ACE, ACRE & TS3 as they have nothing to do with this now. :)

I agree, then again maybe that would be a good thing? There would be these kiddies who want stuff like this so they go to that server, but there would also be people who like to play it properly and so they go to the proper servers. This would divide the kiddies who want easy mode from the peeps that want to play the game as its meant to be.

Well i also sometimes play with ACE and ACRE and TS3. But when I go back to DayZ i can still use direct chat because ACE and ACRE dont change anything if you dont have them on. You do realise you have to press a button to talk with out ACRE & TS3? You cant just talk, you must press button while talking. Caps Lock. Make sure you are in direct chat and press Caps Lock. If that doesnt work go into control options and make sure you have the Caps Lock key set to voice chat.
