Not sure I follow. "The real cool hand"? EDIT: Oh, so this person is not at all Cool Hand. Why would someone go out of their way to do all of this? They have tarnished the reputation of a potentially good server for absolutely no reason. I'm frankly tired of this entire fiasco, from the flaming in my inbox to now apparently it not even being the real person. Must I personally go and get the real Cool Hand just to make sure that we know who the hell knows what? -
The "Hardcore" and non "Hardcore" are two valid ways to sort of differentiate from one part of the community. To me, anyone who plays on default settings or harder with the intention of getting to End-game pvp level is hardcore. Anyone who plays casually, like on servers with looser settings or they just like to mess around, are not hardcore. Neither are better than the other, and anyone who thinks otherwise is silly. It's like the "Casual" and "Competitive" variation between other games like FPSes and Fighters; those who play to get better are competitive, those who play to fully enjoy themselves are casual.

Click the icons to play the game. Wait until it loads up the main menu, and choose exit. Do this to both games, then try and reinstall DayZ. -

Make sure you boot both games to the start menu. Some files are not created until the first time the game is run. -

This was the ideal response to the situation. That right there would've made this thread about 20x shorter. The response you gave, however... Was disgusting. Not only is this an ideal example of how you don't reply to someone who has had a negative experience on your server, but it is not how you treat any individual on these forums, period. I understand the need to defend your server from incorrect accusations but there really was no need to be so aggressive. I hope you take this as a learning experience and keep a cool head next time. -
Look, I agree with you. The wait is getting rather silly for a game that was hoping for a release soon. And there isn't that much recent info being released. But we all know this. We do not need a thread going over the same points each week. We already know. There is nothing new to be found in a repeated thread.

No. They're different games. If I recall correctly, DayZ won't even use the A3 engine, it uses a custom A2.5. -

Well Steam doesn't track game time properly for DayZ, since it isn't exactly ArmA II, since it says I have like 15 hours when I know for a fact I've played much more, but every time I see Matt on Steam 9/10 he's on DayZ. He's also appeared in many community events in the game. So he is indeed an active player. Except you've paid literally nothing yet, and you don't have to purchase the Alpha at all; you can purchase the full game when it is released from alpha, you will just miss out on both the discounted price and the opportunity to provide constructive feedback for the game. -

Private hives are servers that are not connected to one another. Public hives are connected to all other Public hives. -

Not only are you honest with your age but you've gone out of your way to not only ensure you pass the age requirements but to actually consult your parent when you found out you were too young. I don't care if you're a "squeaker" or not, you're plenty mature to join us in my books. 1. The prime definition of Sandbox. 2. No. I wouldn't recommend looking for an SP version as they are usually CD-Key stealers. 3. Some modded servers have them, vanilla does not. 4. Well, you CAN go into and hide in buildings if you choose but there's nothing stopping a zombie or another player from walking in.
