  1. I shall answer the question using your words only. Aaaaaand there! Long story short, the players didn't change, there are just more of them and therefore the banditry is easier to notice. It's not like banditry has NO drawbacks at all. Whereas say 70% of players (Including bandits) would shoot a survivor on sight, I'd say about 90% would shoot a bandit on sight. I agree, not much, but there's still this to consider.
  2. ...What? That post you quoted was not about anything you just mentioned. It was to reply to the notion that people play as bandits purely because they don't give a shit what people think about them, which is completely wrong. I don't expect you to have seen my post in which I actually talked about balancing out the pros and cons of banditry since it was in another thread, but at least if you're going to reply to a post, say something that is actually relative to what it said.

    Remove Teamspeak.

Pretty sure you can set whether programs have access to your microphone which is beyond the control of the program, making this useless.
  4. It's not a "It's the internet, nobody knows me so who cares" mentality, It's a "It's a game where I can do what I want, these items are virtual and opting for a valid and supported playstyle in no way defines me or my personality, so why not pick the one that appeals to me the most?" mentality. What you have is a "These people aren't playing or thinking like I am, therefore they are assholes" mentality, which breaks 75% of all discussions about the subject of PvP. Tell me you legitimately want to fight zombies and absolutely nothing else and I'll laugh and point you towards plenty of games where you can PvE until your heart stops beating. Because this isn't one of them.

    Remove Teamspeak.

No, not exactly. I believe if there was a way to achieve something to a similar effect, they should do it immediately. I just don't agree with the notion that we should block external programs that have no interaction with DayZ just to force a certain aspect of it, even if the player doesn't wish to experience it.

    Remove Teamspeak.

Now, how many people here do you think would have heard of this game? I don't want to come off as sounding horrible when I ask this, but there is a valid point.

    Remove Teamspeak.

May I ask what the name of this game is? Trust me, I'm going somewhere with this.

    Remove Teamspeak.

You can't "Remove" Teamspeak, as it's not a part of DayZ...

    What am I doing wrong...

I'll skim around the forum, see if someone else has come up with a conclusion.

    What am I doing wrong...

And repairing it will ensure that nothing went amiss when you installed. Otherwise, I'm stumped, sorry.

    What am I doing wrong...

Ah, well I was unaware you were referring to the Lingor mod... I suggest "repair" on the Lingor updater, see if that does anything. I know my friend had a few issues with 1.1.1 himself.

    What am I doing wrong...

According to that, you are running DayZ 1.7.3 (As you have stated), however the server is running 1.1.1. I'm new to DZC so perhaps I'm wrong, but maybe look for a server that isn't 1.1.1? EDIT : As an example, here is a server that is running 1.7.3, and I am capable of joining it, and then this server is running 1.1.1, which I would be unable to join.
  13. "You won't believe what happens" Challenge accepted! Before I watch the video, I guess you take out the driver. EDIT : Well, you took out the engine. Touchè.
  14. It was always like this, as this is a survival mod, and betrayal and deception are a part of surviving. If you honestly think people would not do the same thing in a real apocalypse, you might as well change your name to "Thomas McZombieFood". You will learn that you should never make it beneficial to attack you, be it you are much more likely to kill them, or they really need you to help them with something. NEVER allow someone to see you without either or both of those things, and you won't be betrayed. You'll get the occasional idiot who shoots at you for the sake of killing you, but that's not betrayal, that's banditry, and without it the game would be stale for both types of player (The ones who are trying to survive and the once who thrive on killing others)

Murdered in the super market by jack frags

And you are certain it wasn't someone with a similar accent...?
  16. Not too sure that there's a measurable amount. I think it just depends on what server you play and what happens during your session.
  17. It's not just most girls who are stupid. I think most people have some beef with common sense for whatever reason. Perhaps their common sense ran off with their childhood crush and they never got over it. So anyway, yeah. Beans to you.

    Global banned :/

And thus why you never download anything DayZ related unless it's DayZCommander.
  19. Allow me to reiterate: Being a girl doesn't protect you from a bullet in this game. No matter how much stuff people give you, someone will still crack a shot into your skull and take it for themselves. I have played many MMOs. In a competent group of players, nobody gives a diamond-encrusted fuck what kinda chromosomes you have. Anyone who does is a legitimate pillock and deserves to be surrounded by incompetent players where they belong.

    You Smell

Well I've never really had any complaints about it being hard to read before, but since you are capable of asking nicely, I suppose I can oblige.

    You Smell

In agreement to the post above me, I propose that instead of making PvP less fun or harder, just make fighting zombies more fun/necessary. Take for example, Dead Frontier. That has a PvP system but most people do not partake in it because it's much more entertaining/rewarding/satisfying to fight a giant boss zombie such as a Flaming Giant Spider for its loot. We should focus on features and systems that promote co-operation without punishing lone-wolf players. The trading system is one such example. A lone-wolf doesn't need to group up with people he needs to trust in order to get what he needs, he could instead be gathering things on his own, happen upon a small outpost that's willing to take whatever excess items he has for ammunition or resources. This does not completely shut out Bandits, as they can still trade between one another even if they are exiled from settlements, and these trading outposts would give bandits more things to target, which then means they are less likely to target new-spawns.

    noob help needed!

A good idea is to pay attention to the second line of text that pops up when you spawn. This will tell you where you are in the map, and you can use DayZDB to find loot locations. If you really need some extra help, let me know.
  23. "Hospital glass kill mah pappy." Also, in case you didn't know, if there's only one item on the ground and you want to pick it up (Like those binocs you found behind the market), then press enter (default) and you'll pick it up without opening your gear or anything.

    DayZ | Question Time [#3]

Primarily not have shot a zombie near a city anyway. But for argument's sake, I'd approach from a safe distance and ask if they need anything. Unless I'm low on supplies, in which case I'd avoid them altogether.
