Clothing Durability & On ground models.
Rage VG replied to m.w. vindicator's topic in DayZ Mod Suggestions
I'd only like the idea of clothing durability if at 0 durability it just became useless instead of simply disappearing. For example, once a pair of jeans hits 0, they couldn't hold any items, and any other passive effects are lost until replaced or repaired. This is because I don't think it'd be very logical (although very funny) for a zombie to run up to me and literally punch my shirt off. If you must have this, at least let me keep the item so I can repair it and wear it again. -
Pretty sure we're not getting new forums. At least, that's not what I've been told.

Even though it was a joke, I had no problems reading that. It did make you look kinda silly, putting "random" words in italics, though. :L

But, Did you dislike them because they were assholes, or because they were children? That's what we're asking. If I were to elaborate, I mean that you either think: Children should not be able to play whether they are spoilt immature brats or respectable mature kids, however you feel that an adult can play regardless of if he is a cool, calm, responsible dude or a douchenugget. OR You feel that mature, sane people should be allowed to do as they please, be they 18 or 12, and that the assholes/easily impressionable should stay off it, even if they are legally an adult. At the same time, there is really no way to tell whether or not a child is mentally stable/matured enough to warrant access to a game with violence/etc, but there's also no saying they're not, which is why I strongly feel that every parent should allow their kids to try out these more mature games, but only whilst they can supervise. If your kid (BTW, I'm not directly referring to you whenever I say "you", only to those that this applies to) is shooting at a body on the floor screaming "HAHAHAHA DIE STUPID FUCKER" down his microphone, he obviously isn't matured enough to play, and if you're not watching to stop them, not only are you potentially ruining that child's mind, but you are severely degrading the experience AND social image for those who ARE mature enough. On the other hand, if your kid's there playing the game as it is meant to be played, having mature conversations, and exercising logically sound behavior (e.g when angry at the game, simply taking a break instead of screaming), I feel they'd be perfectly fine to play it, even if you're not around. I do feel sorry for those good kids who try to socialize online. Anyone who is older immediately belittles them, and I despise those types of people. I remember back when I still had an Xbox 360, and I was an avid Halo fan. I met someone who had just turned 13, and we met in matchmaking and we worked well together, decided to party up and spent quite a few hours playing. We ran into plenty of dickbags who were like "lol stfu mickey mouse", but we quickly silenced them (either they were surprised that I would stand up for a little kid, or that we worked so well together we practically shut down their entire team). All in all, I feel that it goes against logic to look at age over mentality. How old you are never reflects how mature you are.

Really disappointed at the number of people getting uppity about the use of the word "Bambi". He's simply adopted a term someone else has used. Whether you like it/the person who coined it is irrelevant, especially in a thread that's about something else entirely. Back on topic, I'd think that it'd be pretty useless/impractical (Considering it takes you years to kill anything with a crowbar, how long would it take you to take something down with your fists?) whilst still really neat/hilarious at the same time.

I tried going on it, realized that even if it was up, my dongle wouldn't let me on there. Anyone mind shooting me a PM when it's up, and if anything's changed? D:

Wait until it goes up and find out, eh?

I don't think it makes a difference, so just go with their site.

Basically: 1. Go get DayZCommander. www.DayZCommander.com 2. Run it and install the latest version of: DayZCommander ARMA II Beta Patch DayZ mod Any maps you intend to play on 3. Search for a server using DayZCommander. Make sure to tick "Hide wrong ARMA version" and "Hide wrong DayZ version" 4. Let us know if it works.

I honestly agree with you. the CBL is not working at all. So many people on there that are trying to appeal and getting no response. Even if it was made with good intentions, we shouldn't have our servers relying on such a thing if it's not going to be correctly monitored. I'd be all for abolishing it. Servers can keep their own ban lists if they want to share them, but this is ridiculous. A player can be added onto there for something as stupid as a glitch kicking him, and now his game is essentially unplayable. If you really have done nothing wrong, stand your ground. Look for servers that don't use this list and play them. I don't think BalotaBuddies does, so take a look there. Eventually people will wise up to this bad idea.

Who else LIKES the new update?
Rage VG replied to MissSweeney's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
I believe it has its ups and downs, It could do with some fixes, but it mostly achieved what it was trying to do; make zombies more prevalent. Don't you agree that they are now a lot more, er... 'There'? -
To me, age doesn't matter, your mental stability/maturity is what matters.

"Bad version" means you need to update your DayZ/ARMA II beta patch, or you're trying to play a map you haven't installed. If you're using DayZCommander, this is simply done in the "Install/update" page. Also, Program files (x86) is simply the default directory. If you have installed ARMA II to a different directory, simply switch out "C:\Program files (x86)\..." with wherever you installed yours, and the rest of the steps will remain the same. If all else fails, a clean install usually helps. Let me know if you manage to fix this, or if you need further help.

DayZ standalone verion release date
Rage VG replied to klakax's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
No confirmed release date. That's official. -
It's heavy on your CPU... I don't see how that could be read as anything else. Essentially, you shouldn't be looking to upgrade a laptop, as 99% of the time they have integrated graphics cards, meaning you can't take them out. A PC is moreso mix'n'match and so is what you should be looking at to improve your performance.

Too much ammo. Just 2 cents from a nobody.
Rage VG replied to nerd3d's topic in DayZ Mod Suggestions
The latest update lowered spawn rates of all forms of ammo. -
That's because the ones you watched likely weren't about survival. When you're a really good player, the zombies don't really bother you when you're looting. Starting out and for a while after, they are a living nightmare. Also, there's just been a new update, and Zombies are significantly more of a threat now.

My post achieved the same warning without revealing his name. What good is changing it if it's shown right in your post? The DDoS was mentioned in HIS post. I've no idea what to think of either of you. you're both just claiming the other person is making white lies (Which, by the way, is incorrect, A white lie is a lie you tell you avoid a negative situation without affecting the ultimate outcome. It's really the most acceptable form of lie.) Also, what Orlok said. Time to go get your logs. If you have the time/ability to change your front page to direct you to this thread, you have enough time to go get your logs. -

I like jeans only when I'm moving about outside. Anything else just seems too light and weak to me, and feel like I'm not wearing anything. -

I'd like to just cut in again to point out a few things from both sides: Brendon, you need to go ask the owner of your home server to come here to display some logs or anything to verify what you are saying. Sure, they might just have some random video, but right now all you have is a Skype convo. That's significantly less credible. Also, I don't feel that you should be using someone's age in a derogatory manner at all, let alone for the age of 17, which is almost legally an adult. Before you say that it wasn't meant to be derogatory, mind you that's the context you used it in, so if you didn't mean to, you should revise it. If you did, you're simply flat-out wrong to do so. Many great and talented users here are barely in their teens here, and I don't feel it's justified that they are slandered over something as trivial as their date of birth, merely because someone messed with your server on a video game. Now, towards Mole, I also strongly disagree with the disclosure of his Skype name. Regardless of whether he is lying or not, that's his personal information that he openly doesn't want to display. I don't care what happened on either of your servers or whatever beef you have with each other, it's low. Even more so, the DoS attacks. Since you've claimed he is a liar, I'm not going to immediately believe everything said including such a threat, but you don't seem to be denying this or even bothered by such an accusation so I'm going with the assumption it happened. It's completely out of order and if one honestly resorts to that when confronted, they're clearly incapable of dealing with things correctly, regardless of if they're in the right or the wrong. It's the equivalent of threatening to punch someone in the mouth if they argue with you, except you're hiding behind your computer as you do it. All in all, back and forth walls of text insulting each other aren't going to do anything. If you're simply going to ignore what I just wrote, go ahead, but think about how that's going to make you look, if you're simply here to throw insults like children to each other. Both of you, go get some evidence. Logs, witnesses, anything credible. Anything else is just a waste of your time, and the result is simply going to be this thread is going to be locked, the server will have a bad name but no action will be taken against it, which is a negative for both of you, as I'm sure you'd like to prove your server isn't at fault, mole, and I'm sure you want something done about your poor treatment, Brendon. So, get to it. -
I don't see you getting Global Banned for it, as long as you didn't stick around with the hacks.
