Actually I believe the majority of the users are aware of the custom skins and custom items. As far as I understand, all of the added items are either available to everyone, or purely cosmetic for the people volunteering their time to moderate the server. Plus, nobody said you meant abuse; but when the OP is talking about dickhead admins, and multiple people post things along the lines of "The admins at Balota Buddies won't ban you for no reason", or "The admins are nice over at BB", and the first words of your post are essentially "Balota buddies is no better", the logical conlusion, is as I previously stated.

I'm aware, but if that program doesn't have admin rights, it sometimes goes FUBAR, at least for me. Motion gestures were doing random things at random times. But if you've tried it, then I'm stumped, I'm afraid.

Okay, can you tell us if your mouse has its own program that runs alongside it/its drivers? My trackpad has, and I noticed there were some odd things going on with it until I tinkered with the program.

If you're using Windows 7, its icon should have a Blue-yellow checkered shield icon in the corner of its toolbar icon. Steam won't launch games as an admin unless it is running as an admin itself.

Personally, I just use my head.

The reason only a select number of individuals are allowed is because the main purpose of the alpha is to test server strain. Having nearly a million people on testing servers is a no-go.

Then the problem possibly lies with the mouse, but perhaps it's not a hardware one. Does DayZ have administrator privileges when you try to play?

Try just pressing [ and ] from your keyboard as opposed to from your mouse. This will allow us to identify whether it's an issue with the mouse or the app.

I read every thread, so I'll respond to people with any amount of posts. I don't feel it should be a rule in specific; instead, let's declare that a breach of common sense is a breach of the rules.

But that was due to lack of attention on your opponent's part. No matter how attentive you are at a game, you can't say "Hey, you can't do that" to a hacker and thus render him unable to do it.

Or they just start jacking people's bank details in addition to their CD-keys, and then they get free access to the game and servers, whilst legitimate players are once again forced to pay.

Because there are no ways to hack the PS3, Xbox 360 or Wii, right? Consoles are totally impenetrable. In case you don't get it, that's sarcasm. Forcing legitimate players to pay for the actions of hackers are what game companies are doing to legitimate players with DRM to stop pirates, and guess what? It just hurts legitimate players, and ruins games. There will ALWAYS, ALWAYS be hackers EVERYWHERE. If you can't live with that, stick to board games.

Then what relevance does your post have in a thread about admin abuse? We use logic to assume that, since it would otherwise have no relation to the topic, that you were implying it was about admin abuse. If not, that's fine, but I'm not sure how you were expecting us to know.

That's my point. If you make a change that's aimed towards simply improving the game, then the balance between solo and group play will come naturally.

It says right there in the first paragraph that his post is aimed at making people work together. I simply said I am not behind those sort of suggestions.

Then the focus of the updates should be rebalancing, not "Making players play like this".

If all your suggestions are just forcing players to play in a certain way, I'm not reading them. I'm sure there's more to it, but that's a big post and I don't particularly agree with your initial logic.

I'm not sure what you mean by "noob bandits", but in an attempt to kickstart your thread, I'll share a story of my encounter with some bandits. So, I was playing on Balota Buddies for the first time with one Sula over Teamspeak when we managed to get a bus. We were cruising 'round Elektro, I believe, when I had to go use the restroom. So, I went and did my business, came back to see the bus was still going. I said "I thought we were stopping there?" And she said "I did. Someone just shot me and took the bus. Where are you?" My heart stopped. "...Still in the bus." So I was kidnapped by bandits that had no idea I was in there. There were about 3-4 bandits in the bus, and it was pitch black. They drove for about 20 minutes, and finally they stopped and all got out. I think they were refuelling the bus. Anyway, as soon as they got out, I jumped into the driver's seat and sped off. They started firing at the bus with pistols, and managed to crack the pane of glass directly behind me, but I got away unharmed. I reported that I had gotten the bus back, and sula asked if I'm sure there's nobody else in the bus with me. It dawned on me that I didn't check, and I couldn't say for certain they all got off. I tried to look behind me, but between the cracked glass and pitch black, I couldn't tell. So, as I was driving along the road, I quickly switched to a passenger seat, looked around the bus as fast as I could, saw nobody, and switched back to the driver's seat. brix were shat. EDIT: I forgot to mention, the bandits in question actually joined our Teamspeak room once the server went down for scheduled restart, and we all had a good laugh over it. Good times, with some good sports.
