Or taking their guns makes them literally unable to kill you. If they're willing to be tied up, I'm sure they're willing to just drop their weapon. If you honestly leave a loaded gun laying around when you have a hostage, tied or otherwise, you deserve to be killed, like you said. But you won't get shot, you'll get tied up again. And again. Because if you managed to get tied up with your guns and at least some element of surprise, chances are you won't fare better without your guns, with him knowing you are there. And let's not pretend that people won't tie you up again; if someone is willing to go through the trouble to forcefully turn you into a hostage, they want you to stay as a hostage and not a rotting corpse. The worst that could happen is you get knocked unconcious, bandanged up, and tied up again. And since both of these prevent you from logging out, you have no choice but to accept it. "But eventually they will run out of medical supplies!" What if they have a tent full of bloodbags and bandages, specifically for doing that. "I doubt anyone would go that far just to annoy someone." Allow me to remind you that there are people who DDoS charity livestreams raising money for children with cancer. There is nothing "out of bounds" when it comes to greifing assholes. I bet there would be groups of people with plenty of ammo, medical supplies AND time, just aching to get someone tied up.
-
And like I said, that immediately makes it a greifing tool. And then you get tied up again immediately afterwards, thus rendering you unable to logout again, hence greifing tool. If it's a case of "If they untie themselves, just shoot them", then what's the point in having it in the first place? I could keep someone hostage without a mechanic for it by just taking their guns and telling them not to run. They're not exactly gonna log if I have their good gear on me. And if they do, free stuff for me anyway. What are you going to do when they're tied up and weaponless that requires them to be tied up? Regardless of if you deserve to die or not, you shouldn't be able to force someone to stay logged in. Inventory check? That's called looking in their backpacks.

Then just drop it. It's obvious that no about of logical reasoning is going to persuade you, and you can keep banging your head on the brick wall but you won't get anywhere. If you're already done, then I see no reason for further discussion. Anything wrong with his server will become apparent on its own. -

No, I purchased Combined Operations, which comes with both. It has been confirmed to work with ArmA II: Free. -

Yes, although I personally use DayZCommander for DayZ-specific updates. -

Wrong. It would work like so: On her PC: Install ARMA II and ARMA II: OA as normal. On your PC: Install ARMA II: Free and ARMA II: OA. Whoever gets ARMA II: Free will have worse graphics, so perhaps install it on the weaker rig. -

Clearly, because NOBODY would deduce you saying "I used admin powers to alter my gear" meaning that you were demoted for spawning gear. Therefore I am aware of what the "situation is" fully. And since you literally just told us what is going on, either we DO know what's going on in the server, or you're lying. Why you'd make up a lie that proves you to be incorrect is beyond me. Finally, I don't seem to see anyone else disagreeing with me here. You've yet to provide a logically sound argument, and keep dismissing my posts as "irrelevant" when really you mean "Correct but fuck you". Basically, OP should avoid giving admin powers to people with the mental capacity of a roof tile. Don't bother with another reply, odds are I won't read it since you ignore literally every valid point against you in favor or flat-out insulting the person you're replying to, merely because you can't think of a way to justify your dipshit behaviour, and I'm not interested in repeating myself to you because you feel like you should be treated like a special snowflake, and spoonfed everything with your admin tools. So unless your next post is something halfway intelligent, Jog on. I'm done replying to flamebait. -

That is beyond the point. He has the right to do that as it's his server, all he is going to do is drive away his players and staff, so he only has himself to blame for doing something so silly. However, you are not driving away your players, you're driving away his, which you have no place doing. So he does have the right to strip you of that position. -

Okay, if you are honestly so obsessed with your precious admin tools that you immediately dismiss any form of logic that doesn't involve them, I shall indulge you. What sort of warped logic would lead you to believe that he gave you those admin tools for gear? Logic would dictate if he gave it to you for gear, he'd just give you gear. Secondly, you were not given the position/power for the purpose of giving yourself gear. The reason it was not mentioned was because it had nothing to do with what you were given them for. He gave them to you to ensure that the server continued running smoothly, not to give you an edge over everyone else. And I say again, the idea that "Well, he didn't say I COULDN'T, so why not?" He didn't say you COULDN'T use your admin tools to ban literally everyone that logged in, because that is common sense. Just like it's common sense he doesn't want you screwing around with gear. There we go. I tried to keep it as close to the subject of your dear admin tools as possible. Maybe you'll read it this time. That was a bad analogy, and you should feel bad. ^This. Obviously, if I had a choice between someone who'll do anything they feel like unless I tell them not to, and someone who can use some rational thinking, guess who I (and anyone with an IQ higher than that of an egg and chip sandwich) would go with? Hint: The second one. -

So, by your logic, because he didn't expressly say it, it's fine to do? I bet he didn't specifically say you couldn't scream racial profanities at the members of the server over side chat, that means it's fine? I'm beginning to wonder how you got the powers in the first place. -
Well, no. Once you're shot, you suffer. You lose blood, you bleed, you get broken bones. You can't log out after being in danger so you can't just duck to cover and log out. Giving someone the ability to prevent another player using any items or logging out for as long as they like is the definition of terrible.
-
It has been brought up before, many times. And it has been shot down, many times. Any way to manually incapacitate a player for an extended period of time is a terrible idea, since if the victim could log out, it's essentially useless, and if they are forced to not logout, It'll ONLY be used to grief people nonstop. I really don't think that it's the way to go to reduce "KoS"ing.

Because that is common sense. I'm fairly certain that admins require a bit of it. He also didn't say you couldn't micspam Gangnam style, but you know that's not acceptable due to common sense. -
That's all ya need. Make sure to first make sure to install the latest DayZCommander update, THEN the latest Beta patch via DayZCommander, Then the vanilla DayZ, THEN whatever maps you're interested in.

No, you have to use ARMA 2 free WITH Operation Arrowhead.

It means that your GUID was caught hacking, and has been banned from all BE servers. Speak to BattlEye about it, we can't help you.

Is using teamspeak 'cheating'?

But they're choosing not to use it. If I chose to not use guns, that's my problem, not everyone else's. -

Teamspeak is used for organization with large groups. If you have a group of, say, 6 friends, but 2 of them want to discuss music, and everyone else is trying to talk about video games, they can go into their own channel. That way nobody is talking over each other. It also allows people to drop in and out as they please. I think TS's servers are better than Skype's connectivity also.

Is using teamspeak 'cheating'?
Rage VG replied to Maloney (DayZ)'s topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
Honestly, all I'm seeing from this thread is "It gives you an advantage, therefore it must be cheating." Confirm the unfair part and I'll bite. Since some people don't seem to get the difference between unfair and unjust, I'll explain: Unfair; A positive that others cannot take advantage of. Unjust; A positive that others shouldn't be able to take advantage of. Since you CAN use TS like everyone else, it is something others can take advantage of. Thus, it cannot be unfair. You are right, the game was designed for people to use the ingame communication, so they shouldn't be doing it. Therefore it is unjust. Since cheating is defined as acting unfairly to gain an advantage (Note the distinct lack of the word "unjust"), we can deduce it's not cheating. It's cheap, it's immersion-breaking, it's unjust. -

He said, "Hacking in things", thus referring to scripting. Scripting results in a ban. I'm not sure what your point is.
