  1. Question. What sort of logic drives a person to click on an advertisement for a server they know they don't like? If your issue is that it isn't Vanilla DayZ, that was obvious from the title.
  2. Rage VG

How to kill Ivan (patient zero) ?

Shoot 'em in the head. Step 1.
  3. Thematically this makes perfect sense. For gameplay purposes however, it makes little to no difference. Six of one, half a dozen of the the other, really.
  4. Use DayZCommander if you need to change your version.
  5. I've been hearing that a lot recently, surprisingly.
  6. That's rubbish. The fact they are mods has no relevance to the thread at hand, nor their opinions. So your comment was uncalled for. Also, I'm not sure where you got the idea that I cared for your opinion of me. That isn't relevant to the thread either, so I don't quite know why you're telling me.
  7. Because if it had no new features, then there would literally be no point to releasing the game, and the mod would be stuck in alpha forever? It would essentially be saying "Hey, I see you like the free DayZ mod, but how about you give us money and buy the exact same mod as a 'game' for literally no reason?"
  8. Yeah, I see no point in making a thread over a single post, especially when you're simply creating another thread about the standalone, even if it is in the opposite direction.
  9. Even out of the context of this thread, I love that blunt humor.
  10. Wow, and I thought the OP's post was stupid, but this just takes the cake. Explain how his role as a forum moderator would affect his ability to find servers? God, I refuse to dissect this garbage of a post further, lest I lose some IQ points... In fact, I'll let the song explain it:
  11. Well no, because if there's no explanation, there's no reason to believe them. The secrecy in itself is enough to spark suspicion, so if they're actually working on the game, there's no reason to be secretive about it. Because it's literally impossible for the reason he gave himself (That being he is intentionally taking his time to make sure things are how he wants them) to be true, right? Look, there's literally no reason to doubt them, as there's no reason for them to deceive us, nor is there any benefit to doing so. They are not holding anything of ours in in their possession until release. We haven't paid them for this work yet. The attitude that EVERYONE has taken is that if you can't be bothered waiting, then don't wait, Just don't keep flooding the place with "OMG I AM IMPATIENT" threads. There is also no logical advantage to making people wait for the game. The amount of people who are anticipated for the game aren't going to increase to make up for the people who are sick of waiting. So logically, there must be some other reason why they are taking so long. And wouldn't you know, the reason Rocket provided is logically sound and completely understandable. It goes against logic to think that they're up to something.
  12. Your entire first post was nothing but slander. Before I even commented here you were pretty much going with that "If you disagree clearly you're just butthurt" argument (further proven by your falling back to it just now) which is simply disrespectful to anyone on the other side of the argument, dismissing them before they've even had their stay. Simply put, I could very easily debate this normally, but since it's apparent that's not what you're really after, I won't waste my time trying. The videos and photo evidence DOES support it, hence why it is evidence. If there is a feature being talked about in the devblog, there is videos or pictures of it working as explained. There is no fathomable way this can be considered inaccurate, if it literally describes exactly what is shown.
  13. Don't get me wrong, your point isn't moot at all; he most certainly is entitled to his opinion, and had he not been slanderous in his first post, I'd feel that the harsh backlash would've been called for. Unfortunately that's not the case, and really I'm not sure what he was expecting.
  14. Yes, but we are also in our right to criticize it, even if it is in-constructive. The whole point of a thread is to debate the topic at hand, after all. As long as posts aren't simply flat-out insults, I'm not seeing anything wrong with people posting to disagree, even if the responses could be (and let's be honest, should be) considered as harsh.
  15. You think that photo and video evidence of development, in addition to a text-based rundown that gives a logically sound explanation of what's going on in the video can somehow be "deceiving"? Is your tinfoil hat cutting off circulation to your brain or something?
  16. I'm fairly certain that most, if not all devblog updates show pictures of the feature they are discussing in the article, unless it's in its rawest form, far from completion, or if there's no new features announced. If there's no pictures, there's usually videos. Sometimes there's both. So, yes.
  17. Jesus christ. You sound like a fucking conspiracy theorist. Rocket has no reason to "bullshit" us. He doesn't have to say anything, and we'd all still patiently wait. I don't give a flying shit why it's taking so long. It'll be out when it's out, as long as it's perfect when it does, I don't care when that is. Oh, no, it's not that we don't have one, it's that we're not repeating it for the 200th time, since this is literally a carbon copy of every single QQ thread we get daily. And you could argue that if there are so many, clearly something is wrong, then I could argue that there are hundreds more posts that argue the opposite, which speaks volumes more. Obviously, you're just going to dismiss them as "whiny fanboys", but if we do the same to you, it's because we're butthurt, right? The lack of logic in your posts makes me glad you're not active.
  18. My post could totally beat up your post.

    Quick question about beans.

No need. Just allow the thread to die out.

    Quick question about beans.

You have a limit of 10 beans every 24 hours, which doubles for legend members, I believe.
  21. Good thing that DayZ is in an entirely different genre to CoD and Counter-strike, and have very different crowds. Don't be fooled, no matter how you try, you cannot play DayZ like CoD/CS, as it's a survival mod, whereas CoD/CS are both twitch arcade FPSes. People like those games because you spawn in with a complete loadout, sprint around a small arena, and it's just your team vs their team. This is literally impossible to do in DayZ, as the map is massive, and there will always be your stamina preventing you from running around like such. Bollocks. People are willing to wait longer than that just to get into pregame lobbies, in other games. Also bollocks. When you want to get good at a game, you will continue to play it beyond the point in which it infuriates you. And all you need is a bit of luck in DayZ to enjoy yourself, which won't be too uncommon. Yet again, Bollocks. There have been hundreds of updates specifically tailored around user suggestions, and in fact most of the recent ones have been user-made themselves. Why in the hell would they spend time adding big features to a mod when millions of people are waiting for them to release a game? FYI, that's a horrible method of thinking you have. Removing things to stop hackers using them? Not only is that futile, but simply taking things out to spite hackers just means you will eventually be left with nothing. Once again, complete and utter bollocks. No more buzz? There are almost two million people in anticipation for this game. No matter how long it takes, it will have a massive playerbase upon release, I can guarantee it. Rocket is the lead developer, not the ONLY developer. ALL people are entitled to take holidays, and there's no reason why they need to slave away 24/7 to make a videogame, and disregard their personal wants and needs just for you. In fact, the bigger "fuck you" is that you can say that and still call yourself a DayZ fan. You are an incredibly negative person. You will never last long in this community.

    How to install Dayz properly

Hey there, here's the ideal (in my opinion) way to set up DayZ: 1. Run ArmA II. Wait until you can see the main menu, then quit. 2. Do the same for Arma II: Operation Arrowhead. 3. Download and install the latest version of DayZCommander. If you plan to play mods besides DayZ, Play WithSIX is also worth looking at. 4. Click on "Install/Update" on DayZCommander. 5. Update your ArmA II beta patch to the latest edition. 6. Install the latest version of DayZ (Or a previous version if you intend to join a server running it). 7. [OPTIONAL] Install any add-on maps you wish you play on. There you go. Should take you about 10-15 minutes tops. Any problems or more questions, shoot me a PM.

No problem. That's what we're here for ;D

Any copy will work, retail or digital, steam or otherwise. I would recommend DayZCommander highly, as you can update ARMA, DayZ AND any addons for DayZ.
