What exactly do you mean by "against nvg" ? Just to make it clear, you *want* a ghillie suit and will *give* nvgs for it, right? If yes then pm me.

My advice, the psychological stress of finding/repairing a chopper only to watch it crash or get stolen is too high, so just try to find another vehicle.

Have your group camp all helicopter spawn sites 7 days after this event occured and repair it again. Your helicopter is gone.

You can only be sure that you were killed by a hacker if you fire 3 three-round-bursts in his head, doesn't die but instead kills you with a full auto crossbow.

Have your friend (or yourself) press " i " while ingame. That should show the server name. Send the server name to your friend. Friend uses the name on the filter, joins ????? Profit

Blah blah blah, you're awesome and you take advantage of people. You should start thinking how things could have been if you weren't hostile though. Today I joined a server that had global chat, I asked if there was anyone friendly in cherno, got some replies, and before you knew it we were riding on a bus, and I was given an alice pack, a revolver and a dmr with 6 mags almost all tools and supplies. We went around chernarus trying to help a guy repair his car and it was awesome. Later I died because I got "inside" a well by exiting from a vehicle too close to said well, but that's another story ;P

Date/Time: 10/9/2012 What happened: I found camo clothes, equipped them and then : 1)For a brief moment I was teleported to a beach, I could see myself in 3rd person with camo clothing, next to another guy, also with camo. No one was holding a gun/backpack. 2)I go back to where I was, only my alice pack magically turned into a coyote pack (the starting one) 3)The extra items I had on the pack dissapeared and only 8 of my items (coyote pack full capacity) were transferred to the pack Where you were: Elektrozavodsk -> Two story shop opposite of the supermarket What you were doing: Equipping camo clothing *Current installed version: 1.7.2.6 *Server(s) you were on: Cannot remember *Your system specs: E8200 @ 2.66GHZ , 2048 RAM, GTS 250 *Timeline of events before/after error: I had just got my alice pack from the supermarket across the street, I doubt that had anything to do with it, the bug occured when I changed clothing. No other effects after the clothing change.

Unfortunately I wasn't so lucky. I saw 3 dead bodies on the airstrip, heard footsteps behind me saw a huge barrel coming out of a tree, shot the guy's head 3-4 times and then got shot :(

First off, I've been only playing for 5 days and I'm still alive probably because of the loads of guides/videos I've seen before actually playing. I have a g17 (never fired it) and I found a PDW yesterday. I kept my g17 though, mostly for two reasons 1)Wiki page says you'll have to unload a whole mag on a player to kill him with it (and obviously hit with every bullet) - if my goal was to kill him 2)It's louder than the g17 and my playstyle is mostly sneaky since I play solo. Did I do the right thing? I had to make a decision in a hurry because I had no space in my backpack and I obviously didn't have the time to wait for people to respond on a thread while I was playing. ps: my main is an mp5sd6 and I keep an m16a2 in my backpack. I only fire the mp5 preemptively at zombies that come too close, or when I have already aggroed them.

OP has an AS50 with thermal, full ammo for it but still has a coyote pack. Seems legit. On the thread however, my best gear is the one I have right now, since I'm still alive from the first day I started playing 5 days ago (yaaay) Which is an mp5sd6 plus an m16a2 on my assault pack, a g17 and every tool except a toolbox. Also, binoculars. I just want a bigger pack for now.

You do realise that some screens may have different settings and require more gamma to get the same view you have right? My last screen (an LG CRT 18") had horrible settings and the default gamma/brightness setting was so dark you could barely see ingame menus of anything. (and it was already maxed out on the screen menu) Having a limit on video graphics settings would be a bad idea. Having a limit on how many times a day you can change those two however, might not be.

Although I'm pretty careful, I always know someone is nearby because of the gunshots. So I watch them from a distance/avoid them. No reason to engage, and certainly no reason to team up.

So, in a game where there's no goal other than surviving, you want an option to suicide?

I dont think you understood my post. When wearing a ghillie suit you can't carry (as in, on your body, not with your hands) anything more than the things I mentioned. You can only carry those if you have the right harness/belt/whatever. Obviously you can carry a primary in your hands or in your back if you have a sling. I'm just saying -> ghillie = very very low capacity for carrying things. Also, the reason that you stick out like a sore thumb is because the camouflage the ghillie suit provides is for areas with similar vegetation and colours. If a guy with a ghillie is standing still it's almost impossible to spot him unless he picked a bad place to hide.

This game mod is about realism, correct me if I am wrong. In real life, when you're wearing a ghillie suit you can carry a sidearm, a mag or two and a radio. That's it. No bottles no steaks no backpacks, nothing. I know this because I own a ghillie suit. I think the best option would be a ghillie as an equippable item (four slots are ok - I have a backpack that's the size of the czech backpack and it takes half the main storage area). And when you equip it, you drop *everything* except your sidearm and two magazines (primary or secondary -> your choice) That will force players with ghillie suits to have a base of operations, a safe house to store their stuff when they want to go hunting, same as they would in reality.

Hello, I'm new to the game, have read tons of guides watched videos etc and i've been doing great the last 3 days, never died. Haven't found any straight answers to these questions in videos/guides/wiki so here goes : I'm mostly playing solo, here's what I want to know regarding killing animals. 1) Can I kill animals with my axe ? (so as to conserve ammo + not make sounds) 2) If I just equip my axe will my weapon drop or magically dissapear? (note, I also have another primary on my backpack) That's it basically I'm just anxious about losing my gun trying not to spend one bullet. Is my anxiety justified or am I turning just paranoid because every time I go to cherno I hear gunfire?

Thanks for the replies and tips :D I'm using an mp5sd and I got a cz550 on my backpack. I only had to use it once because I was in a house in cherno and a zed got aggroed somehow. It also took an entire clip before going down. I just avoid zombies, never get into fights.

My bro got me this pack for my birthday and I've been playing DayZ ever since. I know arma II is a great game but the suspense in dayz is amazing. Best mod idea ever. I look forward to more bugfixes etc to make even more enjoyable than it is now.
