Barbed Wire .. Getting really annoying now

When I find that someone has stupidly blocked the entrance to a major building with wire (yes, it's super annoying, I agree), so that almost no one can get in (or will have the patience to try), I make a note of these spots and then make it a point to run right back to them if/when I find a toolkit, and remove it all. Feels so good. :)

    Hotfix Build 1.7.1.5 Rolling Update

Either way, I totally agree. That would add a lot of really freaky atmosphere if you were to happen upon distant screams every now and then! This should definitely be in the game if it isn't already.

global and sidechat removal in the alpha phase

To me the game is waaaay more immersive and spooky without all that innane global chat taking up a 1/4 of my screen. Personally, I don't want to be forced to have to see it. I think it serves a purpose, but it should be toggleable so you're not forced to see it splashed across your screen if you don't want to and if you prefer a more immersive and realistic game. If it can't be made toggleable, then please just remove it altogether. Really takes you out of the moment to see all that silly chitter-chatter scrolling up every second. P.S. Same goes for the debug monitor. Please remove it or make it info you can access with a key, where it doesn't stay on your main view at all times unless you want it to. I'll be so glad when that gets hidden.
  4. I get that dreaded issue where most of the servers i get into (even well-pinging ones) play fine at first... then after 15 or 20 minutes or so (never timed it), they suddenly start gumming up and the FPS take a drastic nosedive and it becomes totally unplayable eventually. Happens almost every time. Yet every update changelog always has a fix re: FPS and "lag issues" and boasts of ever new methods of "cleanup" or whatever on servers to (supposedly) give substantial increases in FPS, etc., yet they never seem to do anything at all for me. But then, I definitely need a better graphics card at this point, too, (just waiting till I can afford to replace this ancient one), but still, why can' it just keep playing as smooth (comparatively speaking) as it does when I first start the game and join a server? That's what's so frustrating, if the performance just didn't drastically decrease the longer I played, I'd be OK. :(

    Seriously what happened Rocket?

Well' date=' these two points I do happen to agree with (lack of proper punctuation notwithstanding), but I'm sure, like everything else, these will continue to be tweaked going forward until the perfect balance is discovered. The game absolutely [i']must keep developing, growing and moving forward, though, so there will be growing pains along the way. I've accepted that. It's what an alpha is for after all.

    Pending Update 1.7.1 Details

Was wondering the same thing. Well, going by past releases anyway, when Rocket made "update pending" threads before, how long after that has it usually taken for said patches to get released? Might give us at least a rough idea. Or not, who knows.

    Voice & Text Communication

Well, I'm really glad there's text chat, too, because I tend to play late at night and simply can't sit there talking to people in-game on mic without waking everyone up in my house. So it just can't be done usually. Besides, not a big fan of sitting there in a video game and chit-chatting (with voice) with complete strangers--a large percentage of which turn out to be complete tools in my experience with online gaming over many years. Yeah, I'm just not that sociable with utter strangers on the internet. Or even in real life. :)

Taking a break from Day Z

Eh, don't worry, Rocket will get this game back in ship-shape condition soon enough.

    The zombies them selves

Guarantee you all this stuff will get fixed/changed eventually (the alpha thing and all)' date=' but yeah, it's pretty immersion-breaking right now to see them walking through closed doors and magically (and frustratingly!) hitting you through walls, no doubt about that. Well I don't mind them being kind of tough to hit (all part of the challenge), but I definitely agree that the bizarre teleporting zig-zagging stuff they're doing in the mod's current state is just plain retarded looking, and worse, literally feels broken and messed up. But again, I'm sure that's just a temporary thing that will get improved at some point here, so I don't get too hung up on these things right now.

    We've got it too easy

Oh, if only the game played out that way. The way it goes now is, you see a zombie and think, "Thank God, it's just a zombie and not another player!" Sad but true.
  13. Heh, people always say that like it's SOOO safe to do. Right. I know bandits totally love it when you do it, no question there. Maybe I've just had terrible luck and all, but almost every time I try to walk around at night with a flare in-hand, or even toss a few around so I can see to scavenge, I get shot at and usually killed, if I don't just abandon my plan and run for the woods, since once I back away from the flares to take cover from the gunfire I can't see a thing--yet somehow they always can. Often it's the same with carrying around chem lights. It's all actually very risky to do at night, yet, is really sometimes the only thing you CAN do (even with my gamma/brightness/HDR all at full it's still a challenge to see much). I wish it were lightened overall just a little bit. As it stands, at least until my friends and I aren't such noobs and can handle ourselves better, we just migrate to daytime servers where we can actually see the game we're playing. We're weird like that. Dark is one thing, but ArmA II dark is like playing in a black hole, where all the light gets swallowed up and ceases to even exist!
