[–]rocket2gunsRocket [score hidden] 10 minutes ago * This is exactly what I said is the problem with hiring community management people just three days ago. Our feedback tracker manager can only go off the information he has at hand. Currently, it is not a bug because there is nothing we can do about it in the current engine. To do anything we would have to replace the renderer. Curiously enough, that is what we are doing. Please for the love of god, do not crucify our community and feedback staff - or you will be stuck with Brian and me forever! I requested the feedback manager do a full regression on all voted ticket items with thecurrent status. He has been on the project a few weeks, he will post the status of what he knows and where things are currently at. FACT: We cannot fix this in the current rendering engine. It is impossible. FACT: We are currently replacing the entire rendering engine. Once we have replaced it, we will review the situation. permalink

Why Were Helicopters "Overpowered" In The Vanilla Mod?
irl-calibre replied to Katana67's topic in General Discussion

Any one feel sick about the graphics like me?
irl-calibre replied to Murdochd's topic in General Discussion
You're not quite right, nausea in video games is cause by a conflict of the information your brain is trying to process from your acute vision & peripheral vision. it's about the players eyes & the screen, that is why a standard games console uses fov of 60 degrees (about the size of the cone of acute vision) as most people playing are sitting on a sofa playing on a big TV, when your eyes are closer to the screen 60 degree FOV bleeds into peripheral vision causing you to feel sick so you need to widen it by setting the fov higher, or move further back from the screen. try sitting further away from your screen / adjust FOV / turn headbob off.. -

Anyone else think DayZ should switch engines?
irl-calibre replied to SomeCallMeNomad (DayZ)'s topic in General Discussion
why on earth would the developers want to walk away for an engine that has lead the field for years in terms of what it does, that they have been building and refining since most of you were still using stabilisers on your bicycles? Do you really believe that these people don't know what their at? Jesus wept. -
First discount of DayZ standalone on steam
irl-calibre replied to tenshu's topic in General Discussion
Holy shit so it is fifteen years! happy birthday BI! & thanks for all the hundreds if not thousands of hours entertainment, not too mention all the crazy lunatics i've had fun playing your games / mods with. No begrudgery here, nice to see you share the birthday cheer with your fans old & new!! -
started with the zombie missions in ARMA years before DayZ..

Time to fix night time once and for all! (with pool)
irl-calibre replied to MLCA's topic in General Discussion
I think night time will be sorted once they take dx9 out of the equation all together, as it is it's quite possible to tweak a really good atmospheric night in the game, yes it requires integrity on behalf of the players, but I have faith in humanity by and large. if you don't like playing at night because you assume every single person you encounter is going to be cheating, then don't play. At the end of the day you're going to run into someone eventually cheating in online gaming, it's been like that since Jesus was a wee lad. Shit happens. -
playing mainly 3p this last while.. Day Night - Loadout - looking for - Gas ring (lost all my camping stuff a few weeks ago) TTsKO pants - last pair ruined by Z's Matches alive for about 100ish hours in game (my hardcore character is alive and well but haven't checked in on them in a while)

interesting article about tears.. I think people should examine them under a microscope to understand better the emotion caused by a death in a fantasy.. http://www.smithsonianmag.com/science-nature/the-microscopic-structures-of-dried-human-tears-180947766/?no-ist

Alright, I am finally concerned about the standalone
irl-calibre replied to JimmyGate's topic in General Discussion
lucky you! I haven't been able to play bf4 in over 4 months as it keeps crashing since the patch just before Christmass (there is also a thread well over 900 pages long in the pc section of people experiencing the same in their forums) ps.. not interested in a pissing contest between the two & for the record I love BF4 & i'm confident they will fix it eventually.. -
Alright, I am finally concerned about the standalone
irl-calibre replied to JimmyGate's topic in General Discussion
er.. someone who has fulfilled their contract and are no longer obligated to live in an eastern European city where their work visa is no longer valid and who wishes to return home to his own country and start their own studio rather than work for someone else maybe? Dayz is going to be huge when it releases, BI are not some fly by night operation.. -
Alright, I am finally concerned about the standalone
irl-calibre replied to JimmyGate's topic in General Discussion
it's nothing to do with "white knighting" my comment wasn't even directed at you, never the less, you must be fucking blind then as I see new content / town's / buildings in the last few weeks, not to mention all the work i'd imagine that is going on under the hood so to speak with the engine / server architecture etc etc.. my comment was directed at the person trying to tell BI which version of their engine they should use, my point being.. i'm pretty sure they know what their at better than they do. -
Alright, I am finally concerned about the standalone
irl-calibre replied to JimmyGate's topic in General Discussion
yeah, that';s right, in all the very many years they have been developing their engine and games, you know better than they do what their at, away and have a word with yourself.. -
