I'd love to see this implemented. Only for the reason that when I get shot on sight, I try to question the person as to why they shot me (I don't really care about dying, I just want their reasoning) and then continue to get shot to death. I can't really complain because I'm a bandit with over -2mil Humanity, but getting randomly shot is annoying for those who do it too. Call me a hypocrite. Sadly, there's the harsh reality that shit will never, NEVER get implemented into DayZ because of the fact that Arma's engine is shit, and restricts a lot of movement. I mean just look how long it took them to create a jump movement that didn't involve the vault button.

The best place to hide it is the worst place to travel. If you want to find a good hiding spot, it's definitely not going to be anywhere on the given map. You must drive outside the boundaries and into the debug for a good stash spot. I suggest somewhere north/northeast of the NWAF, as there are roads within close proximity of the debug plains/forest that are easy to get back onto and travel into the map. With that off-road you should have no trouble going to and fro.

Today I was playing on a server with side channel, and came across a player named XackAttack who had an annoying yet hilarious method of trolling. Through previous attempts of chatting on side channel, my friend and I realized that any VON was blocked. However, XackAttack was able to play some audio files to everyone in the server, as if we had loaded the sound files up to play ourselves. The way he did this was quite strange, and I'm curious to know if it's possible to do this otherwise or if he was hacking. Xack would simply type in side channel 'Interior Crocodile Alligator' and the song would start playing in side channel. He also typed 'Trololololol' and the trololol song started playing. He claimed to not be hacking, saying it was a feature built into Arma II. At first I just thought it was something like commands in single player to tell troops what to do, or something of the sort, but I'm not quite sure. Any clarification on this?

Just found this old post on my profile. I do still remember the incident clearly, and Sidechat was enabled, but you just couldn't speak on it. Players were chatting via text on Sidechat, but the admin had muted the VON to reduce trolling. I guess the guy (whoever the hell he was) knew how to project those files into VON even with it being blocked and did it to troll the admin. I still think it's hilarious, and I'd love to figure out how he did it.

Yes, I realize this.. Thing is, it might be a problem with the server more than it is just the game. Server's can only take so much, and eventually they have to clean bodies. Ever killed 100 zombies on the spot and had enough time to draw profanity and other dirty things on their faces? Neither have I...

I have a feeling the combat logging is going to be a problem. Alt+F4 warriors really weren't that much of a problem; usually they were the idiots that died before they even realized they're playing DayZ. Anyone (such as myself) could load up my M249 and pop a bullet at someone, in very slow intervals (since the timer is semi-long), and keep them logged into the game. If they know they cannot beat me, the only way to get out is Alt+F4ing which is now suicide. I think it's a pretty easy way to repititively kill people. You never even have to see the person or have a bullet touch their skin. Just simply keep firing off until they give in. I realize that it might not always be the case, some people are willing to wait it out (curiousity kills the cats). I just find it really dumb that it will be possible to keep someone at bay by putting a couple bullets their way, never intending to hit them.

May I ask how you got the custom loot spawns working? As a co-owner of another community hive, I think it'd be pretty awesome if we could customize some of the spawns!

He's asking for other options so he doesn't have to go through the horrible process we call 'Downloading Arma2'. On another note, do you even know what legit means? You did a good job of using it.. in the wrong context. Something like 'Reasonable reply' would've done you better.

Car chases that end in me winning. Yesterday me and a friend were driving in a van, heading to NWAF. Surprisingly as we were coasting along, we looked ahead to see another van barreling down the road, just turning around a loop on the way to Stary. I quickly stopped the car and began to unload at the driver, and in doing this he decided to turn a hard right into the field next to us. I jumped back in my van and followed his van, and after a short distance we came to a pond. I'm not sure if he bumped into a rock or thought hiding behind the shrub next to the pond (in a bright blue van mind you) was a good idea. I saw his van stop, and I brought mine to a halt. As my buddy unleashed his M14, I let my M249 r0ar. Being completely helpless, the two survivors in the van exited the vehicle, only to fall in a bloody heap. Fight or flight situations are the best.

I've got to say, hunting is one of the most enjoyable things on this game. On my private hive server I mainly try to help people out, but there's always those unappeciative people or people who want to camp freshspawns.. When people like this do log on to the server, I make sure I hunt them quietly and patiently. Sometimes I'll even allow them to loot a little, all the while I'm creeping ever closer to my vantage point. Once I have the shot, I make sure it's quick and clean; I don't like giving players like that a second to recognize what might be going on. One shot to the head is all I need, and the deal is done for both me and my target. After that I creep back a good 100m to my getaway vehicle and continue to travel the land of Chernarus.. It truly is great to know that you've just eliminated another player with a crack of just one bullet. Not a trace of me and my rifle except for the pile of bones that was once a living survivor. It seems to be the most aggravating (from my personal experience) to be shot and not have answers as to where you were shot from. Guess my previous years of CoD have left bad marks on me.

It's not a bug; people hide bodies all the time. I do it to people on public servers who snipe freshspawns. Sometimes you will die and your body will sink upon aborting too quick directly after death. This is easily avoidable; just wait for the 'You are dead' screen, then after a couple seconds you can abort without problems.

This reminds me of the Lost Silver creepypasta, had the same storyline and conclusion.

Holy fuck, reading this random thread pisses me off, even if I realize it's months old. Gotta love stupid admins who pay $40 for a server and think they've got the biggest schlong in town. "Grow the fuck up" i lol'd. Pussied out of a suspected hacker attack because you died after going to smoke some of your lifetime off. Your friends simply got snuck up on and taken out (sucks to suck) and since you guys were miles away from a big town it had to be a hacker. The multiple restarts were the best part of all these shenanigans. Dumbasses having power over something = sobad

Through a GSP (running through a host), I have a line similar to the one you posted "DO NOT EDIT THIS LINE" and it has my server's ID and what not, but there's nothing else I can really do. Don't know what necessarily caused this problem. Was playing with some friends last night, and it was way too dark. We restarted the server, and let it get running again. After a few minutes we finally logged in to see it was still dark, so we changed the GMT time and restarted once more. We changed the time to GMT+2 on the server hoster tools (it was GMT-9 before). We are also using DayZTools, and the time on that website was GMT+2, which was odd seeing as it didn't mess up the server's time. I'm not sure if simply changing these options or restarting too quickly is the source of the problem, but I don't have much access to the Bliss\server.cfg

Currently don't have the option to download the Bliss\server.cfg, is it a different file? I have the ability to edit files from the webpage that controls the server I believe.

May I ask how you got to this? I don't know if I'm going to the right file for config (going to Bliss\server.cfg) but the only way I can edit that is just changing simple things like MOTD, Admin Password, Difficulty, etc.

No, actually. Having this exact same problem now. Simply restarted the server to fix the time, logged in and ran around for a minute, realized it was dark and restarted again. BAM server goes bad.

Before a mod deadlegs your thread, let me just say it's not happening. I've tried to open a thread like this, and got locked by Max. "No single player. Locked." I'm with you on the idea though.

I can't currently look at the pictures, but from the sounds of it, you logged out positioned in the driver's seat. When you came back, your Ural was gone but you were still stuck in the driver's position. This can be fixed by forcing your character into a simple action. This has happened to me as a freshspawn, and you can: 1. Bandage yourself 2. Take your flashlight off your belt (your character must pull it off his belt) Hope this helps.

Have had the same glitch happen for me and my buddies. We play on a private hive server that one of my friends owns, and we've been running around fixing vehicles up. After putting the tires on a vehicle, and sometimes maybe a scrap metal, the vehicle will be fully repaired. After a server restart, the vehicle's true condition will show though, and then we will actually have to repair it. According to the vehicles, we've been driving around in suicide vehicles for the past week o_O
