    That's been kinda frustrating - the female member of our group not being able to put on camo or ghillie suits, though I do understand that it will require a good bit of extra modeling.

    Yeah, it seems he's drifted in from E3, schooner rather than later - though perhaps held back by an unfathomable boaty call with a lovely gal who prefers it in the stern. Surely he will keep this mod from capsizing. Though, if not, much ado aboat nothing.

    I'm not sure why you're not having a problem - it might be that you haven't connected to a server suffering from the issues yet, but I think Rocket mentioned that it has something to do with the servers not updating something or other and slowly degrading. So right now, pretty much everyone has the problem.

    That's curious. I still had the M16 that I had acquired pre-rollover. At any rate, Carcer & company, while I agree that discussing this topic is important - and, in fact, agree with Carcer for the most part (though, now that it's been brought to light that repeatedly switching gender might place a very heavy load on the servers, I don't know that it's the right way to go regardless of how we feel) - it would be polite of you all to open a suggestion thread on the subject and debate there. This thread should focus more on the overall update than this individual aspect. Thread's getting a bit clogged, y'know? Here's hoping to a frame rate fix today!

    Man the frik up. I'm on Day 27 of this character. I average 14 FPS in open fields. 7 FPS is fantastical whilst deep in Cherno. 10-12 FPS is not unplayable. I apologize for busting my ass to have a computer that functions properly, gentlemen.

    I'll listen to you once you don't sound like a 12 year old to me. anyway I'm just going to wait until tomorrow when they hopefully get the fps issue fixed. See' date=' I'm not doing [i']too terribly at the moment, surprisingly. The last frame rate hiccup (before the hotfix on Wednesday) had me at about 10-12 FPS. It was awful, I couldn't play at all. This one has me closer to 30-40 FPS, because I can creep in-game and work my way around if I'm careful enough - I wouldn't risk a shootout right now, because if anybody has a higher frame rate than me, I'm the proverbial fish in the virtual barrel. Also, playing at night is scary.

    Much appreciated! I can't tell you if it degrades or not (last time my FPS very progressively got worse until finally I was playing at about 5-10 FPS' date=' constant, before the hotfix) because I can't get into a damned server right now, but it's nice to have a dev team that's on top of their mod. Poor ol' Hidden. At any rate, if you do introduce an application system for a dedicated tester team, I'd certainly be [i']all over that shit. I love this mod! I can't wait for it to stabilize a bit. Once it's out of its Alpha stages it'll probably be one of the best mods ever made, frankly. It's already a heap better than any other ArmA II mod. :P

    Water purification!

    I don't know if I agree with having all these extra objects and wait times put in with it. I mean, if it takes you an hour and five different objects to purify your water, it's pretty much pointless - you've probably dehydrated to death by then anyway. The iodine tablet idea is still awesome, though.

I understand the problems that this would solve and the overall beneficial aspects of it - but, even ignoring the incredible strain that would place on any server (perpetually processing your lifeless husk, leaving you in a never-ending queue and taking up space on an already over crowded game), let's talk about the fact that I don't want to be that tied down to this damn game. Hey, I love it, and it's provided me with 30ish hours of nonstop terror, fun, and a bit of swearing and shouting - but I don't love it enough to want to be concerned about it when I'm out with a girl, or shooting hoops with my friends. Nor do I want to feel like I can't just get up and walk away from it whenever the fuck I want to, y'know?

    Right, but I feel like I have a twelve inch penis, when in fact it is only an eighth of an inch long. All that glitters is not gold. EDIT: That would be cool, Shame. If you drink it without purifying it, you just dehydrate faster - but it can be a very valuable source of water if you have the means to purify it (iodine tablets or a box of matches and some wood - or perhaps a Brita filter and a working faucet?).

    For the record, there is a difference between not being able to navigate to your friend, and being incredibly bored by having to stroll the equivalent of twenty real world miles because the game felt like spawning you in Otmel twenty-seven consecutive times. You can't really argue that it's "realistic" - I mean, yeah, I hate when I die in real life and then spawn too far away from my friend but come on guys.

    I did not know that! Well, see, then my suggestion actually makes sense. EDIT: Also I'm fairly certain that alcohol suppressing hypothermia is a myth. From what I recall of the last biology course I took, it draws blood up to the surface of your skin - creating the blushing effect many people have when they're inebriated - and thus lowering the temperature of your body by allowing heat to escape through your skin. Or some such crap. I do like the idea of making my own moonshine and trading it for ammo, though. Yeehaw.

    Facial Looks Tied To Humanity.

    Well, fairness is nice, but in player-versus-player combat it's unnecessary. Is the game harsh? Yes. Is it unforgiving? Absolutely. That's why it's so fun! Of course, I don't enjoy being murdered by other players, because the majority of the time I try to help other survivors - even team up with them so that we can take on the world together and share in the profit! This would promote one thing that I dislike, however: visual identification of murderers. Let's face it, not everyone with a bandit skin is a bandit - I've been forced to defend myself against actual bandits, and after killing them, being turned into a bandit myself! Then, ten minutes later, I am promptly shot in the back by somebody that assumes I am a murdering jerk. It's not particularly fun! As it stands, I would much prefer not knowing where someone's allegiance stands than being offed because of some visual misidentification.

    Horror Visual Filter

    You know, while this idea is rather interesting - I always love atmosphere building! - I don't know that it's even possible. I hear the ArmA II engine is fairly finicky, and I personally don't know if the devs can implement a function like that at all. One thing they COULD add, that might be interesting, is the system of constant sound - the in-game music is rather spooky, but not particularly persistent or meaningful. If you've ever played Silent Hill, you know the theory - a lack of silence, of any kind, vaguely disorients and confuses people. It leaves them on the edge of their seat, just slightly terrified that something is coming for them. I know that could be implemented - it would just be a lengthy, looping sound file, and I think it could add a lot of atmosphere to the mod!

    On a more morbid note, if you come across another survivor that is either unwilling to help you or AFK, you can actually shoot him and the zombies will be attracted to his blood. It's kind of hilarious to watch. Did it once to a prone AFK fellow - he started spurting blood and the twenty or thirty runners pursuing me immediately went after the freshly wounded game. About ten minutes later he was yelling in chat because he died while he was AFK. <:
