    Alternative to adding in ragdolls

Better do things properly. New animations/skeletons/ragdoll.

    Standalone and map sizes...

I think that Chernarus should be expanded North/West, there is already a lot of space with nothing in there. Personally I would like to see a huge wild space North, and further North a fairly big city (I don't mind if it's just a copy/paste of cherno). Would be cool to have a goal that is far away, so that you can really enjoy your trip.

    smoking cigarettes?

It would be worth to having it in game just for the fact that someone is going to smoke at night.

    SA Animations

I've just seen the new SA video ( http://dayzdev.tumblr.com/ ), love all the improvement, but i was expecting a little more in regard of Animations (Idle/moving) and Movement Speed. I would like to know if it's possible to use Arma III animations or if they're planning to improve it in another way. At this point, with all the goodness that's coming with the SA, i feel like animations are what really could give the game a radical, positive change. Just curious of what you think about it. (Sorry about my english .-. )

    SA Animations

Looks like it takes a lot of time to fix animations, as Rcket said ( http://www.reddit.com/r/dayz/comments/17x78s/sa_the_new_development_video_looked_great_but_im/ ). Perhaps minor improvements like reducing acceleration when starting movements would help.

    SA Animations

You're right, i just want to make sure that this aspect isn't underestimated, it has a huge impact in almost every aspect of the game.

    DayZ Devblog 4th February 2013

Uhm, I'm a little disappointed about animations, I was expecting some improvements like in Arma III. IMO movement speed is way to fast, looks unrealistic and make it hard to move inside buildings.

Why do you use 3rd person?

Just adjust third person, everyone's happy.

    Remove the Ghillie suit

Problem with ghillies at the moment is that it's the equivalent of a Gold Sparkle Armor of Destiny where the as50 is The Supremacy Sword.

    Standalone Ghillies

I never liked the ARMA II ghillie, it doesn't look like a proper one. I would like to see in the standalone something more "comfortable" and transportable like the "viper hood".

    Standalone Ghillies

Well, the ARMA ghillie don't even have gloves. The boots are to exposed and by a realistic prospective would be pretty hard to find a magazine in that bush xD The first pic show the base of the ghillie, it's made to attach the vegetation and have a mobile drap in the back, it's probably one of the most versatile ghillie base around.

Devblog update: Where is the Standalone?

Looks like the characters are the Arma III ones. I'm really happy to see that, I suggest you all to have a look at the animations - clothing system.

New Dev Blog Report: November 2012

I'm a little worried about the animations/controls changes. I mean, definitely both animations and controls need to be improved, but i hope that these changes will increase realism like in Arma 3. Thanks for the devblog though :D

Add Lingor Island in the South

This. But i don't think it should be for starters, it's too dangerous to be in a small island full of people. I see it more as a place for skilled players with a boat.

    Hunting Simulation

Recently I've played a game called The Hunter. http://www.thehunter.com/ (Hope it's ok to post the link.) It's a hunting simulator, i think that it's a great source of features that could be added to DayZ. It's very realistic, you have to follow tracks such as... uhm shit, animal footprints (google translated, don't know if correct :D ) and blood. Shit and footprints are different for Deers, Bears and whatever animal there's in game, so you'll need practice to recognise of which species it is. (Human shit, huh? ) Also, animals can hear/smell/see really far, so it's pretty hard to spot them and you'll need to stealth/walk till you're in shoot/range. All these features could expand the sandbox, which is always good. - Uh, the game have digital cameras to take picture ingame, could be a usefull tool in DayZ. -

    Hunting Simulation

As it should be :D The forest will be a dangerous place because of the badass hunters living in it!

    Arma 3 - Standalone Features

I think it would be cool to have Arma 3 animations, ragdoll, customizations and other stuff. I know that most of these features are already planned, but are they going to use the Arma 3's ones or just doing it from scratch? I'm really worried about the animations/physics, i mean, it's what makes DayZ look that ugly (graphically). Sorry about my english :D

    Arma 3 - Standalone Features

Probably because we, non-english speakers, are so afraid to look silly. lol Yes, obviously all the Arma 2/Engine problems are a priority, without a polished game no one would be able to enjoy the eye-candy stuffs! It's just that i noticed how "little" things, like characters idle animations, can improve the immersion, and immersion is what really makes the difference in a game like this in my opinion :D So even if both engines (Arma 3 - DayZ) are based on the Real Virtuality isn't it possible to share those features? It would also considerably boost the development, which is good.
